Purpose of the Children and Young People Training Coordinator role: 

As Children and Young People Training Coordinator, the successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting the Children and Young People (CYP) team with the daily functions that are necessary to enable the CYP work (What Works and Expect Respect programmes) to run smoothly and includes the effective and strategic support for training structures by being the key contact for external coordination with schools and the assistance of training delivery. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and running the effective implementation and maintenance of administrative structures, systems, and processes.

Key duties and responsibilities of the Children and Young People Training Coordinator:

• To act as the point of contact and reference for training officers, schools and other internal and external partners and customers
• To organise the timetabling, travel and logistics, materials and other relevant support to the ensure the smooth delivery of the programme.
• To ensure that payments, invoicing and purchases and expenses are accurately processed to always ensure financial accountability.
• To track the impact of the programme delivery and maintain accurate records that can support reporting to the Accountable lead, the board and to funders.
• To maintain the team’s risk register and ensure that data is stored and managed in line with GDPR and confidentiality.
• To support the service in any other way necessary within the parameters of the role.

Purpose of the Job 

To support in both the design & creation and the day to day running & implementation of Felix's Kitchen new employability programme and then be the key driving force behind delivering these programmes. 

You will be leading a team of chef apprentices, providing them with hands on skills training created by yourself alongside the accredited course, supporting them with functional skills training, being their day-to-day line manager and supporting other employability programmes within the Felix Project in particular Felix’s Kitchen other programmes.  

You will work alongside the wider Felix Kitchen team and support your programme to integrate into the main production kitchen. You will take a leading role in supporting Felix’s Kitchen at events and engagement opportunities, supporting the apprentices being a huge part of these events, both on and off site. The training kitchen will be your base and you will be responsible for the safe and effective running of this part of the kitchen, maximising its impact on the programmes as well as exploring other opportunities for its use, hosting visitors and charity partners. You will be a key part of all reporting and evaluations of our employability programmes.

 About the role:

The overall aim of all Register Preparation Training is to ensure that the professionals who deliver UK-Med’s responses are well prepared, know what to expect, and deliver the best possible responses resulting in positive health outcomes for the patients and communities we serve.

The Training Officer plays an essential role in ensuring that UK-Med delivers high-quality Preparation Training to our global workforce, which consists of both Core Staff and a Register of approx. 1200 healthcare professionals from all over the world. The Training Officer works closely with the Programme Manager – Training and Learning Design Specialist on preparing, coordinating and delivering highly interactive in-person simulation exercises, scenario-based tabletop exercises, and online exercises, training sessions and workshops from UK-Med’s training portfolio, and in contributing actively to learning and improvement for all training.

The Training Officer is a skilled trainer with a particular interest and/ or experience in delivering simulation-based training, adventure/ outdoor education, etc., weaving practical skills-building into scenarios which are evolving in real time. Background:

First Step Trust (FST) is a charity that provides work experience, training and employment opportunities for people excluded from working life because of mental health problems or other disadvantages (workforce members).

Our approach is about giving workforce members the chance to overcome some of the difficulties facing them by getting them involved as colleagues. Training and Projects Officer

Location: The role is based at the Trust’s office in West Berkshire with a minimum of three days per week expected to be worked at our Newbury office. Flexible working arrangements are available with the understanding that this must meet the objectives of the charity and requirements of the role.

Purpose

This is an interesting and important position at the Trust, with the postholder taking responsibility for a range of administrative and project management tasks supporting our Education programme, working to both the Education Project Manager and the Trust’s Head of Programmes.

Our Education Programme is our body of charitable activity delivering training and resources appropriate for schools, colleges and universities, often working with education institutions to create a whole school/college approach to promote good mental health in students and staff alike.

The postholder will be the first point of contact for our training team, enabling our mental health training delivery to take place. There will be opportunities to play a key role in monitoring and evaluation, and obtain a good understanding of the sector. This is a key role in ensuring the Trust and its activities are serviced with robust, reliable and up-to-date evidence and information.

You’ll need to be confident in dealing with the charity’s delivery partners and beneficiaries, both over the telephone and face to face. You’ll enjoy working with and supporting our trainer and office teams, and be super organised and proactive. Key responsibilities and duties

• Work closely with and provide administrative support to the Education Programme.

About the Mint House

Our aim at the Mint House is that restorative justice and practice become embedded within organisations and communities, being seen as a natural part of 'how we do things' across a range of settings.  We work towards this through events and communications designed to introduce restorative justice and practice to new audiences and share learning on effective practice, by providing training and support, through network building, thought leadership and practical projects. Among examples:

• helped by the appointment of a part-time communications officer in 2021 we now have a 500+ strong network of event participants and supporters from across sectors and extending round the globe (though with a sizeable Oxfordshire contingent).
• since 2021 we have trained over 200 managers and staff from Oxfordshire County Council's children's workforce (social workers, family support workers etc) in restorative practice, backing up training with reflective practice sessions and practical resources.  More recently, we have been providing similar training and support for colleagues in forensic mental health settings. We are an accredited training provider with the Restorative Justice Council.
• many of our events have a network-building dimension. We also specifically facilitate a network of UK-based colleagues working to create restorative communities and cities, and a network of communications specialists working in our field.
• with support from the Westhill Endowment, we recently hosted two sets of research and practice dialogues, bringing people from diverse backgrounds together to explore what’s involved in embedding restorative practice in organisations and communities.
• we are currently working with partners from across Oxford to pilot use of restorative approaches to reduce evictions of former rough sleepers from supported accommodation.

Training & Projects Officer role

Context

In 2023 we drew up a new strategy and business plan. This exercise underlined that the transformational change we want to see depends on us collaborating with many different organisations and communities, exploring with them what it means to be restorative in their context then working with them to make and learn from the changes needed.

Through our work so far we have encountered many potential collaboration partners.  Working alongside our part-time Communications and Events Officer your role as Training and Projects Officer will be to help us implement existing partnership projects and develop new ones. We have funding available to support this post for 12 months initially but aim to make the role sustainable as new projects come onstream.

We expect the role to be home based, but with a need to visit clients/project partners and attend meetings/events in Oxford or the surrounding area on a regular basis.  Wider travel to partner events/meetings may also be required from time to time.

Purpose

Support the delivery and further development of ‘on the ground' initiatives demonstrating the difference restorative justice and practice can make to building healthy relationships and promoting peace and reconciliation. As part of this, orchestrate delivery of training and support contracts.

Key responsibilities

a. Manage implementation of existing ‘on the ground’ projects, notably including our Matilda House trailblazer housing project.

b. Co-ordinate delivery of training and support, liaising with clients to understand delivery requirements and with in-house and associate trainers to confirm their availability.

c. Support the team of associate trainers, ensuring they are well prepared and supported, with access to continuing development and opportunities for reflective practice.

d. Ensure the quality of training, including ensuring the continuing development of materials and that training is tailored to the delivery setting. 

e. Work with trustees to shape and introduce new projects, including liaising with partners, drawing up project plans and budgets and laying the groundwork for new projects as they come onstream.  As part of this, and as time allows, input into funding applications

f. Monitor project and training delivery and spend, capturing learning and reporting as required to trustees and external funders.

g. Work closely with the Communications and Events Officer, supporting completion of key tasks as required.

About the role:

We have two events-based roles to support our training and development courses. These courses are delivered either face-to-face or hybrid and are often delivered by a team of the organisation’s members. We use tools such as WebEx, MS Teams and Slido to support the delivery. There is an agreed schedule for the rest of 2024 for our public (open) training plus some bespoke, in-house training to be agreed upon with clients. More about the role

We are looking for a talented behaviour advisor who has a thorough understanding of reward-based training techniques, who will be working with pets in our care (be it on site, in foster, or post adoption). Working under the guidance of an Animal Behaviourist, you will be implementing and facilitating rehabilitation programmes practically, as well as advising and coaching centre teams who work with the pets in our care.  

 No two days will be the same – from working with an owner with a problem they are having with their pet to team training, to supporting a pet on site, to collaborating with your peers across Blue Cross – if you are looking for a dynamic role which helps people and pets and is at the forefront of animal welfare, then this might be the role for you. 

This role is predominantly Monday to Friday, 35 hours a week, although there will be occasions to meet the needs of the pets and people to sometimes travel to other sites, and to undertake duties outside of these hours. 

About you

You will be a confident, adaptable and compassionate animal handler and trainer who enjoys working with a diverse range of people and pets. With excellent communication skills and an understanding of animal behaviour, you will be skilled at teaching and demonstrating training techniques and advising our teams and pet owners on some behaviour issues. In addition, you will thrive working collaboratively with others and have a desire to improve the experience of the pets in our care. 

 
Knowledge, skills, and experience  

Demonstrable experience of: 

• Pet behaviour and training techniques, and evidence of success in understanding pet behaviour / training problems  
• Carrying out behaviour and training programmes for dogs, across a variety of breeds and temperaments 
• Developing training programmes and delivering to owners / caregivers that are practical and realistic for a pet owner to understand and undertake independently 
• Full UK driving licence 
• The ability to demonstrate, understand and apply our Blue Cross values 

It would also be great if you had: 

• Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC) standard of Animal Training Instructor (ATI) qualification or working towards
