Job description

Role Overview:
The Talent Set is thrilled to working with a leading international development charity as they hunt for an Internal Communications and Engagement Officer to support them for a 2–4-month period.

This role will involve implementing key changes to support the organisation's vision of empowering employees through enhanced engagement and effective communications, while also leading internal communications strategies and ensuring alignment with diversity commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Central point of contact for internal inquiries, providing advice and support, escalating when necessary.
  • Manage internal communications inbox, responding or delegating as appropriate.
  • Coordinate communication channels and oversee the charity’s communications.
  • Facilitate induction training for new starters.
  • Maintain positive relationships with networks and stakeholders.
  • Assist with content creation, ensuring alignment with Diversity, Equity, and Empowerment commitments.
  • Support implementation of new digital communication channels.
  • Manage intranet, email schedules, and all-staff communications.
  • Organise Monday Morning Meetings and implement new digital platforms.
  • Establish metrics, monitor engagement, and provide analysis.
  • Provide support for meetings, events, and projects.


Person Specification:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating accuracy and a sharp eye for detail, along with the capability to produce high-quality content.
  • Excellent IT literacy in Microsoft Office 365 (such as Office suite, SharePoint Online, Viva Engage, Stream Sway, Power BI).
  • Highly organised, able to prioritise, plan and manage own time and workload.
  • An innovative self-starter, creative with a willingness to try new ideas.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to engage and collaborate with a wide variety of contacts across the organisation.
  • Ability to work across cultures and time zones, and with people for whom English is not a first language.
  • A commitment to the organisation’s mission and our values (respect, innovation, courage, collaboration, accountability and integrity) and a working style that reflects these.
  • Commitment to personal learning and development, including in the area of Diversity, Equity and Empowerment, and a real desire to achieve own objectives and those of the team and organisation.
