Key Responsibilities
When a school registers for one of the Trust’s programmes, the Schools Coordinator manages the logistics and organisation of each school’s engagement, working closely with the schools and link teachers to ensure the smooth delivery of our programme. This includes:
- Coordinate booking dates/times – working with schools to ensure we fulfil their application to join one of our programmes.
- Handle enquiries and maintain accurate booking records.
- Staff allocation – Secure a freelance educator to deliver content.
- Direct communication – building relationships with schools, teachers, and school staff, ensuring a smooth user experience for our clients. This includes, but is not limited to, answering queries from teachers / staff as received, linking schools with respective freelance educators as necessary, sharing all relevant updates and information ensuring teachers/staff are fully informed about the delivery plans.
- Courier booking – to ensure all hardware is onsite for respective delivery.
- Monitoring – logistics plans and raising any issues with senior logistics staff as they arise.

The Research co-ordinator will help provide a high-quality in-house prospect research service to support the alumni engagement strategy. Training and Development

My client is a well-respected, London-based charity which offers hybrid working.
Your new role
They are recruiting for a Management Accountant on a fixed-term basis for a period of 12 months.
Duties will include:
- Preparing and posting all journals for month end, including accruals, prepayments, investments and intercompany recharges, payroll, credit card returns, accrued and deferred income.
- Importing transactions from the operational system to the finance system on a daily basis, and journaling corrections as required.
- Updating rolling forecasts
- Assisting the Finance Business Partner with quarterly forecasts and annual budgets.
- Assisting the Finance Business Partner with initial review of the monthly management accounts, providing statements from the accounts as requested and journaling corrections as directed.
- Supporting the Finance Business Partner with budget holder queries, providing detail behind balances.
- Prepare all monthly balance sheet reconciliations for both entities, including Fixed Assets, prepayments, accruals and investments, credit card, payroll and deferred income.
- Provide initial commentary on the balance sheet reconciliation.
- Support with interim and annual audit, providing schedules, summaries and supporting documents as requested.
- Cashflow forecast and updating of the forecast with actuals and analysis on the variance.
- Uploading monthly direct debits.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed, you will need previous experience in management accounting, knowledge of balance sheet reconciliations, cashflow forecasting, as well as strong systems experience.

The Role: Finance Manager
As Finance Manager, you will be at the heart of Reading Students’ Union’s Finance team, providing senior operational leadership and expert financial support to ensure the Union operates efficiently, transparently, and in line with its charitable purpose, values, and legal obligations.
You will be the trusted expert on the Union’s finances. You will be overseeing management accounts, statutory accounts, payroll, and financial systems and will be a key business partner to senior leaders, budget holders, and elected student officers. Working closely with the Director of Finance, you will help build a strong culture of effective financial management across both charitable and commercial activities, ensuring financial decisions always reflect our mission, vision, values, and ethics.
You will be the line-manager of the Finance team, drive continuous improvement, support strategic delivery, and confidently deputise for the Director of Finance when required.
What you’ll do:
Financial Reporting & Data-Driven Insight
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all key financial reports to support informed decision-making.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and annual final accounts.
- Design, maintain, and analyse KPI reports to monitor financial health and operational efficiency.
- Respond promptly and accurately to requests for financial data and insights, including Board reports.
Financial Planning & Business Partnering
- Collaborate with the Director of Finance to develop and implement long-term financial planning aligned with strategic objectives.
- Act as a trusted partner for commercial strategy, providing insights on income generation and subsidiary operations.
- Support annual budgeting and reforecasting processes, ensuring robust financial oversight.
Operational Finance Management
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including invoice processing, payment runs, journal preparation, and reconciliations.
- Manage cash flow and reserves to ensure financial stability.
- Maintain aged debtor and creditor records and reconcile balance sheet accounts (prepayments, accruals, PAYE, NIC, payroll control).
Systems, Controls & Compliance
- Control the operation of the SU’s accounting system and ensure completion of month-end and year-end procedures.
- Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Develop and maintain accessible financial procedures aligned with best practice and audit recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with financial legislation, governance frameworks, and statutory reporting requirements (VAT returns, Charity Commission, Companies House, HMRC).
Risk, Governance & Assurance
- Maintain an accurate and live risk register in collaboration with the Director of Finance.
- Implement robust internal financial controls across the organisation.
- Support the Finance & Risk Committee and ensure adequate insurance coverage and asset management.
- Work confidently within governance frameworks, providing assurance to senior leaders and Trustees.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Line-manage the Finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
- Provide training and guidance on financial processes and best practices.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, including auditors and insurers.
About You
Essential
- AAT qualified or part‑qualified accountant (or willing to work towards).
- Significant experience as a Finance Manager or in a senior finance role.
- Advanced Excel skills (creating data, analysing data, manipulating data)
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Organised, adaptable, and able to manage competing priorities in a busy and fast-paced environment.

About the Role
The Outreach and Insight team plays a key role in identifying emerging issues and trends in what matters most to students. We transform a wide range of data and information about our casework and the sector into insights and learning. We also play a central role in using this learning to develop and deliver specific and targeted outreach to providers, student representative bodies (SRBs) and students.
The Insight Analyst is responsible for conducting data and information gathering and analysis on a wide variety of topics related to this work. You will be tasked with the creation and updating of Power BI reporting, dashboards and other data visualisation for internal use.
This important role involves collecting and analysing information from inside and outside the organisation with the purpose of generating insight to ensure that the overall outreach, engagement and communication strategies are evidence-based.
Once the need for analysis of particular information is established, the Insight Analyst works to deliver this in an appropriate and comprehensible format. This role has responsibility for ensuring a very high level of accuracy and clarity, ensuring that colleagues can rely upon what is presented.
About You
