You will lead on the development of the visitor engagement programme at London Wetland Centre and ensure we are audience focused by:
- creating experiences for people that nurture a deeper connection and understanding of wetlands.
- ensuring visitors have the chance to enjoy a diverse range of experiences and activities and be inspired to take action.
- looking at new ways to attract a wider range of people and enable them all to connect with wetland nature through the interactions they have on site.
London Wetland Centre has a key role to realise our strategy and the new Visitor Engagement Manager will make an important contribution to our goals.
About You
To join as our Visitor Engagement Manager you'll bring:
- Extensive experience in visitor engagement and creating and delivering visitor programmes
- Experience of communicating different topics to diverse audiences, including individuals and groups of all ages and abilities
- Experience of managing or leading teams of staff and volunteers; and providing effective leadership, including giving feedback and developing performance
- Experience of managing programmes of events and activities with a commercial focus and ability to analyse and interpret data
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding and extensive experience of creating visitor programmes and ensuring commercial performance. We would welcome applications from visitor attractions, creative arts, or visitor engagement roles whilst also having excellent commercial knowledge. We are looking for someone with a broad skill set who is passionate about connecting people to nature, with a commercial focus.

North Bristol & South Gloucestershire (NBSG) Foodbank has operated for 12 years, providing emergency food parcels to people in crisis in the local community. Recently, we have shifted our focus to go beyond food and try to tackle the root causes of food insecurity. One goal of our new strategy is to change minds, change policy and create empathy about poverty. The Campaign Coordinator is responsible for working towards this goal by delivering the Trussell Trust’s (TT) influencing and mobilising work during the General Election (GE). You will do this by building strong relationships with other food banks in the Bristol & South Gloucestershire area. Campaign Coordinators implement TT’s national GE strategy, by using Organising techniques to put pressure on Prospective Parliamentary Candidates (PPCs) in each Combined Local Authority.
You will lead local community teams of people who support ending the need for food banks, to secure commitments from your PPCs to ‘prioritise the problem of people going without essentials if re/elected, acknowledging the role social security needs to play in tackling it.’
This role is funded by TT as part of their GE strategy, and you will be part of a network of Campaign Coordinators around the UK doing this work. You will serve as the link between NBSG Foodbank and the Mobilisation team at TT, as we build a movement to end the need for food banks.

Roles & Responsibilities:

To build trusted relationships with food banks during (pre and post) UK General Election. You will hold 121 conversations with each food bank in the Bristol & South Gloucestershire area and ensure there is clear communication between the food banks.

To support teams of community volunteers. You will have 121’s with: food bank staff, volunteers, partner organisations and stakeholders in each community to develop community bases for your campaign work.

To lead effective door-knocking teams in your community. You will door knock with your community campaign team to drum up support for the campaign, provide members of the public literature on food bank use in their local community, and invite people to their local hustings.

To help each of your community campaign teams organise a local hustings. You will ensure that your community campaign teams: attend national TT webinars, receive national guidance on how to approach PPCs, understand the TT legal GE guidance, understand the logistics of organising a hustings, ensure that the hustings is as accessible as possible and ensure that the voices of people with lived experience are heard through the hustings.

Role Description
As Volunteer Programmes Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing the successful delivery of projects in the Decorate A Child's Life (DACL) and Adventure Play Partnership (APP) volunteering programmes. Your role will include managing the day-to-day operations for Volunteer Programmes, oversight of programme coordination, reviewing and updating procedures on a rolling basis and keeping good records, including financial monitoring and collecting impact data for regular reporting. This role may at times include attending site visits to scope projects, and leading and supervising groups of volunteers during project installations.
You will work closely with fundraising colleagues to match partners/corporate volunteer groups to projects, and from time to time you’ll contribute to scoping new opportunities to adapt our offer for potential partnership pitches. Our Corporate Partnerships Manager will be a key colleague, as you’ll work together to plan and organise volunteering opportunities and to plan and implement a high-quality volunteer experience that ultimately helps the charity to secure income generation corporate partnerships. You’ll need to take a lead role in monitoring and reporting on progress, including the expenditure budget for project delivery, the level of delivery and the capturing of feedback from both beneficiaries and volunteers.

Key duties and responsibilities:

- When necessary, conducting site visits to family homes and youth/community centres prior to project delivery (this will require travel within London).

About Community Counselling:
The charity was established in 2013. It provides free therapeutic interventions such as counselling, play and creative art therapy, and EMDR (trauma) treatment to vulnerable people living in North Yorkshire, including children who have been the victim of crime. The clinical team consists of over 30 part-time practitioners, being a mixture of staff, volunteers (including trainees) and sessional workers. Last year we helped over 800 people with a wide range of mental health issues.

Head to Toe, the charity of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT), has been awarded a 3-year grant to support patients receiving end of life care. This is a partnership between Head to Toe, CPFT voluntary services, NHS community nursing teams, and charity end of life volunteering specialists, the Anne Robson Trust.
Working alongside healthcare services, you will co-ordinate a group of compassionate, dedicated volunteers, who will support members of their local community in the last months of life, providing company, comfort and companionship to patients across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
You may have experience in similar projects, or come from a clinical background, but will understand and champion the role of volunteers in enhancing NHS services and patient experiences. You will be passionate about this type of work, and understand the importance of helping people to have a 'good' death.
The successful candidate will need experience within volunteer administration in addition to excellent organisational, communication and networking skills. Bespoke training will be provided by the Anne Robson Trust, as well as ongoing support to help the post-holder recruit and train volunteers.

Groundswell Project is seeking to recruit community connectors to work on a Big Lottery funded project called ‘Together we are’. This project seeks to implement Groundswell’s ‘Find, Connect, Amplify’ approach in four cities in the UK, namely London, Manchester, Glasgow and Luton. These roles are tasked with mapping community based groups in their respective cities, offering them support, connecting them with local statutory partners and putting on events that allow said groups to expand their outreach in the local area. Ultimately, the aim of the role is to ensure local community groups are better connected, much more visible and, thus, more effective. We are currently recruiting for a Luton based connector.

Birmingham Young People’s Service provides holistic support services for young people 10 to 25 with needs related to alcohol and substance misuse, including those that are affected by a family members alcohol and substance misuse.
All Complex Needs Practitioners are expected to work days, evenings, and weekends across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings, when required. Which will need a flexible working pattern from the successful candidate. The caseload will include a mixture of community and multi-agency referral pathways including health, social care, education, youth provision, and criminal justice.
As an energetic and confident self-starter, you will have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or above, Dip SW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies). Alternatively, we will consider candidates with experience of working in the health & social care field, education settings, alcohol, and substance misuse fields with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care.
Experience of liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals and engaging effectively with clients in a variety of settings is essential. You will also need a flexible approach, excellent record keeping and report writing skills. We also work on an outreach basis, with a central hub base at our head office.
