This role is based at our centre a short walk from Clapham Common tube station, in London. We support homeless people from the local area and further afield. Our services are open access, so the people who come to the Ace of Clubs are diverse and from multiple walks of life. Consequently their needs can be complex, so we are looking for a skilled communicator who can support people, many of who live chaotic lifestyles. Our purpose at the Ace of Clubs is to address people’s basic human needs by providing food, clothing, toiletries, and practical support. We help people link up with housing, healthcare, education, and employment. Our Support Workers work to help individuals overcome barriers to achieving wellbeing, whether it be through guidance in the support system, learning new skills or supporting service users to build the confidence and skills to enable them to navigate their life challenges and advocate for themselves. KEY DUTIES

• To participate in the provision of advice and advocacy for service users addressing their needs in the following areas; Housing; Welfare; Health; Education; Employment, (this list is not exhaustive);

As a Family Support Co-ordinator you will join our team of compassionate, experienced Family Support Co-ordinators, working to build strong relationships with local families facing complex challenges; 

• You will work one-to-one with families to identify their needs, match them to a trained volunteer and regularly review their progress. 

• You will provide on-going support and supervision to skilled, diverse volunteers, and work hard to build and maintain links with referring partners throughout our communities, ensuring holistic support for families. 

• As needs are identified, you will work together with our team of Family Support Co-ordinators to develop and facilitate supportive groups and activities for families.

Responsible for:  CHWS Crisis Support Workers and Recovery Space Workers

Hours: 36 hours per week (full time) worked within a 7-day rota (7days a week/365 days a year) The current service operates a daytime service, 9.00am – 6.00pm and evening service 3.00pm – 11.00pm

Location: Main place of work will be Fairfield House, 10 Altyre Road, East Croydon.  Some of the team will be based at Croydon Health and Wellbeing Space at the Whitgift Centre, Croydon (and other locations that may be used in the future) and the Outreach Worker will be predominantly working from the Community Hubs around the Borough.

Mind in Croydon is a charity concerned with the welfare of people with mental health problems living in the London Borough of Croydon and the surrounding areas. Mind in Croydon delivers Mental Health Transformation Program services alongside Croydon BME Forum, these include Croydon Health and Wellbeing Space and Mental Health Personal Independence Coordinators. Other services include Recovery Space, Advocacy, Active Minds, Carers Support, Peer Support In-Reach, Social Networking, Counselling, and an Information Service.

This exciting role will manage the provision of a non-clinical Recovery Space (crisis café) funded by South London Partnership Commissioning. This project operates in the day and evenings, people are referred by our Trusted Assessors in various Teams such as Croydon University Hospital, Psychiatric Liaison, Assessment and Liaison, Croydon College, Home Treatment Team and others.

The aim of the service is to divert people, who would be better supported elsewhere, away from Accident and Emergency (A&E) and towards services that can support with their immediate crisis within the Borough of Croydon. The Recovery Space Service Manager leads this service which is non-clinical but a warm and welcoming setting to support and hold individuals during the day and evening. The Recovery Space service referrals will not be accepted after 10pm for attendance at night.

The role will work closely at senior operational level with external partners, clinical, commissioning, and voluntary sector organisations to plan, develop and promote the highest quality service. They will manage a team of nine staff, three are Crisis Workers, operating a day service, one outreach crisis worker also operating during the day and five Recovery Space Workers in the evening.  The role will need to produce reports, develop, and implement policies and procedures in line with best practice and to ensure the service is making a difference to people’s lives.  The role will work with other service managers including those managers within the Transformation services to ensure a One Team approach to provide an effective and efficient service for clients.

The role has been designed to ensure that the experiences, perspectives and ideas of local people are being listened to and acted upon.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working within communities and knowledge of the barriers that people face to achieving mental wellbeing and accessing services. You'll be confident, creative and able to work autonomously in the community, where you'll communicate with a wide range of people and quickly build rapport.

The focus of the role will be to ensure that more people with lived experience of poor mental health know who Lancashire Mind are, what we do and how they can influence our work. You'll work with the Community Engagement Projects Lead to create a range of opportunities for people to participate, including establishing formal structures, for example a lived experience panel and youth advisory group, which you'll design with the people who want to get involved. You'll work with colleagues across all teams to ensure opportunities to influence Lancashire Mind's work are promoted to everyone who uses our services.

The role

As National Support Coordinator you will provide support to our members living with a rare neuromuscular condition, myasthenia, their families, and carers. You will work alongside three additional National Support Coordinators and a Benefits and Welfare Officer, ensuring our members receive the support they need, via telephone, zoom meetings and email.

Who are we?

Myaware is the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to the care and support of people affected by myasthenia. 

We are working hard to raise awareness, as it is a little-unknown condition. We provide support for people with myasthenia and their families, whilst offering advice and tips for living with the illness. 

We also fund the research that brings us closer to finding a cure as well as funding specialists nurses and advisors.

As a Senior PBS Practitioner, you will be passionate about improving the quality of life of autistic children and young people working with the transdisciplinary team to improve outcomes for children and young people. Job Purpose

This role is within our crisis alternative service Safe Space - an out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. The service operates 365 days a year from 12:00pm (midday) - 11:30pm across all of our boroughs. The role will consist of two shift patterns to ensure the service is covered: 11:30am-6:30pm and 4:30-11:30pm. This will be on a rota basis across support workers.

Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone on a one-to-one or group basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis. This will consist of 1:1 support; de-escalating and providing interventions, signposting for specialised or longer-term support, and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing. The aim of this service is to de-escalate and prevent further crises.

The objectives of the service include:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health crisis in HFEH.
• To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation, planned wellbeing activities etc.
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To treat service users with respect, dignity and personalised support
• To raise awareness of mental health services available with the goal to improve long term mental health and reduce social isolation
• To increase self-management skills of those accessing the service
• To reduce the use of police, ambulance and statutory mental health services whilst experiencing crisis.
• To reduce the use of statutory crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health without positive outcomes for the individual.

The Role

The role of the support workers will be to support the rest of the team in delivering interventions on a one-to-one and group basis. The role will also involve triaging and assessing all clients accessing the service, signposting and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing.

Collaborative Pathway Development: Partner with Complex Emotional Needs (CEN) team to deliver operational pathways that guide service delivery, ensuring seamless transitions within the Acute Therapy Service (ATS) model.

Overview of Role:

As a Support Worker, you will be working with young people aged 12-25 years old who have experience of self-harm. Within that age group, you will predominantly be working with young people under 18. The post would suit an experienced support worker, preferably with knowledge of the issues experienced by young people who are trans / non-binary.

You will play a key role in providing them with support and advocacy both on a one to-one basis and within a group setting; working with them to develop their emotional skills which will allow them to cope more effectively with the difficulties in their lives. The nature of the work means role that the successful candidate must focus on inclusivity for the young people.

The successful candidate will have considerable experience in working with young people aged 12-25 and will enjoy the challenge of working with adolescents in difficult circumstances. You will need to be able to work within a non-discriminatory framework, ensuring the services are provided in a qualitative, responsive, and accessible manner.

The Amber Project exists to support any young person (aged 14-25) in Cardiff and the surrounding areas who has experience of self-harm. With our Constellation element working with young people aged 12-25. Since The Amber project was established in 2002 individual support and creative
workshops have been key elements of our work with young people.

Salary: £13,406 per annum (£26,812.00 per annum FTE).

Hours:  20 hours per week. Working pattern to be agreed with the line manager but will include late afternoons and early evenings to facilitate meeting with young people outside of school hours and attending workshops. Occasional weekends.

Overall Responsibilities

• Facilitate educational and direct support programs, through data-driven research and community engagement

• Create a stable foundation for projects, events, and development

• Organise, run and develop The Vavengers award-winning support & wellness hubs for women and girls

• Manage referral process connecting women and girls with other organisations and local authorities

• Develop bids and secure grants to cover core and project costs

• Manage the nationwide expansion of the support hub model 

• Build and maintain partnerships with aligned stakeholders

• Lead and improve community projects through concept development, fundraising and relationship management

• Support the C-suite with business development in line with the business plan

• Support the wider team on events & campaign management 

Day-to-day tasks

• Organise, run and report on support & wellness hubs for women and girls, and be the face of the support hub programme 

• Support the community through referrals to local authorities and partner organisations on housing, immigration, food security and access to other essential services. Following up and communicating with beneficiaries throughout the process 

• Identify and eliminate safeguarding risks

• Identify need gaps within communities and fulfil crisis and emergency management plans, help prepare the organisation for unexpected urgent response work

• Amplify the voice of the communities we support 

• Identify and highlight the ongoing issues faced by the women and girls we support with the team and external stakeholders

• Organise and manage programme facilitators and role-related volunteers

• Map out fundraising opportunities and secure funding through written grant applications and manage funding processes from start to end including mid and end-journey reports 

• Develop and maintain the existing community ambassadorship programme by listening to community needs and helping to implement solutions

• Maintain strong relationships. Including with Community Ambassadors, Wellness Ambassadors, programme facilitators, existing or potential partners and funders, and be a reliable point of contact for seamless communication

• Expand community engagement through offsite outreach and partnerships with local councils, grassroots organisations, healthcare professionals, community leaders and sector partners (*The Vavengers works with over 150 partnerships across the UK)

• Work collaboratively to ensure that new programs align with the charity’s mission, vision and purpose

• Be an active advocate for The Vavengers mission and community

Additional Responsibilities

• Oversee governance activities of volunteers (volunteer contracts, reports and management)

• Managing DBS clearances and background checks for the required board, staff and volunteers and acting as one of the safeguarding officers of the organisation

• Assist with and contribute to offsite educational workshops where appropriate

• Organising the sourcing and delivery of essential items from partners

• Managing project budgets and an expense account

Checks and training: Please note, that this role will be subject to a clear DBS check. The Vavengers will also provide mandatory training required by the role including Safeguarding for Children and Vulnerable Adults Level 3, Gender-Based Violence training, language and terminology and necessary software training.

Walking With The Wounded supports those who have served in the Armed Forces and their families.  We specialise in developing pathways into employment with organisations who recognise and value the unique skills and qualities of our ex-service personnel. 

For this role, your caseload will be received from the NHS.

It is recognised that secure and appropriate employment is a key factor for improved mental health, therefore, you will form part of that individual’s wider support team in providing the specialist employment support element. You will be expected to work closely with referring partners, meeting regularly to feedback on the progress with individual service users. You will also need to work with local organisations; developing a bank of employers who are willing to explore supporting your clients, securing work placement opportunities, identifying any necessary training, sourcing competitive roles and, where this is successful, providing in-work support to both employer and employee to ensure a smooth transition.

If you are an employment advisor with an understanding of working with more complex clients, we would like to hear from you. We are also open to applications from those who are newer to IPS. You should fully appreciate the patience, resilience and self-motivation that are required to support a dispersed and diverse caseload of complex individuals. The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently, particularly in managing time and caseload, whilst recognising that they are one crucial element of a wider team of support who will need to work collaboratively to get the best outcome for clients. Experience of working with veterans would be beneficial although not essential, and knowledge and experience of the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) method of working would be welcomed.
