Having become an independent charity in April 2023, The Christie Charity has since been building its own identity, team and infrastructure. Now a growing organisation of more than 40 people, the charity has ambitious plans for further growth. • Work alongside the Charity Grants Manager to support the financial monitoring of grant awards, including tracking funding requests, preparing award letters and monitoring expenditure against grant terms.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting, including income and expenditure, restricted and unrestricted fund balances, and budget versus actual variance analysis.
  • Take ownership of the financial reporting and control of the charity's two wholly owned subsidiaries.
  • Prepare statutory accounts for both subsidiaries and take responsibility for associated regulatory submissions.
  • Play an active role in the implementation and use of the charity's new finance system.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A recognised professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • The ability to interpret and present financial information clearly, building relationships with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • A background working in either a management accounting or finance business partnering capacity.
  • Ideally, experience working within a charity or not-for-profit environment.
  • A proactive and self-starting approach, with the confidence to take ownership of responsibilities, solve problems independently and adapt to a changing environment.
  • Ideally, experience of supporting with the preparation of statutory accounts.

Experience of funds or grants management would be particularly advantageous but not essential. Candidates with a strong technical accounting background from practice who are looking to develop their business partnering experience are also encouraged to apply!
