This role is based at our centre a short walk from Clapham Common tube station, in London. We support homeless people from the local area and further afield. Our services are open access, so the people who come to the Ace of Clubs are diverse and from multiple walks of life. Consequently their needs can be complex, so we are looking for a skilled communicator who can support people, many of who live chaotic lifestyles. Our purpose at the Ace of Clubs is to address people’s basic human needs by providing food, clothing, toiletries, and practical support. We help people link up with housing, healthcare, education, and employment. Our Support Workers work to help individuals overcome barriers to achieving wellbeing, whether it be through guidance in the support system, learning new skills or supporting service users to build the confidence and skills to enable them to navigate their life challenges and advocate for themselves. The ultimate aim of our work is to reduce people’s dependence on our service, helping them move toward independence.

KEY DUTIES
- To participate in the provision of advice and advocacy for service users addressing their needs in the following areas; Housing; Welfare; Health; Education; Employment, (this list is not exhaustive);
- Refer to and liaise with partners and agencies within the statutory and voluntary sector to secure positive outcomes for Centre Users, e.g. referring and signposting guests to accommodation providers, health services and other relevant internal and external support services, as necessary.
- Work in a manner which honours our organisational values and is responsive to the trauma and experiences of homelessness and vulnerable adults.
- Maintain essential records accurately on Charity Log, (ensuring high quality case recordings).
- Ensuring the Centre Manager is kept informed of all safeguarding and risk concerns.
- Employing creative thinking and practices to ensure that guests are supported and motivated to achieve their goals.

The service provides accommodation and housing related support to people experiencing homelessness; dedicated to providing a safe, high quality and inclusive service to people while they are living in the hostel, and a positive move-on into independent housing.
In the role of Project Worker, you will:
- Oversee a caseload of clients and provide ongoing 1-1 support in an approachable, caring and person-centred way.

- Have a good understanding of a person centred approach and how to provide the right support to clients to meet individual needs, identifying personal aims and ambitions and making plans to achieve them.

We are currently looking for a highly motivated and committed Waking Night Concierge to join the team in East London to support clients medium to high support needs in a supported accommodation setting.
The hostel offers a range of services to clients at different stages in the process of change and works closely with an adjacent health and advice centre operated by partner agencies. Operationally, the service focuses on promoting recovery, providing assessment, support and resettlement services within a framework of active engagement and person-centred planning. The project is committed to supporting continued client participation in all aspects of its work.
In this role you will provide overnight waking cover for the service. You will be responsible for providing first contact and safeguarding our clients at night including dealing with emergencies. Other duties include carrying out regular health and safety checks, monitoring the CCTV system and various administration tasks. There is also an element of the role which will be ensuring the environment is kept to a high standard.
The rota for this role is 4 nights on, 4 nights off, 10.30pm to 8.30am each night of working.
About you
To succeed, you will have an understanding of the needs and support requirements of people with complex needs. You’ll also have the ability to establish an effective working relationship with these clients, be client centred and possess an understanding of the issues that affect vulnerable clients. A good level of numeracy and literacy skills and the ability to use your own initiative are also required.

About the role and person:
Always motivated to achieve brilliant standards of service on every call, their Customer Service Advisors take direct calls from customers, diagnosing faults and raising jobs to ensure their home repairs and maintenance needs are met. It can be a stressful time when things go wrong so strong communication skills, empathy, professionalism and resilience are key.
As a Contact Centre Team Manager, you’ll create an environment where their colleagues feel empowered to put the customer first and provide the best solutions. You’ll lead by example, supporting the team with escalations, ensuring that KPI’s are met and that they’re delivering the brilliant Repairs and Maintenance services their customers deserve. You’ll carry out call audits to ensure the team are communicating with customers, contractors and internal stakeholders to resolve repair related queries and ensure the team is receiving regular coaching and development.
Their contact centre is open Monday – Friday 8am to 6pm. Flexibility to pick up urgent queries outside these hours may also be required from time to time. You don't need to know about home repairs and maintenance -they'll provide the training you need. Their office facilities include free parking, a café and free access to an onsite gym.
What skills/behaviours do you need to be a Contact Centre Team Manager?
- Experience of working within a busy customer focused environment with the ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service skills including dispute management
- Experience of leading and managing a team in a high volume work environment
- Ability to engage and motivate a team to get the best from them
- Strong negotiation and communication skills – verbally, in writing and able to present these in a team meeting setting or during 1-2-1’s
- Experience of performance management
- Ability to manage a busy workload with conflicting priorities
- A positive and practical approach to problem solving
- Experience of working in a pressurised environment
- Confidently use Microsoft Office and other IT systems
- An understanding of Contact Centre technology
- Experience in multi channel customer support
- Knowledge of home repairs and maintenance services is desirable.
Location
The successful candidate will be required to live within a commutable distance to their Peterborough office as this post requires you to be on-site. Upon completion of probation, dependent on meeting of role requirements there may also be the opportunity for hybrid working.
Salary:
The spot salary for this post is £40,966 per annum for applicants who fully meet the requirements of the post. Applicants, who do not meet all the requirements of the post, will start 5% or 10% below the spot salary.
