Summary of Role

This is an exciting new role in our Talking Therapies team providing vital support to people in Manchester with common mental health problems. Working alongside counsellors, you will provide wrap-around social and practical support to adults on our waiting list for or who are engaging in Talking Therapy to enable them to address and overcome barriers impacting on their health and wellbeing. You will provide advice, information and guidance on these issues, make onward referrals to specialist advice organisations where necessary and support engagement with these services. 

You will build and maintain relationships with key referrers, such as GP surgeries, to promote the service and facilitate appropriate referrals.

Once trained, you have the exciting task of leading and facilitating a new course within the service: Living Life to the Full™, a CBT-informed group programme designed to support people to improve low mood, overcome stress, sleep better and build confidence.

About the role:

Kinship are seeking to recruit experienced event co-ordinators with a whole range of skills and great energy to join our brand-new training team. They will be responsible for delivering this first ever programme of its type supporting kinship carers across England in their caring role. 

As a pivotal part of the team, you’ll be supporting delivery of high-quality in-person and online training events across England. You’ll be the first point of contact for the team and be experienced and responsive in dealing with enquiries. You’ll be used to working with suppliers and have proven experience of planning, co-ordinating and supporting the delivery of large events. What we are looking for:

• Understanding of the housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs

• Appropriate qualification: NVQ/Diploma Level 2 in Health & Social Care/Community Justice, or professional equivalent

Key Responsibilities

• Client Support: Remotely support, advise, and advocate for LGBT+ victims/survivors of abuse, with a focus on so-called conversion practices.
• Empowerment: Use a trauma-informed, empowerment-based, and person-centred approach.
• Information and Assistance: Provide information to help clients make informed choices and meet their needs.
• Justice System Navigation: Assist clients with understanding their rights and navigating the criminal/civil justice systems.
• Professional Boundaries: Maintain professional boundaries and ensure clients understand the service remit.

We have an exciting opportunity to work as a Bristol City Robins Foundation Youth Mentor.

This is a 1-year fixed-term contract with a view to an extension in 2025.

Our youth mentor will work with young people in South Bristol and beyond. The role will see trusting relationships built between known young people in the community, support the young people and help guide them into positive provision or employment. The focus will be on the number of positive hours these young people can spend with their mentors and away from negative influences in their lives.

Your main responsibilities:

• Delivery of targeted 1-2-1 work with young people.
• Delivery of targeted individual and small group work with young people in schools.
• Develop positive relationships between you and the young people to ensure you get the best outcomes.
• Collect and store data to evidence the impact of the 1-2-1 work and mentoring to ensure it is sustainable and continues to change the lives of the young people we work with.
• To be part of developing our mentoring strategy and ensure we meet the needs of young people in Bristol now and in the long term.
• To use early intervention where possible and to provide long-term opportunities and pathways, working with clear evidence of need and agreed success criteria.
• Work closely with parents/carers and professionals to support the needs of their young people.
• Building new relationships with local schools, youth organisations and other agencies to increase capacity and referrals into programmes.

You will have:

• An understanding of the issues young people face, specifically in relation to young people in areas of deprivation.
• Experience in working with targeted groups or individuals in areas of deprivation through building positive relationships and mentoring.
• An understanding of safeguarding and health and safety in a youth work setting.
• A proven ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
• A commitment to supporting young people and the principles of equality and diversity.
• Self-motivated and the ability to work on own initiative.
• Excellent communication skills, including written, telephone and interpersonal skills.
• Proven planning and organization skills.
• IT literate.
• Full UK driving license.

Working alongside the HR Admin and Payroll team, to be responsible for the effective day to day running of Bank Support Worker payroll processes, effective utilisation of the Bank Support Workers, and use of Bank Support Worker portal to aid in the transfer to a new Bank and Agency system.

What you'll do:

To ensure the transfer of Bank Staff information to new Bank and Agency system.
To ensure we have accurate and up to date recording of bank staff on Bank IT system and HR system (iTrent)
To ensure ongoing compliance (DBS, Right to Work and training renewals) are kept up to date
To understand general availability of our BSW's to help managers find suitable bank staff for shifts.
To communicate key messages to our Bank Staff as needed.
To work with HR Business Partners and relevant managers if bank staff need suspending/removing from the bank system.
Work with Managers to review BSW hours in line with Working Time Directive and Overtime Policy to ensure excessive hours not worked
To complete BSW monthly payroll check and calculate salary top ups.
To work with BSW and payroll team to resolve payroll queries
To complete general administration of BSW references and confirmation of employment letters.
Any other duties as reasonably required within the role.

We are looking for two individuals to help deliver an impactful GOALS service across London and build effective networks of support for people before, during and after treatment.

A main aspect of the role will be to support and work closely with individuals presenting with lived experience of gambling harm issues and/or people affected by this issue. The GOALS Supporter will understand gambling related harm and dependency issues and be able to ensure safe working environments and take a robust lead on safeguarding and harm minimisation procedures and policy.

The post holder will work with the Director of Support Services and GOALS Coordinator to support the development and maintenance of the systems and structure of the service, ensuring that governance and polices are implemented, safeguarding and safe working practices are systematic and develop a clear understanding of how the service integrates with the national gambling treatment service.

Other support activities will be developed, such as group support and weekly meet ups.

The post holder will develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, deliver presentations and other promotions within community, education and health centres to help grow and develop the service.
