The Role
This role will ensure the organisation is following robust financial systems and processes, carry out all day-to-day accounting tasks, and ensure timely production of financial information to inform management decisions. Most tasks can be done from home, however some tasks such as banking and petty cash reconciliation will require you to attend our offices. Once the initial training is complete you will be able to arrange your own hours, to be worked Monday to Friday.
This role is for a fixed period of 12 months, to cover maternity leave.
About You
A proven track record of relevant financial administration experience and competence in the use of Xero accounting software, Excel and other MS packages such as word and Outlook are essential. You will have an organised approach to workload and ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines, be flexible and adapt to the requirements of the role. You must be able to clearly convey financial information to non-finance colleagues.
This role would suit someone looking to increase their experience of working within the charity sector as part of a busy and friendly finance team, perhaps whilst studying to complete AAT Level 4 or similar.

About the Role
As the Senior Project Manager, you will be tasked with overseeing the full project lifecycle, from inception to completion. This includes coordinating project teams comprising consultants, developers, contractors, and other stakeholders. You will actively engage and foster strong partnerships with external partners such as the Greater London Authority (GLA), local authorities, and internal stakeholders.
Your role involves commissioning and briefing various consultants, ensuring compliance with procedures and regulatory requirements. You will manage documentation, liaise with legal entities, and handle financial aspects such as appraising project feasibility and controlling costs against budgets. Additionally, you will monitor defects management, identify new development opportunities, and contribute to reports and negotiations for site acquisitions.

We are seeking a candidate with demonstrated experience in project management within the housing development sector. The service will be based across three London locations in Islington, Lambeth and Kensington and Chelsea and staff will be expected to work across all three.

About the role
The GROW trainee will be primarily working alongside Senior Support Workers within the Home at Last Project (HALT) to improve support and outcomes for people experiencing rough sleeping who have drug and alcohol dependence needs. You will also work with other professionals from across the housing, health and social care sectors to help people experiencing multiple disadvantage to build resilience and develop independent living skills. The role will involve helping people to settle and stay in accommodation, help build independent living skills, support to people to access services and appointments. The GROW trainee programme includes opportunities to get involved in developing services in Sheffield and across Shelter at a national level, using your experiences to influence our local strategic aims.
About you
We are looking for people who have experience of overcoming personal challenges and barriers and who are passionate about using their own life experiences to help make positive change for others. Good communication skills and the ability to make people feel heard will also be essential. Basic computer skills, e.g. word processing, the internet and email would be useful, but support can be provided. Above all, we need people with a real desire to develop personally and learn new skills.

The GROW Traineeship gives people with experience of homelessness and other disadvantages (including but not limited to; experience of the criminal justice system, mental ill-health or substance misuse) access to paid employment, training and personal development opportunities. The traineeship lasts for up to 15 months, and each Trainee receives personalised training and enhanced support to give them the skills and confidence they need to secure meaningful employment at the end. We are looking for someone who is passionate about using their own experiences to help make change for people in Dorset experiencing bad housing and homelessness.
About the team
The team in Dorset is well-established and has been providing housing advice and support services within Dorset for over 20 years. With office bases in Bournemouth and Weymouth, we have contracts to deliver Housing First support in Dorset Council area and offer Legal Aid Advice, including a court desk service at Bournemouth and Weymouth County Courts.
We are active in our communities and strive to understand what housing issues people are experiencing; providing advice and advocacy to individuals and groups to empower them to resolve their situation.
About the role
This role will enable the successful candidate to have a broad understanding of local responses to the housing emergency and give a taster of what role different organisations play in this and would be ideal for someone who is looking to work in housing or homelessness services.
This role will work alongside, and be supported by the Dorset Hub team, based in Bournemouth, to improve the number of people taking part in lived experience activities within Bournemouth, (Dorset) Hub and the BCP Homelessness Partnership. You’ll attend and/or facilitate lived experience groups, people with experience of homelessness to speak up, be an ambassador to encourage partner organisations to involve people with lived experience and offer peer support and encouragement, using your own experience, to help other people participate. You will also contribute to communications from Dorset Hub and BCP Partnership, which highlight the local impact of the housing emergency and effective solutions.
You will be given extensive on the job training, support, and supervision, and will have access to a flexible personal budget to help in your own personal and professional development. Previous trainees have used the personal budget for things like mental health support, qualifications and training courses. The successful candidate will also have access to Shelter’s Employee Assistance Programme and will have dedicated wellbeing support.
About you
- You will have experience of homelessness and / or other disadvantages (e.g. experience of the criminal justice system, mental ill-health or substance misuse) and an understanding of how these experiences have affected you
- You want to make things better for people experiencing bad housing and homelessness in Dorset and you have a commitment to equality and a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination.
- You will be a good communicator and a non-judgmental listener, with empathy for people from different backgrounds.
- You will have an ability to work as part of a team, be flexible and open to learning, supported by your line manager and wider team.
- Experience of using IT (including phones) for emails, internet research and other basic skills
- The enthusiasm and determination to develop and learn new skills.
- A proactive attitude and the confidence to voice your opinions
- You must have support in place to enable you to deal with situations that may reflect your own experiences

About the role
This is a great opportunity to work within the Stories team at Shelter, recruiting people from within relevant services and outside the organisation to share their experiences to support Shelter’s fundraising, media, services, campaigning, research and brand work. As well as making contact with people willing to share their stories, you’ll be able to listen to someone’s experience and write a summary of their story. The traineeship lasts 15 months and you will receive personalised training and support to help remove some of the barriers that may have prevented you from getting meaningful employment. Once your traineeship is complete, we will support you in securing further employment in the future.

The traineeship lasts up to 15 months, and you will receive personalised training and support to help remove some of the barriers that may have prevented you from getting meaningful employment.

The Interim Support Worker (Employment Lead) will report to the Team Manager and be responsible for the service delivery of an effective, high-quality, person-centred support service to residents with a range of medium to high needs. The postholder will temporarily lead on developing employment, training, and education (ETE) opportunities for residents. A key element of this role is developing positive relationships with residents as well as developing partnerships with potential employers and community partners.
To be successful, you will have demonstrable experience within the local authority, voluntary, independent, charity or social housing sector. You will have experience of providing personalised advice, coaching and support to individuals facing homelessness or other forms of social exclusion. The Marylebone Project is one of the largest women’s hostels in the UK for women affected by homelessness. Those we support are often affected by substance misuse, unemployment, domestic violence, and mental health issues. Whatever their story, we aim for the same ending, self-esteem, employment, and independent living. We do this by providing shelter, education opportunities, spiritual space, and events in a welcoming and secure environment.
The Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity within the Project, delivering meaningful activity and EET opportunities for women, giving lots of scope for creativity and development. Within this role you will be required to provide exemplary support to the women we serve, supporting them in their journey to recovery. This role plays an integral part in developing life and employability skills and providing opportunities for involvement and ultimately job procurement. You will gain varied experience developing a revitalised service, one which serves and works with our women.
This role works with all departments of the Marylebone Project, and will develop exciting new relationships with external partners, and creating work and training related opportunities for women. The post sits within our Centre Team.
You will have the opportunity to develop our Meaningful Activity and EET programme a which will really make a difference to women’s lives and have the privilege to see them through their journey into independence.
The successful candidate will:

Salary

Hours
40 hours per week. You will be placed on a shift-based Rota which includes early shifts, Late shifts and weekend shifts. In general the hours of working will be from 8am-4.30pm.
Working hours and rotas are subject to change by the organisation as required, based on operational/service need, though we try not to do this frequently. Some flexibility in working hours is expected.
Pension
The employee will be enrolled into a pension scheme providing the post holder meets the criteria for eligibility. Minimum pension contributions will be paid by the employer for you if you are eligible.
Annual Leave
28 days per year, inclusive of bank holidays. Rising by 1 day per year of service to a maximum of 33 days, inclusive of bank holidays.

Occupational Requirement
Due to the responsibilities of the role, there is an occupational requirement under the Equality Act 2010 that the post holder is female.
The Marylebone Project is based over two sites, 100m apart, up to 7 floors, and the job regularly involves walking throughout and between both sites. The postholder must be able to access all areas of the Project, and may be required to do so quickly in the event of an emergency. There is also a requirement to travel across London for work related purposes. The ability to undertake these physical aspects of the role and to carry smaller items are required as essential.
