About the role

We are looking for someone to lead an exciting project commissioned by Central North West London (CNWL) to improve health outcomes for people with autism in Brent.

The Autism Care Navigator project will improve access to pre and post diagnostic support for Brent residents on the Adult Autism Assessment waiting list. The Project will work closely with the Brent LD community team, other healthcare providers including primary care, and Brent residents.

The post holder will offer care navigation support to individuals, helping people to access health and social care services and improving understanding of what services are available. They will collect people’s stories and experiences, run consultations and focus groups and feed into wider consultation, working to address system issues. The role will also involve sitting on relevant strategic boards and groups to make sure that experiences and challenges of people with autism in Brent are included in decision making.

Using your experience of working with autistic people, you may also support other staff and services to improve how they work with and support autistic people.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to referrals accurately and efficiently.
• Raise awareness of the project to maximise participation and engagement.
• Communicate in an appropriate and sensitive manner to gain an understanding of an individual’s health and signpost accordingly.
• Provide information, support or signposting for people with autism in order to inform or empower individuals on issues about their health.
• Develop and maintain an accurate record of health and social care organisations and associated referral processes.
• Develop, organise and run focus and awareness groups for people with autism and their families and carers to improve awareness of health conditions.
• Develop and support accessible user involvement opportunities, including focus groups and workshops, so that autistic people can share feedback, influence the service and help improve local support.
• Develop and support an effective advisory group of autistic people to help inform and improve the service.
• Work according to the Equality Act 2010 and other forms of legislation that combat discrimination and promote equality and diversity.
• Develop good working relationships with key staff within health and social care services.
• Meet case-working standards, reporting and monitoring requirements.
• Undertake any other tasks and duties as required.

About the Giving Directorate and Net Zero Carbon Programme

The Giving Directorate has four teams: Innovation & Insight (leading on innovations, the parish share project, data analysis and marketing); Parish Giving Scheme (giving mechanisms and technology); NZC Fundraising (including policy, philanthropy and gifts in wills) and Learning & Development (delivering training, mentoring, and equipping clergy and diocesan giving advisors, national and regional conferences, and developing online learning resources for parishes).
You will sit within the Net Zero Carbon Fundraising team which leads the strategy to coordinate and support the plans being developed by our dioceses, churches, cathedrals, schools, and departments to secure the significant additional funding needed to decarbonise the Church of England.

What you'll be doing
Legacies have historically played a transformative role for the Church of England - sustaining parish ministry, helping deliver the 30,000+ community projects run by parishes every year, conserving historic buildings and enabling important work for the future, including Net Zero Carbon projects. There is significant untapped potential for legacy giving to make an even bigger difference to our work, but awareness is uneven, and local church leaders often lack the training and resources to talk confidently about gifts in wills.

As the Gifts in Wills Manager, you will lead an ambitious new legacy programme to significantly expand the support and resources available for all parts of the Church of England to effectively encourage legacy giving. This will include creating new legacy giving resources that can be used by parishes, cathedrals and Dioceses as well as new training for local parish volunteers, clergy and senior leaders.

Gifts in wills have the potential for significantly enhancing the work of the church in caring for God's creation, being the culmination of a person's lifetime of commitment and care for the church and God's creation. The role will include specifically looking to develop NZC cases for support as a way to encourage gifts in wills, through linking the ongoing and perpetual care of God's creation with the long term impact of gifts in wills.
Through your work you will create a culture shift where legacy giving is demystified to become a natural part of Christian discipleship. The increased number and generosity of legacy gifts pledged and received will make a long-lasting impact on the financial ability of parishes, cathedrals, and dioceses to fund their ministry and social impact in the communities they serve.

The Partnerships and Philanthropy Manager will play a key role in driving income growth through philanthropy and strategic partnerships across Northern Ireland. We are recruiting a Grants Support Administrator to join our dynamic Grants and Programmes team. This role is key to ensuring the smooth running of our grants processes (both applications and live grants management) and to provide general administrative support to the Grants and Programmes team and its Directors. 

The Nuffield Foundation is an open, collaborative, and engaged funder, offering more than money. Its aim is to understand the social, demographic, technological and economic trends that shape people’s lives. 

In the role of Grants Support Administrator, you will be responsible for responding to general enquiries from potential and current grantees and developing and maintaining FAQs for responding to applicants and grant holders. You will work with the Grants Coordinators in processing grant applications through to award or rejection, with managing and processing live grants, and updating records on Salesforce (the Foundation’s applications and grant management CRM). You will also assist with the processing of invoices and expense claims, keeping communication materials up-to-date, and supporting Grants Coordinators with grant-holder events and meetings at the Foundation’s offices. 

As a member of the wider Foundation administrative team, you will also provide ad-hoc support to Office Services and the Nuffield Foundation’s Leadership Team when required, including supporting Trustee and Committee meetings when needed. 

We are looking for someone with excellent administrative and coordination skills, strong communication and liaising abilities, and a problem-solving mindset. You will have experience of previously working in administrative roles, and have knowledge of office systems and processes. You will enjoy working with teams and be comfortable of working with a range of people across multiple workstreams. Experience using Salesforce or working in a grant-making environment is highly desirable, but we welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds who are ready to learn and grow in the role. Sitting in our impact, strategy and innovation team, you’ll play a key role in supporting major strategic programmes. The UK Maths Trust is a charity that exists to advance the education of children and young people in mathematics. We do this by working with hundreds of volunteers across the UK to organise Competitions and Challenges promoting problem solving and teamwork and other mathematical enrichment activities.

As an Administrator in the TMC team, you will work closely with the TMC Coordinator to support the delivery of the UKMT’s Team and Senior Team Maths Challenges.
