About Us

At Epilepsy Action, we are inclusive, ambitious, supportive, and committed to creating a world without limits for people with epilepsy.

As we achieve the goals in our 2024 – 2030 strategy, we are excited to welcome you to our passionate, supportive and committed team.

We understand the importance of a work life balance, and that's why we have a number of ways to support our people to achieve this. By operating a flexible and supportive approach, we empower people to work in a way that suits them that also meets the need of the charity.

If you are interested in building a career you can be proud of in an inclusive and ambitious organisation we might have the role for you!

About the Role

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of people affected by long term health conditions? Do you have a talent for offering support and guidance that empowers individuals with the information, confidence and resources to advocate for themselves? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

Our new Information and Support Hub model provides vital advice and information to those living with epilepsy, as well as their families, carers, healthcare professionals, and other key supporters. Delivered through multiple channels including telephone, webchat, and email, the service is a lifeline for those seeking reliable and compassionate assistance.

As an Advice and Support Officer, you will play a key role in offering support to those individuals who need it most. You’ll provide confidential advice, resources, and support, empowering people to navigate their challenges with confidence and making referrals to our other services. Every conversation you have will make a lasting impact, helping individuals manage their epilepsy and improve their quality of life.

At Epilepsy Action we recognise the power of collaboration and teamwork, so our team members with hybrid contracts are required to work a minimum of 40% of their time at our office in Yeadon, Leeds. On average this is 2 days a week on Mondays and Thursdays, for full-time employees.

Because regular face-to-face collaboration is an important part of this role, applicants should be based within a reasonable commuting distance of our Yeadon office and be able to attend the office as required.

The expectation to collaborate in person is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do, which may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to help us create a world without limits for people with epilepsy.

About You?

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to be involved at the heart of the service delivery. You will need:

  • Compassion and empathy with strong communication skills and the ability to work with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds.
  • Experience of working in relevant customer care environment providing advice and information by telephone, social media / online.
  • A positive, can do approach, able to be flexible as we continue to adapt the service to meet the needs of the epilepsy community.

If you are ready to contribute to a meaningful cause, providing invaluable support to those who need it most, we encourage you to apply!

Join us and help transform lives.
