OVERALL PURPOSE 

The Education Training Development Manager will lead the operational development, and delivery of the national education training programme, ensuring it aligns with organisational priorities and emerging national guidance. The role is responsible for the coordination, growth and quality assurance of PANS PANDAS UK’s national CPD training offer for teachers and educational psychologists (EPs), supporting the development and delivery of high‑quality training modules and strengthening partnerships.

We are seeking a Family Support Worker to join the team in providing effective and efficient running of the Visitor Centre, Play Area in the Prison Visits Hall, assisting on Family Days to ensure prisoners and their families have a valuable visiting experience, improving the quality of visits for children, young people and families, and helping to maintain positive, healthy and supportive family relationships.

Ideally, you will have experience of dealing with people in a customer service-based role and be able to demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving skills, sometimes under challenging circumstances, whilst embracing a non-judgemental and empathetic work ethic. Experience in providing play activities for children of a range of ages would be advantageous.

ROLE OVERVIEW

From honing our campaign strategy to sparking collaborations with external organisations and delivering creative and engaging content, you’ll be a key player in shaping how RLSS UK and our work are seen by the public and partners.

You will lead the development and delivery of impactful, insight-driven campaigns that increase public awareness of both RLSS UK and the importance of water safety, share the skills and knowledge needed to prevent drowning, and engage and educate diverse audiences to amplify RLSS UK’s mission. Working closely with colleagues across marketing and communications, policy and public affairs, education, and membership, you will create compelling campaigns that inspire action, strengthen our brand presence, and educate.

You will collaborate with partners, members, stakeholders, supporters, and media outlets to ensure RLSS UK remains a trusted national voice in water safety. Through strategic storytelling, public mobilisation, and cross-channel campaign delivery, your work will help influence behaviours, shape understanding, and ultimately reduce accidental drownings.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Campaign Leadership

• Lead, develop, and deliver RLSS UK’s major national public campaigns, including:

- Drowning Prevention Week

- Don’t Drink and Drown

- Splash Safely at Home

- Project manage the end-to-end‑ delivery of multichannel campaigns (digital, print, PR, in-person events,‑ and partner channels).

• Ensure all campaigns are insight-led, supported by relevant data and evidence, designed to be inclusive and accessible, and effectively reach audiences at higher risk of drowning.
• Support public-facing communications for policy and public affairs, including web, email, and social channels.
• Contribute to organisation-wide planning, ensuring campaigns support fundraising, education, and membership goals where appropriate.
• Develop end‑to‑end campaign journeys for supporters, partners, and stakeholders who engage with or pledge support, to deepen involvement, encourage advocacy, and maximise long‑term impact.
• Work proactively across internal directorates to co‑create and deliver campaigns that maximise reach, effectiveness, and impact.
• Conduct audience and stakeholder mapping for each campaign to identify priority groups, collaboration opportunities, and the most effective channels, partners, and messengers to maximise reach and impact.
• Ensure every campaign has a documented project plan, agreed before launch, with defined objectives, timelines, roles, and KPIs.

Creative Development & Content

• Produce engaging, accessible, and inclusive content that resonates with diverse audiences and consistently adheres to RLSS UK brand guidelines.
• Lead creative development, case study sourcing, storytelling, celebrity/influencer engagement, and campaign assets.
• Drive user‑generated content as a core engagement strategy, encouraging partners, members, and the RLSS UK community to share stories, visuals, and experiences that support campaign objectives.

Partnerships & Collaboration

• Build strong partnerships with communities and organisations, including emergency services, sports bodies, youth groups, and local authorities, to amplify campaign reach and impact.
• Support the participation of people with lived experience in campaigns, including bereaved families, with care and tact, ensuring authentic and meaningful involvement.
• Proactively identify and develop new partnerships, influencer and celebrity relationships to expand the reach, engagement and impact of each major campaign.

Delivery & Campaign Operations

• Oversee campaign production schedules, asset development, and delivery across all channels.
• Maintain campaign budgets and align spending with goals.
• Develop and maintain campaign‑specific brand guidance to support consistent use of RLSS UK messaging, tone of voice, and visual identity across all channels and audiences.
• Create and manage campaign packs for partners that set clear requirements for the correct use of the RLSS UK name, assets, messaging, and attribution, ensuring consistent representation across all partner activity.
• Ensure all campaign activity is consistent with RLSS UK brand guidelines, inclusive and accessible, on-brand, compliant, and aligned with RLSS UK’s strategic priorities.
• Ensure all campaign materials are reviewed and approved in line with RLSS UK brand governance processes prior to public launch.
   

Evaluation & Reporting

• Set clear campaign KPIs and monitor performance using robust, insight-driven metrics.
• Provide regular reporting on campaign reach, engagement, outcomes, and contribution to reducing drowning risk.
• Complete post‑campaign evaluations within agreed timeframes, identifying clear, actionable recommendations to inform continuous improvement across future campaigns.
• Use campaign evaluations, performance data, and insight to drive measurable year‑on‑year improvement in campaign outcomes, applying learning consistently to improve reach, engagement, and impact.

Purpose of the role 

The Youth Development Coordinator will lead and expand our youth development programmes, supporting hundreds of children and young people across Gateshead, Newcastle, and Northumberland to build wellbeing and a strong sense of belonging through nature-based programmes.

You will lead the delivery and coordination of our youth programmes, creating meaningful, structured opportunities for young people aged 5–18 to grow, connect, and develop skills for life.

You will play a key role in:

• Supporting young people to feel safer, more confident, and better able to manage emotions
• Creating opportunities for peer connection, leadership, and progression
• Developing pathways into volunteering, accredited training, and leadership roles
• Working alongside communities to ensure our programmes are inclusive, accessible, and shaped by young people themselves

This is a hands-on role combining programme delivery, coordination, mentoring, and relationship-building — ideal for someone passionate about youth work, connecting with nature, and making a lasting difference.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Delivery & Coordination

• Lead and coordinate the delivery of weekly Forest School and youth development sessions across multiple sites
• Plan and deliver structured, engaging programmes with clear outcomes for young people
• Support the development of a joined-up youth pathway from early years through to leadership opportunities
• Ensure sessions are inclusive, creative, and responsive to young people’s needs
• Carry out risk assessments and ensure safe, high-quality delivery at all times

Youth Development & Mentoring

• Develop a unified youth development and leadership framework
• Build strong, trusting relationships with children and young people aged 5–18
• Mentor and support young people on Forest School pathways to develop confidence, resilience, and social skills
• Create opportunities for peer mentoring and youth leadership
• Support young people to access volunteering, peer mentoring, and progression pathways
• Recognise and celebrate achievements through events, showcases, and storytelling
• Conduct observations and write reports to inform EHCPs, funding requirements, and partner communications

Partnerships & Community Engagement

• Build and maintain relationships with schools, families, and local partners
• Work collaboratively with external partners to ensure a holistic approach to participant development
• Engage young people and families in shaping and co-designing programmes to reflect their needs, aspirations, and lived experiences
• Increase access for those facing barriers to participation

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning

• Track and evaluate participant progress, programme outcomes, and impacts on social, emotional, and leadership skills
• Gather feedback, case studies, and evidence of impact
• Contribute to reporting for funders and organisational learning using qualitative and quantitative data
• Use insight to continuously improve delivery

Volunteer Coordination

• Coordinate a volunteer management process
• Contribute to creating a positive and inclusive volunteer experience
• Support volunteers to build confidence and skills alongside young people

Safeguarding, Inclusion & Wellbeing

• Ensure programmes are trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming, culturally inclusive, and accessible
• Follow safeguarding, child protection, and risk management procedures
• Create environments where all young people feel safe, respected, and able to be themselves

Person Specification

Essential

• Previous experience in youth development work, outdoor learning, or similar settings
• Strong experience in project/programme coordination and delivery
• Experience delivering structured programmes with measurable outcomes
• Proven ability to mentor, motivate, and support young people, including those facing barriers or with additional needs
• Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills
• A commitment to inclusivity, trauma-informed practice, and empowering young people
• A strong understanding of the challenges facing young people in the North East (particularly Gateshead, Newcastle, and Northumberland), or a willingness to develop this knowledge
• Knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment, and child protection procedures
• Experience developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and delivery partners

Desirable

• Forest School Level 3 qualification (or willingness to work towards)
• Experience in Forest School, outdoor education, or nature-based youth work

Impact

Through your work, you will support hundreds of children and young people each year. This role will directly influence the lives of over 400 children and young people across the North East, particularly those facing disadvantage, exclusion, or systemic barriers.

The Independent Training, delivered in collaboration with IPCAPA at the British Psychotherapy Foundation (bpf) and the Anna Freud Centre/UCL is seeking progress advisors to support 4-5 trainees on the Doctorate in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy training from the start of their training through to completion.

This is an exciting opportunity to guide and support trainees in their development as future child psychotherapists. The successful postholders will liaise with the year 1 tutor, clinical and research tutors, service supervisors and intensive case supervisors. There will be regular team meetings with the year tutor other progress advisors responsible for the year group. Outside of this, working hours are flexible.

We are looking for ACP registered Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapists with current CAMHS experience, who have an active interest in working with our year tutor and staff group to support trainees’ progress. The role may suit new career CAPts who wish to develop connections and experience within the field of CAPy training schools. There will be opportunity to take advantage of in house training to become an Intensive Case Supervisor and for additional paid hours of clinical teaching such as practice or clinical seminar groups as appropriate.

Essex Pedal Power is an exciting programme led by TAWS, Essex County Council and Active Essex to support more people to cycle by removing the barriers to participation. Essex Pedal Power allows eligible residents, including adults and children, to apply for a quality bicycle. The inclusive programme aims to make cycling accessible for everyone providing access to employment, training and educational opportunities or key local services.

Community Connector: The Role

The Community Connector will engage with a wide range of local trusted organisations (LTO’s) to activate the start of the cycling journey for adults and families. They will effectively communicate the aims and benefits of the project to LTOs/referral partners. They will advocate the benefits of cycling to the target audience, whilst recognising the barriers that people may face in participating. They will actively seek opportunities to better understand the lived experience of adults and families and barriers they may face to being physically actively and mentally well.

Compost Culture is a five-year project taking place in Birmingham, supported by the National Lottery’s Climate Action Fund (NLCAF) and led by Incredible Surplus, that seeks to change the narrative on compost and support behaviour change, following a two- year initial project. This project will involve practical compost and growing initiatives alongside creative media and storytelling to show the relevance and importance of compost in how society moves forward. The project will build a resilient, self-sustaining network of composting and growing activity across Birmingham. It will inspire and support individuals, community groups, organisations and businesses to try composting and embed it as part of their daily activity and press the local authority and other agencies to support hyper-local composting as a valuable element of food waste management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a “Compost Village” approach across project sites by building strong relationships with households, community organisations, churches, local groups and schools.
• Facilitate community knowledge-sharing around composting, soil health, waste reduction, and the role composting plays in climate action and local sustainability.
• Support the development of local composting loops, encouraging communities to reuse organic materials effectively and reduce waste.
• Deliver a strong schools-focused programme, including educating pupils and school staff on composting, biodiversity, and environmental responsibility.
• Support the installation and ongoing use of Ridan composting systems within schools alongside other composting methods appropriate to each setting.
• Work collaboratively across project delivery, supporting wider engagement activities and site-based practical work. 

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• A genuine passion for nature, sustainability, composting, and environmental education.
• Basic understanding of soil health, composting processes, growth cycles, and the organisms that support healthy ecosystems.
• Interest in biodiversity, wildlife, and “mini beasts” that contribute to healthy soil systems.
• Confident communicator with the ability to engage positively with schools, community groups, and volunteers.
• Good level of physical fitness, with the ability to undertake practical outdoor work while following safe lifting and manual handling guidelines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small delivery team.

Desirable:



• Experience working with schools, young people, or community engagement projects.
• Experience in composting, horticulture, environmental projects, or outdoor education.
• Knowledge of climate action, circular economy principles, or community sustainability initiatives.
