Befriending Life Links Coordinator Pembrokeshire

You will be working from the Haverfordwest Office, as well as being home based, and travel throughout Pembrokeshire is essential.

Salary: DP2 £21,195 - £24,670 per annum depending on experience

Hours: 35hrs per week full time, and job share will be considered

We are looking to recruit a self-motivated, enthusiastic, hard-working experienced coordinator to join our charity at an exciting time in its development. You will be committed to the daily coordination of our Befriending Life Links project in Pembrokeshire. This is an interesting and varied role providing administrative support across the organisation.  As the first point of contact within the organisation you will be responsible for liaising with a large range of stakeholders from supporters to Members of Parliament.

As a Youth Intervention Practitioner working on our Youth Violence Intervention Programme in Birmingham, you will work across two hospital sites – Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QE) and Heartlands Hospital (HH). The role is primarily based at QE day to day and will visit and take referrals from the other sites on a regular basis. 

As a Youth Intervention Practitioner based in the A&E departments you will support young people who are experiencing trauma or tragedy and their families. You’ll be part of a team that is fully embedded in the hospital and that is highly valued by clinicians and community partners alike.

To do this well you need to be a people person; passionate about supporting young people, and excited at the prospect of working in a fast-paced and exceptionally busy environment. You’ll need a proven ability to work with high risk, vulnerable young people and an understanding of the impact intense, short-term work can have.You must be a strong communicator: as comfortable building a relationship with a young person as you are liaising with our clinical colleagues. Experience working with young people experiencing exploitation, violence, mental health, substance misuse and other areas of need, is advantageous but full training will be provided. Post Title: Youth Violence Intervention Practitioner 

Location: The post will work across all Birmingham service sites but be based primarily at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. You will work with patients via phone and in person at our offices and outreach locations such as hospitals. We are recruiting a Support Coordinator to join our Herts Haven Cafe team.

About the Project

• Hertfordshire Mind Network is proud to provide early intervention support to children and young people experiencing poor mental health across Hertfordshire. We provide a combination of support through psychoeducational workshops, open access, 1:1 and group support.
• We are expanding our provision, to offer drop in, open access community support to 10–18-year-olds across the county who need someone to talk to about their mental health in that moment. This space will offer timely support, in a person-centred, trauma informed way.
• The objectives of Hertfordshire Mind Network’s Herts Haven Café service are:
• To improve the mental wellbeing of children and young people experiencing mental health issues, including crisis presentations, in Hertfordshire.
• To provide drop in, no referral required, timely support to 10-18 year olds.
• To support children and young people in Hertfordshire to access community based mental health help.
• To increase early access to help for people experiencing mental health crisis in Hertfordshire, by providing a clear and effective pathway to services provided across the CYP MHS system.

About the Role:

The key purpose of this post is to be an integral member of staff delivering the Herts Haven Café service, facilitating drop-in mental health support for children and young people aged 10-18. As a practitioner you will meet the varying needs of the individual, as they present, meaning no day may look the same.

A person-centred approach will be maintained, and this role is pivotal to ensuring CYP have a warm and welcoming space to turn to. You will be working as a team to facilitate support, deliver brief mental health interventions, signposting, and ensure timely information, guidance and referrals are provided for ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities

• To play an integral role in instilling HMN’s values throughout the Herts Haven Cafe Service.
• To play a key part in the development and delivery of quality CYP mental health support services.
• To provide consistent and clear communication to the team, working proactively and with initiative.
• To be part of a cooperative and collaborative team that is flexible and adaptable to changing requirements.
• To deliver 1:1 and group interventions, depending on need, flexibly and creatively.
• To ensure that every individual accessing the service receives, safe and trusted support.
• To create and review risk assessments, wellness plans, crisis support plans, safety plans, as well as signposting resources, as required.
• To proactively recognise indicators of deteriorating mental health and facilitate appropriate action, whilst liaising with relevant agencies e.g., C-CATT, Emergency Duty Teams, CYP MHS, etc.
• To work alongside Crisis Teams in line with joint protocols, where required, to support those individuals experiencing a mental health crisis.
• To signpost and refer effectively into other Herts Mind Network services, as well as alternative VCFSE and statutory organisations.

• Annual leave entitlement of 25 days per year pro rata, rising in increments to a max. of 29 days pro rata after 5 years employment (plus 8 days Bank Holidays)

We are looking for two Community Energy Engagement Advisers to join our Retail and Cadent teams to deliver energy support sessions in local communities using the Scope retail stores in the North or South regions. 

Fixed term 2 years, 35 hours a week

We are recruiting for 2 positions, one in the North Region and one in the South Region.

Location: Base to be confirmed, working within the North or South region with some working from home.

The role 

As Community Energy Engagement Adviser, you will be empowering individuals and families through workshops and one-to-one support. You will train retail staff and volunteers to engage with individuals and families, with a particular emphasis on energy advice and support.

The service will help customers through their unfair extra costs and additional vulnerability to fuel poverty. 

The successful candidate must pass an Enhanced DBS check

You will:

• Plan and deliver training for retail staff and volunteers on energy support.
• Work with local organisations to reach those needing energy advice.
• Create and share information on energy saving, bill management, and renewable energy benefits.
• Track and evaluate the effectiveness of community sessions and individual interventions, and adjust strategies as needed.
• Keep updated on energy sector changes, legislation, grants, and best practices.
• Ensure operations meet community needs and organisational goals.
• Follow organisational policies and industry regulations.
  Explore new technologies and partnerships to improve service delivery.

About you

It is desirable that you have a good knowledge of Energy and Utilities advice.

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written to be able to support communities and individuals who would benefit most from energy advice and support. 
• Be able to plan and deliver engaging and informative energy support workshops within local communities, tailoring content to meet the diverse needs of attendees. 
• Have the ability to show empathy and being able to respond positively to change while being able to deal effectively with conflicting priorities will allow to succeed within this role. 
• Good working knowledge of IT including Microsoft Office Products and are confident user of digital technology demonstrating a positive approach to the adoption of innovative products and tools.
• Be able to track and evaluate the impact of your community sessions and one-to-one interventions, adjusting strategies to improve outreach and support effectiveness. 
• Bring drive and enthusiasm to your role and can demonstrate that you care passionately about improving the lives of disabled people and their families.
