Job description

Role Overview 
The Talent Set are delighted to be partnering with the British Academy on a fantastic Communications and Content Officer role.  

This is an exciting opportunity to join the organisation as they enter their 125th anniversary and are about to embark on a new Strategic Plan.  

The position involves developing engaging content and delivering communication plans and narratives to support the organisation’s communications and fundraising objectives and enhance its public profile among policy, stakeholder and donor audiences. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Create and manage a range of communication materials, including newsletters, social media content, and reports including the Annual Report. 

  • Support the development and delivery of messaging strategies to promote organisational initiatives and activities to policy, stakeholder and donor audiences. 

  • Work closely with our Development team to support a new fundraising campaign through tailored communications to donor audiences 

  • Collaborate and build relationships with colleagues across multiple teams to ensure consistent and accurate messaging across all channels. 

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communications, suggesting improvements as needed. 

  • Maintain and update relevant content on websites and digital platforms to ensure information is current and accessible. 

  • Assist in planning and executing promotional campaigns and events. 

  • Gather and interpret audience feedback and engagement data to: 

  • inform future communications 

  • report to key stakeholders, internal and external. 

Person Specification 

  • Proven experience in content creation, editing, or communications roles. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences. 

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. 

  • Familiarity with digital content management systems and social media platforms. 

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. 

  • Creative thinker with an eye for detail and a commitment to clarity and quality. 

  • Flexible, adaptable, and eager to learn new skills.
