We have an opportunity to work on a new project as our Befriending Development Coordinator.

You will work closely with Greenwich residents aged 50 years + and other relevant stakeholders to enable a programme of services, events and activities which seek to improve their health and wellbeing. It will target those who are lonely, isolated, and living in disadvantaged parts of the borough.

This post is based in our offices at Sherard Road in Eltham but will involve work across the borough of Greenwich so the ability to travel easily is important.

We are looking for a high-calibre candidate to take up a fixed-term, maternity cover role as Centre Leader at our
IntoUniversity centre in Weston-super-Mare. You will have responsibility for running your IntoUniversity centre, including
managing your team, planning and delivering the programme, liaising with external stakeholders and meeting
IntoUniversity’s targets for delivery. A substantial element of this role is delivering our education programme to children
and young people aged 7-18, so you will need to have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for working with young
people, including leading a class of 30 from the front, working with small teams of children and providing one-to-one support.

Using a gender and trauma-informed approach, the Outreach & Engagement Worker will deliver 2-4 daytime outreach sessions per week in Manchester alongside partners, colleagues and volunteers. They will also attend the Street Engagement Hub weekly to provide specialist support to women attending this multi-agency hub. They will provide brief interventions and casework support to women supporting their needs holistically.

You will work with other members of the MASH team to achieve the following outcomes:

• To improve women’s health
• To improve women’s wellbeing
• To increase women’s safety
• To enable women to identify and achieve their goals
• Women who sex work are heard, understood and experience less stigma
• Other agencies and policymakers understand the needs of women who sex work and are more effective at supporting them

Since 1991, MASH has been at the forefront of supporting women in and around Greater Manchester who are, have been or may start sex working and who are facing multiple disadvantage. We were founded as a social justice organisation, starting out as a grassroots, community led response to the HIV/AIDS crisis and we have continued to support women at the sharpest end of inequalities ever since.

Whilst the nature of sex work, the context in which we operate and the support we provide has changed dramatically over the last thirty years, one thing has remained constant: MASH continues to be a haven for some of the most marginalised women in Greater Manchester –  women who fall through the gaps, are under served by mainstream services and face stigma, discrimination and multiple barriers to accessing the support they need. At MASH, we meet each woman where they are at and stay with them for as long as it takes for them to get to where they want to be. Crucially, our support is gender and trauma informed and responsive and we bring decades of experience of appropriately supporting women in ways which work for them.

Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led literacy and numeracy programmes across a number of prisons.  We now have the opportunity to provide a service at HMP Bure and HMP Norwich. Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our literacy and numeracy programme at HMP Bure and HMP Norwich, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read. 

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.

This is a full time role and will be split between two sites at HMP Bure and HMP Norwich. 2 x part time positions may be considered. This role will be prison-based.

You’ll have an active role providing LGBTQ+ affirmative support for LGBTQ+ children and young people. 

This is an exciting job opportunity to join a dynamic and committed team in a front-line role to support and deliver the activities and services of elop’s LGBTQ+ Children & Young People’s Service.

In this role you will have opportunity to design and deliver innovative youth support programmes, groups & other activities; provide LGBTQ+ affirmative support, guidance and mentoring on a one- to- one basis; work with our wider family work programme, support families with LGBTQ+ children and deliver work in schools to students & teaching staff.

You will have lead responsibility for our LGBTQ+ Young Peoples Service, including promotion, & administration, along with the induction, support & supervision of sessional staff & volunteers. 

Initially you will be working remotely via home-based working whilst elop relocates its offices & centre transitioning back to fulltime in-person working & service provision during 2024.  Some services are in person in East London. 

Full Time: 37 hours per week
