Domestic Abuse Officer

Young Ladies Club aims to raise aspirations in disadvantaged young women to achieve their education and career potential by providing mentoring, confidence building activities and career workshops from positive role models.  We envision a world where young women’s socio-economic background does not impact educational and career outcomes.

We are now looking for an experience Domestic Abuse Officer to provide an effective, efficient, and supportive service to women who are victims of domestic abuse providing emotional, practical and welfare support. As our Domestic Abuse Officer, you will provide a high-quality pro-active service to victims of domestic abuse and other forms of VAWG in either 1:1 or group settings delivering a service to those at medium and low risk.

As a Domestic Abuse Officer, your responsibilities will be:

· To work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse.

· To ensure that women are enabled to access their rights and are informed about their options.

· To reach out to survivors of domestic abuse and raise awareness of domestic abuse and local services offered.

· To support and implement the aims and objectives of Young Ladies Club ensuring that all work is undertaken in accordance with Young Ladies Club policies and procedures.

· To facilitate or co-facilitate the support groups

· To facilitate the provision of culturally sensitive therapeutic interventions and counselling services.

Required Skills and Experience:

· Demonstrable qualifications and/or experience in the field of domestic violence accommodation and support.

· An excellent working knowledge of key issues faced by black and minoritised women who have experienced Domestic Abuse and VAWG. Able to apply this knowledge at a practical level.

· Experience of identifying and responding to the risks to and needs of survivors of domestic

violence

· Experience of working with vulnerable women at least some of which are women or girls affected by domestic abuse and other forms of gender-based violence.

· A sound working knowledge of the practical, emotional, social and economic issues facing black and minoritised women and girls affected by domestic, and intimate relationship abuse

· Experience of multi-agency partnership working

· Knowledge of relevant legislation relating to Immigration, Honour Based Violence, Forced Marriage and FGM.

· Experience in running support groups in the community

· Ability to work with interpreters and volunteers.

· Ability to work with voluntary organisations, local authorities and government agencies on behalf of women.

· Effective communication skills.

· Experience of managing basic administrative systems.

· Training and qualifications in the provision of advice and advocacy on issues such as housing, welfare benefits and domestic violence.

· Good working knowledge of IT system and databases.

· Ability to run groups virtually on Zoom/Teams etc

Job Title: Freelance Facilitator

We are seeking Freelance Programme Facilitators to join a pool to deliver our programmes in Staffordshire. Supported by our Programme Development Manager with training and resources you will help children and young people who are experiencing vulnerabilities and disadvantages improve their wellbeing, re-engage with school and learning, build networks and access opportunities.

Programme Facilitators work with significant autonomy and authority. They must embrace responsibility and are accountable for their work. They work collaboratively alongside young people, operating as a mentor as they empower young people to develop self-esteem, become resilient and engage with school and their own future. They give each young person the time, the confidence and skills to engage with their education.

About the role

You will lead and manage projects that support on the development and delivery of a pipeline of insightful Musculoskeletal (MSK) and health data analysis and quantitative research, to better understand the UK population with MSK conditions and to inform the direction of our ambitions, strategy, policy and services work. This includes obtaining, analysing, publishing and presenting MSK epidemiological and health data, and working with others to influence improved quality, coverage and use of MSK health data.

About you

If your knowledge, skills and experience include the following then we’d love to hear from you:

• Demonstrate sound knowledge of epidemiological research methods and health metrics (such as incidence and prevalence)
• Strong experience using of statistical software e.g. R, Stata, SPSS

Rights of Women (ROW) is looking for an organised, creative and innovative woman* to join our team as our Fundraising and Partnerships Manager. This is a varied role that will work as part of a small team to ensure we raise the funds needed to support the Peak District to be enjoyed by everyone, forever. You will help to raise funds to:

• Protect our peatlands. The Park contains some of the most degraded upland peatland anywhere in Europe. We’re working to restore Peak District blanket bogs and peatland back to health, conserving this vital carbon capturing habitat for the future.
• Restore habitats. Nature is in crisis even in our National Park. We’re working to create bigger, better and more joined up habitats across the Peak District, supporting biodiversity and providing essential corridors for wildlife.
• Connect people and communities to nature. The more people who are connected to nature, the more people will want to protect it. We are working to ensure people of all ages and backgrounds have opportunities to experience and care for our National Park.
• Ensure access for everyone. There are over 1,600 miles of paths within the National Park. We’re working to fund high quality path repair, improve access for people with disabilities and help more people enjoy their right to roam.
• Protect our cultural heritage. The Peak District landscape has been shaped by people. We’re working to protect and conserve these irreplaceable heritage sites, from historic buildings and industrial structures to pre-historic features.

About the role:

You will act as subject matter expert to deliver a best-in-class business planning and budgeting process that leads us into delivering on our strategic plan. 

You will be ensuring that management reporting and financial management tools are fit for purpose, contributing to cross-functional performance improvement and embedding a culture of continuous improvement and best value for the organisation. Engaging with Budget Holders and other stakeholders as a strategic partner to develop and maintain a consistent business partnering agenda through the year, providing financial insights that support high level decision making.

What you will be doing:

Budgeting and Forecast 

• Deliver a collaborative annual planning and budgeting process that ensures delivery of the business and financial strategy and re-forecasts as required. 

 Accounting and Performance Management: 

• Produce monthly and quarterly management accounts to deadlines for review by the Head of Finance / CFO, identifying key variances and issues affecting financial performance, whilst looking for improvement opportunities. 

• To deliver a periodic reporting process that is timely and accurate, engaging with heads of departments (budget holders) to build on and develop existing reporting. 

• To contribute to the preparation of the Annual Report and Accounts and associated audit processes. 

• To develop and deliver a suite of financial performance metrics in line with best practice. This will include development of cost allocation methodologies and balanced scorecard elements aligned to strategic reporting. 

 Financial Planning and Analysis 

• Support the preparation of financial forecasts and scenario modelling.

• Engage with the Head of Finance and CFO to deliver a shared understanding of future incomes and expenditure and to introduce planning methods to rapidly flex the organisation to meet the uncertainties in such forecasts. 

• Providing financial insights to support the preparation of business cases within the organisation for capital and revenue initiatives. 

 Financial Analysis 

• To provide analysis of income, charitable expenditure, support, governance and other costs with meaningful commentary and trend analysis. 

• Provide Motability with high quality data analytics and reporting that drive evidence-based decision making to maximise impact and value for money. 

• Support any shift in operating model, so that Motability maintains clear sight of its impact and value for money. 

• Support Motability in maintaining and improving an open and high performing culture focused on beneficiaries and the difference Motability can make for them. 

 Payroll: 

• To contribute to the preparation and review of the monthly payroll, including starters and leavers, and statutory returns. 

• To contribute to headcount and employment cost projections and modelling. 

Your experience:

Must haves:  

• Recognised CCAB Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA). 

• Periodic reporting, budget and forecast preparation with variance analysis and commentary. 

• Delivering a successful business partnering agenda for budget holders and non-finance staff with the ability to communicate key financial messages and influence management action. 

• Some experience, or understanding, of Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Fabric, with the ability to build dashboards, manage certified datasets, and contribute to governed reporting environments. 

• Sage 200 accounting package experience. 

• Microsoft Excel – intermediate to advanced level. 

• Able to work confidently with a range of senior stakeholders on operational and financial data to arrive at measures of impact whilst also able to support a new manager with their first budget.

The organisation  

United for Global Mental Health was founded in January 2018. It exists to support and unite the global effort to promote good mental health. Through our campaigning, advocacy and financing work, we aim to create a world in which everyone, everywhere has someone to turn to in support of their mental health. Since 2018, we have worked with a variety of international and national partners to help us reach this goal.

The Initiative:    

The WHO Constitution and several UN human rights declarations affirm everyone’s right to the highest attainable standard of mental health. However, many countries’ laws and policies fall short of enabling this. Human rights violations and barriers to access persist, often due to the prioritisation of institutional care over primary and community-based services, and the existence of discriminatory laws, such as those criminalising suicide. Addressing these issues is a key focus of UnitedGMH’s human rights pillar under its current three-year strategy.

The Role: 

You have the opportunity to join this initiative, working as part of a global policy, advocacy and financing organisation that puts its national partners and persons with lived experience of mental health at the forefront of their advocacy efforts. You will work with the Policy and Advocacy Advisor and colleagues, to develop, coordinate, support and implement policy and advocacy projects including; influencing global, regional and national law and policy, conducting research, report writing, drafting policy briefs and positions, partnership building and management, supporting national partners with their advocacy and representing the organisation at online and in-person events, including at key global moments. You will be working to achieve the objectives of our strategic pillar on rights, delivering on the 2026 strategy and action plan for the project on decriminalising suicide worldwide and supporting the project to deinstitutionalise mental health care, as well as contributing to the work across the organisation. You will also have the opportunity to help shape our next three-year organisation strategy from 2027-2029.

You have a proven track record in international health policy and advocacy with an eye for detail and an entrepreneurial spirit. Responsibilities:

• Partner Support: Help to build and manage partner relations with external stakeholders including national and global civil society, research institutions, governments, UN agencies, donors etc. Support them with their national advocacy and assist them in developing and managing national coalitions to advance their work at a national level. 

• Stakeholder relations: Support, and sometimes lead, engagement with key governments, the UN and other international organisations. As appropriate, directly engage and manage relationships with key decision-makers and global and regional advocacy organisations.

• Engagement of Experts by Experience and young people: ensure experts by experience of mental health conditions and young people are provided opportunities to influence global and national policy through your projects 

• Grant and contract management: Lead in the identification of funders in your program area and develop funding proposals for work on policy, advocacy and financing; track and report on grant deliverables.

• Policy, advocacy & financing strategies: Lead the design and implementation of policy, advocacy and financing strategies for UnitedGMH and in collaboration with, or for, a range of stakeholders.

• Policy reports and papers: Draft policy reports and papers to support high level influencing.

• Briefings, policy packs and influencing language: Preparing briefings, policy packs and influencing language for senior government officials, Ministers, and other decision-makers as well as national partners as required.

• Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning: regularly update UnitedGMH’s MEL system with relevant data and information around your projects

• Communications: Support the internal and external communication activities of the organisation and develop project-based communications plans.

• Funder profiles: Maintain updated profiles on key mental health funders.

• Events: Organise meetings, events (including side-events at key global moments), workshops and small gatherings of partners and other stakeholders.

• Represent the organisation: Speak on behalf of the organisation on your project areas at key global moments and in-person and virtual events, webinars and conferences

Experience:

• You will have at least five years of experience working in country and/or global health policy, advocacy and/or financing for a UN agency, non-governmental organisation, think tank or decision-maker.

• You will have undertaken work related to public health and/or human rights and have a track record of advocacy with policy makers, brief/report writing and research.

• A background in health, including mental health, either professionally or through lived experience. 

• Demonstrable experience of having worked on health legislation and policy in low- and middle-income countries, including drafting, reviewing and/or having been part of consultative processes at a government level. Experience working on suicide prevention policies/strategies or the decriminalisation of suicide and/or the repeal of other discriminatory legislation will be preferred. 

• Low-to-middle income country level experience engaging with different stakeholders – persons with lived experience of mental health conditions, governments, civil society, donors etc.

• Experience of representing your organisation at key global, regional or national political gatherings

About You

You are a data-driven thinker with a passion for medical research and a talent for turning evidence into action. You are confident leading projects, managing data, and communicating complex ideas with clarity and purpose.

You bring:

• Experience of monitoring and evaluation, impact assessment, and the collection, analysis, reporting and management of data, ideally in medical research
• Familiarity with the UK biomedical research landscape
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, IT and data visualisation skills
• Line management expertise

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience of widely used databases (e.g. Dimensions, EuropePMC), survey tools
• Experience of Flexigrant or Flexigrant Insights
• Project management or strategic planning experience
• Confidence in presenting complex concepts to non-expert audiences

This is a full-time post, but we are happy to consider a part-time contract (min 0.8 FTE). 

We value spending time working in-person to develop strong connections with each other and with our mission, so you will be based at our central London office for a minimum of three days a week if you are full-time (Monday, Tuesday, and either Wednesday or Thursday) with the option to work remotely for the remainder.  If you are part-time, you will be office-based for at least 50% of your time.

We are looking for a Therapeutic Wellbeing Service Manager (North Services) and a Therapeutic Wellbeing Service Manager (South Services) to support the growth and delivery of our counselling and wellbeing programmes.  

Our services are a hybrid of online and in person delivery and therefore the North role will include travelling to locations within Manchester, Bradford, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire areas, including travelling to TLC wider meetings in Manchester.

The Roles

The successful candidates will support the Senior Therapeutic Wellbeing Manager and hold specific identified managerial responsibilities within the services delivered by TLC’s Therapeutic Wellbeing department. 

You will work closely with the Senior Therapeutic Wellbeing Manager and Management Team  to co-ordinate the delivery, monitoring and staff support and leadership across the organisation.

The successful candidates will have operational responsibility for the Counselling and Wellbeing services within their geographical areas and have  specific managerial responsibilities within the wider range of services delivered by TLC.

You will support the Head of Therapeutic Wellbeing to design and deliver against the department’s strategic objectives. 

You will work closely with the Management Team and Clinical Supervisors to ensure services are delivered to a high standard in line with TLC’s values and the BACP Ethical Framework.

We are looking for people who have the expertise to lead our team of mental health professionals. 

You will be a skilled, knowledgeable and experienced leader with a proven track record in managing mental health teams. 

You will be experienced in managing commissioned services requiring high quality contract management, reporting back to commissioners/funders.

The contract terms:

The Communications Officer will play a key role in sharing the stories and impact of Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, helping to raise awareness of our work supporting seriously ill children and their families across the UK. Working closely with the PR Associate and Brand & Marketing Manager, this role will deliver creative, high-quality communications across media, digital, and print channels. From crafting compelling stories and press materials to supporting digital campaigns and website content, the Communications Officer will help ensure our brand and messages reach and inspire key audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

PR & Media Support

• Work closely with the PR Associate to coordinate and facilitate PR and media activity.

• Draft press materials including press releases, media statements, and briefing notes.

• Support in identifying media opportunities and nurturing media relationships.

• Monitor media coverage and track PR outputs for reporting and evaluation.

Content Creation & Copywriting

• With direction from the Brand & Marketing Manager, produce engaging and brand-aligned copy for social media, website, email marketing, fundraising materials, and promotional collateral.

• Develop case stories with our families for fundraising reports and to support media, fundraising, and stakeholder communications.

• Contribute to blog creation, news updates, and storytelling content that showcases organisational impact.

Digital & Website Management

• Work with the Brand & Marketing Manager to support in managing website updates, ensuring content is current, compelling, and aligned with campaign priorities.

• Upload blogs, news articles, and multimedia content to digital platforms.

• Liaise with internal teams to ensure digital content reflects ongoing organisational activity.

Celebrity/Influencer Engagement

•  Manage and coordinate the organisation’s celebrity and influencer programme of activities.

• Support in identifying potential ambassadors and maintaining existing relationships.

• Assist in developing content and opportunities that drive ambassador engagement and visibility

Campaigns, Assets & Marketing Materials

• Support the development and production of communications assets, including leaflets, brochures, event materials, and fundraising collateral.
