About the role
As Participation Manager, you will lead our work engaging children, young people and families with lived experience of poverty – ensuring their voices are central to everything we do. You will be focused on planning & delivering children and young people's participation and embedding a children's rights approach. You will build strategic relationships and ensure we are involving the participation of children and families to co-produce solutions and create meaningful opportunities
In this role, you will:
- Build strong, trusting relationships with children, young people and families from low-income backgrounds.
- Design and facilitate participation activities — like advisory groups, events, and campaigns — that put their experiences front and centre.
- Support community partners to involve children and young people meaningfully in their own work.
- Collaborate with policy, campaigns and media colleagues to amplify voices and influence decision-makers.
- Ensure insights from children and families are recorded and used to shape strategy, practice and policy.
About you

- Proven experience designing and delivering participation initiatives that are safe, empowering and impactful.
- A solid understanding of safeguarding and the barriers faced by children and families living in poverty.
- A background in policy influence or community engagement, with experience working directly with families and young people.

Ways of Working:

The opportunity......
You will play a central role in growing income across the Hospice and driving forward new, relationship-based approaches to fundraising.
With a focus on Major Donors and Trusts and Foundations you will personally identify, develop and manage relationships, with a focus on £5-25k+ opportunities.
You will develop a new approach for managing and fundraising from small trusts and have the opportunity to learn and grow through working with the AD for Development on larger opportunities.
You’ll bring creativity and a results-oriented outlook, contributing to the wider success of fundraising at the Hospice.
The must haves.....
- Fundraising Success: At least three years’ experience operating in a Trusts and Foundations role (or relevant transferable skills) and a track record of personally securing and stewarding five figure gifts
- Proposition development: Creative in outlook and with experience of developing donor-centric proposals and reports
- Portfolio management: Knowledgeable in developing and managing a portfolio, and key prospect management tools and systems
- Data management: Experienced CRM user and with working knowledge of Data Protection Laws

Job Purpose

As Advocacy Manager (maternity cover), you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality support services for survivors of sexual violence, particularly those engaging with or considering engagement with the criminal justice system. You will manage a team of ISVAs (Independent Sexual Violence Advocates), Caseworkers, and our Advocacy Operations Administrator, ensuring excellence in recruitment, induction, and training.
Reporting to the Director of Programmes, you will play a key leadership role within our organisation, working collaboratively with colleagues across our frontline services and our training and prevention teams.

The Role
Reporting into our Customer and Neighbourhood Director, you'll be responsible for the development of strategies, policies and procedures relating to all tenancy sustainment activities. Being a specialist in this field, you'll also scan the horizon to identify potential significant changes in external policy and financial landscape, introducing best practice from other organisations and sectors.
You'll be the main point of contact internally for all matters relating to tenancy sustainment, working collaboratively across the business to ensure that consistent best practices are embedded within Locality teams and the wider business. Externally, you'll represent SNG and our commitment and vision in tenancy sustainment – influencing and working alongside key external stakeholders and delivery partners, building relationships aligned to our corporate and customer strategies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to provide and source expert advice, and manage the development of services, to ensure SNG meets its commitments, monitors its performance and evidences its delivery relating to regulatory obligations, changing regulations, guidance and best practice
- Developing and leading a stakeholder management plan across local, regional and national government bodies responsible for the delivery to specialist areas
- Piloting partnerships with other services to enhance the provision of support to SNG's customers and developing funding solutions to provide support to core budgets

What we need from you

- Ability to plan, track and forecast income and expenditure against relevant budgets, to deliver a value for money service whilst taking actions to mitigate any risks
- Evidence of delivering on innovative concepts, utilising future changes in policy to support flexibility in a responsive organisation
- Experience of promoting an organisation at a regional and national level to raise the profile of the business
- Ability to inspire, support and develop others to optimise their performance

Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of communications strategies and campaigns, working with the Trase Communications Lead and subject matter experts.
- Write communications materials including website and social media copy, newsletters and press releases, and proactively investigate relevant opportunities to showcase our work.
- Upload content onto our websites and be responsible for our organisational mailing lists through Mailchimp.

Benefits
Salary: £32,000 full time equivalent. This role sits within Band E on Global Canopy’s remuneration framework.
Nature of contract: Full time, permanent. We are a flexible employer and welcome candidates wishing to work flexibly.
Base: Our office is in Oxford, with flexible home-working arrangements in place. Communications team members are expected to attend monthly meetings in Oxford. Further in-person meetings may be required as needed.
Holidays: 36 days (including bank/public holidays) for discretionary use across the annual leave year. Option to purchase up to an additional 5 days or equivalent of one week’s leave.

Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Policy and External Affairs Manager to lead our national profile, strengthen our reputation, and drive forward our mission as leaders in children’s palliative care.
Purpose: You will play a pivotal role in strengthening CHAS’ national presence, growing trust and credibility, and positioning CHAS as a thought leader in children's palliative care. You will be responsible for managing all external affairs, with a focus on strategic communications aligned with CHAS’ mission and objectives. You will also oversee crisis communications, ensuring the organisation responds effectively and maintains public trust in challenging situations.

The Policy and External Affairs Manager is a key role in the Marketing and Communications team and reports into the Head of Marketing and Communications. This team manages marketing, fundraising communications, external affairs, policy development, public affairs and internal communications. CHAS Marketing and communications team sits within the Income Generation and Engagement directorate led by the director of Income Generation and Engagement.
This pivotal role will support CHAS to strengthen our national presence, growing trust and credibility, and positioning CHAS as a thought leader in children's palliative care. Working across the charity this role is responsible for managing policy, public affairs, external affairs and managing communications with internal and external stakeholders including support for crisis management.
