Our staff are vital to delivering quality services and this role will include direct line management of Key Workers. You will also ensure the safe and effective day to day running of the service, and will support the Service Manager to ensure the service delivers against performance outcomes.

You will have an in depth understanding of substance use, harm reduction and treatment modalities, as well as experience of managing people. The most important thing you’ll bring to this role is your desire and ability to support staff, and make a positive difference to people’s lives.

You will have good Microsoft Office skills and be able to manage your own diary efficiently and proactively. You will have integrity, enthusiasm, and a passion to make a difference.

The Bury Intensive Support Service has been developed to provide a bespoke supported living service for adults over the age of 18, with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health and complex needs. The adults accepted into the service have been identified through the Transforming Care Agenda.

This service operates 24/7, using a trauma-informed and case-management model of care, to provide support and opportunities for increased independence for three adults. We have developed a new and exciting role of Support Coordinator to provide operational leadership of the service in a sensitive and dynamic way. 

Staff members recruited will initially be required to work between our Registered Office, the service, and current care provision to ensure our service users experience a well-planned transition into their new home.

The Naval Children’s Charity (NCC) are dedicated to improving the wellbeing and development of Naval children and young people.  We provide a wealth of support, guidance and resources to help dependant children (up to and including the age of 25) whose parents/guardians serve or have served in the Royal Navy and who are in need, hardship or distress. With a team of caseworkers in Portsmouth, Helensburgh and Plymouth, we offer financial assistance, free resources and a range of opportunities to address the challenges that the children and young people face as a result of their parents’ service.

Purpose of job

Caseworkers provide support and advice to eligible individuals in line with the policies of the Naval Children’s Charity.  They work closely with other organisations to ensure that children and families receive appropriate and prompt support.

Responsibilities and duties

1. Triage casework

a. Act as the first point of contact for the Casework team and beneficiaries.

b. Contact beneficiaries in response to initial enquiries

c. Complete an initial assessment of need

d. Follow up with beneficiaries at regular intervals

e. Keep up to date with developments in legislation, the benefits system and have an awareness of the MOD allowance system

2. Confidentiality

a. Ensure confidential handling of all information concerning beneficiaries in line with the Naval Children’s Charity Data Protection policies

b. Keep thorough, confidential and systematic record of all matters concerning beneficiaries

3. Internal co-operation and external collaboration

a. To be aware of the work of the Naval Children’s Charity and the challenges and experiences of our Naval children and young people

b. Enable colleagues to achieve objectives through effective and collaborative working

c. Work in partnership with colleagues in the military, volunteer and children’s sectors in order to provide the best possible outcomes for our families

4. General

a. Represent The Naval Children’s Charity externally as required

b. To monitor and evaluate activities against agreed outcomes

c. To liaise closely with other Naval Children’s Charity staff in supporting the aims and objectives of the organisation

d. Carry out any other duties commensurate with the post as identified by your line manager

The role:
We’re seeking a Visitor Operations Supervisor—a detail-oriented, people-focused professional who can balance exceptional customer service with the effective coordination of a wide range of administrative duties.

This is a key role within our busy Visitor and Audience Operations team, supporting the smooth delivery of events, performances, and tours. You’ll take the lead in administrating our volunteer programme and ensuring seamless communication, scheduling, and compliance across the department.

• Excellent computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Office 

• Confident in a busy and fast paced customer facing environment

Desirable Skills & Experience:

• Confident first aider with safeguarding awareness

• Previous work in theatre, cultural or heritage environments 

The team:
The Visitor and Audience Operations (VAO) department is at the heart of delivering exceptional experiences for all who visit Shakespeare’s Globe. Responsible for front-facing operations and visitor experience across the site, the department encompasses our visitor attraction offer; our tours and exhibition space delivered by Guides and Visitor Operations Assistants; a large Volunteer Steward team operating across our two performance spaces, and event support.  

Working closely with departments such as Retail, Learning, and Theatre, the VAO team ensures that every audience member, visitor, and participant receives a warm welcome and enjoys a safe, accessible, and engaging experience. The team operates across a seven-day schedule, including daytime and evening activities in all weathers, and plays a crucial role in maintaining the Globe’s reputation for excellence in customer service and visitor engagement.
