Right now, one of our partners, Aquarius Action Projects, is looking for a Practitioner to join their team. Solihull Integrated Addiction Service (SIAS) is a partnership between four organisations jointly responsible for the delivery of the drug, alcohol, homelessness, and gambling services, in the Borough of Solihull. We offer services for adults who use or are affected by substance use, homelessness, and gambling.

Your challenge? As a Hospital Complex Needs Practitioner, you will be working with clients within UHB hospital primarily Heartlands/Solihull hospital and various other settings in the community. You will be supporting clients in addressing their substance needs and liaising with medical professionals on the wards within the hospital and in the community. We are looking for someone who can complete both brief and psychosocial interventions and hold a caseload.

You need to be able to work independently and will be multi-agency working, working with HCAs to Consultants daily. You will need to be able to deliver training in person and online and attend meetings and feed back in meetings associated with the hospital.

We are looking for an energetic and confident self-starter with a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies). Alternatively, we’ll consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse and housing and homelessness field with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care. As well as good knowledge of alcohol/drug and health related issues, you're used to liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals and comfortable engaging with clients in a variety of service delivery settings. What’s more, you have a flexible approach, a commitment to the principles of confidentiality and excellent record keeping and Microsoft Office. You will need to be able to work flexibly in terms of working hours to support your clients.

Opening in April 2021, Crawley Crisis Café is a partnership between Richmond Fellowship and Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SPFT). The café will provide support for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis and will be open Monday to Friday 5pm – 11pm and Saturday and Sunday 3pm to 11pm. As Peer Support Coordinator your challenge will be to recruit and induct, with the Service Manager, the volunteers.

The volunteers will work alongside Recovery Support Workers and the Community Psychiatric Nurse to ensure positive outcomes for individuals that have come to the crisis café for support. And, when it comes to contributing to the development of organisational policies and procedures or attending networking events and community meetings to promote the service, recruiting volunteers and compiling a monthly rota for the volunteers again, we’ll rely on you.

To succeed, you’ll need a good understanding of the recovery and personalisation agenda and the principles and practice on which mental health services are run. You must be able to, liaise and work collaboratively with a team of colleagues. You will be well-organised and self-motivated; good problem-solving and decision-making skills are essential, as is an innate ability to cope with personal stress.

We have two roles available for people to join our appointments team as administrators, working within our opening times of 8:45am and 9:15pm Monday-Thursday and 8:45am and 4:30pm on Friday.

About the Role

This role is an exciting opportunity to work for Mind BLMK as part of the Fundraising & Engagement Team.

Often the first point of contact for our clients in Lambeth and Southwark, the Information and Advice Service aims to provide support for residents who may be experiencing social-isolation, low mood, anxiety or depression. The service handles over 1500 enquiries a year from people seeking support for a range of issues including welfare benefits, housing and homelessness, advocacy, family support, disability and legal advice in addition to accessing our mental health and befriending services.

As one of two Advice Service Coordinators, you’ll support volunteers to ensure that the service is running efficiently. You will be in regular contact with clients both interested in and accessing the service to make sure they have adequate support. This may include referrals and signposting to additional or alternative mental health and social support services.

You’ll also maintain the online Community Information Network (COIN) directory, which includes vocational and social opportunities for adults with long term health conditions who are looking for paid work, to move closer to their vocational goals or consider social and leisure opportunities.

The Carers Coordinator is an integral role within Hertfordshire Mind Network (HMN) and to the future development of the service. This is a pilot working as a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) with housing teams and Drug and Alcohol Services across District and Borough councils. These teams will be working with individuals who are presenting as homeless and have a number of Complex Needs.

Purpose of Post

Providing advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients who are experiencing mental ill health or need support with their mental wellbeing. These will be clients who are presenting to District and Borough councils as homeless and need intervention and support with their mental health and remain a source of independent support for all clients. Ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly and that a person centred recovery orientated and trauma informed approach is embedded approach in all aspects of the roles.

Service Objectives

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental ill health.
• To increase early access to help for people experiencing mental ill health in, by providing a clear and effective pathway to services provided by Herts Mind Network and other third sector and statutory providers.
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To reduce the use of police, ASB, tenancy enforcement, housing needs and environmental health services by clients whose primary need is related to mental ill health.
• To reduce the use of crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health without positive outcomes for the individual.
• To provide an assertive outreach approach for clients who are in crisis and/ or those that may have complex or multiple needs.
• To work collaboratively within an MDT consisting of CGL, District and Borough councils, housing teams and other professionals.

About you

Desirably you will have some experience of working as an Advocate, providing welfare, supporting, or caring for Adults or young people who have support needs, ideally for those with a variety of communication needs, mental ill health, physical health issues, or barriers to accessing education and support.

You should have worked or volunteered in health, social care, welfare, support services, education or young person’s services, or advice and guidance.
