About the role

Who are we looking for?

We require someone with excellent skills and knowledge in communications, public relations and marketing with at  least two years’ experience working in a busy and varied communications role. Although not essential, knowledge and understanding of homelessness and the charity sector would also be an advantage.

Within this hybrid role, you can be based at home or in an Emmaus community. Wherever you are located, maintaining ongoing positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders is vitally important. This role will suit someone located in the South West or London as regular travel (usually at least one community visit per week) will be required to Bristol, Gloucester and London.

The individuals you’ll support have recently been discharged from mental health hospitals and are often navigating complex challenges, including homelessness, trauma, and limited access to support networks. Many are in a vulnerable state, adjusting to life outside of hospital while managing mental health conditions, substance use, or social isolation. Your role will be to provide compassionate, trauma-informed support that helps them stabilise, regain confidence, and take the first steps toward independent living, all within a focused six-week resettlement period.

Key Responsibilities

THE ROLE

Working as part of a small finance team you will process Railway Children UK’s expenditure and income transactions accurately and in a timely manner, including being responsible for the purchasing cycle on the accounts system, and support with the processing of income on the fundraising database. You will engage with all departments to ensure that they are supported and gain an insight into all aspects of the organisation.

Responsibilities

Client Support

Place of Work

This is a home-based role, open to candidates based in the UK. The successful candidate will work remotely as part of Ten Ten’s home-based team.

The role is full-time (35 hours per week), typically worked across Monday to Friday. However, we are open to applications on a job-share basis, where two individuals work together to fulfil the responsibilities of the role. While there is some flexibility in working hours, availability is expected during core daytime hours to ensure collaboration with colleagues and timely support for schools.

ARUK: Towards A Cure, our strategy to 2033, sets out our path towards a cure. It defines the changes we want to see for people affected by dementia and identifies the unique role we play.

We are currently mid-way through the first 3-year cycle of our 10-year strategy. Reporting to the Head of Programme Management, the newly created role of Strategy Manager will take the lead in managing and evolving our in-year strategic planning and progress reporting frameworks—ensuring they stay dynamic, effective, and aligned with our broader growth ambitions.  They will also ensure that ARUK’s strategy remains forefront of employee’s minds and embedded in teams’ work, building effective relationships with teams across ARUK.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Strategic Reporting

· Manage engagement with Heads of Department, programme leads, and key stakeholders to shape and align in-year milestones across strategic initiatives, ensuring cohesive delivery of organisational priorities.

· Conduct high-level analysis of milestone data to identify strategic opportunities, interdependencies, and key internal and external drivers. Work collaboratively with stakeholders to build support for integrated ways of working and ensure consistent communication across teams.

· Deliver strategic progress reporting at key intervals throughout the year, monitoring progress against milestones. Present key findings and forward-looking recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team and Heads of Department to inform decision-making.

· Develop clear, engaging, and informative reports for internal audiences that effectively communicate progress and priorities, helping to ensure the successful delivery of ARUK’s strategy.

· Proactively identify emerging risks to strategic delivery, assess their implications, and provide clear, evidence-based recommendations to senior stakeholders on mitigating actions and contingency planning.

Supporting the Delivery of Our Organisational Strategy

· Manage the coordination of ARUK’s annual planning and budgeting process in collaboration with the Head of Programme Management and Director of Strategy & Governance. Take day-to-day ownership of the process, ensuring effective communication and engagement across all levels of the organisation.

· Work closely with the Head of Programme Management and key stakeholders to assess and improve organisational structures and ways of working, with a focus on enhancing cross-team collaboration and the effectiveness of strategic working groups.

· Undertake horizon scanning and sector research to identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities relevant to strategy development and delivery.

· Support the development of strategic capability across the organisation by partnering with teams on their planning and strategy work, helping embed structured, forward-looking thinking.

· Collaborate with external consultants and partners to support the delivery of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.

· Communicating About Our Organisational Strategy

· Support the Head of Programme Management and Director of Strategy & Governance in engaging employees across the organisation in the delivery of our strategy, helping to create clarity and alignment.

· Work with managers and Heads of Department to build support for updated or new ways of working that enable more effective strategy execution.

· Ensure that strategy-related communications are clear, timely, and relevant—particularly for managers—so they can effectively translate strategic goals into team-level action.

What we are looking for:

· Proven experience in strategy development or strategic planning, preferably within the charity sector.

· Experience of translating strategic thinking into practical plans and actions.

· Strong analytical skills, with both a keen eye for detail and understanding of the broader picture. Able to use data to drive decision-making.

· Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products.

· Experienced in working in a matrix or cross-team environment.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills and stakeholder management skills.

· Natural collaborator with an ability to establish and maintain lasting relationships both internally and externally.

· Ability to build relationships, trust and respect at all levels. Effectively communicates with people of all different technical abilities.

Additional Information:

Ways of working:  As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Roles that are classed as part of the Agile ways of working are not able to claim any costs for Mileage/Travel on Public Transport, Accommodation and/or Meals.  This includes when attending the office for various meetings/events.

Operation Christmas Child UK (OCC) has implemented a strategic volunteer ministry, investing in teams of volunteers who will multiply themselves and hugely extend the reach of OCC’s mission.

OCC is the world’s largest shoebox appeal where Samaritan’s Purse, together with local churches here and overseas, distributes from the UK 1/4 million gift-filled shoeboxes annually to children in need overseas and in so doing demonstrates God’s love in a tangible way while sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.

A resourceful and energetic Regional Manager is needed to recruit, select, equip, and lead teams of volunteers throughout the 32 London boroughs.

You will be passionate about developing others towards highly effective ministry, teamwork and increased personal competency.

You will also directly engage churches to participate in OCC in areas not yet covered by Connect volunteers. A special opportunity will be engaging London churches that have partnered with our sister ministry, Billy Graham Evangelistic Association for the June 2025 God Loves You Tour London.

You will be confident to take initiative with people and projects and also have good administrative and organisational skills. You will also enjoy envisioning the numerous volunteers who participate in the OCC shoebox appeal each year.

You will enthusiastically support the Christian purposes of OCC and Samaritan’s Purse and be committed to the value of well-equipped volunteers and to developing them further. Candidates will have proven people and project management and administrative experience in the workplace and be educated to A levels or ideally Degree level.

This role is based in region, and so prospective candidates should currently live in the region and provide their own transport for which defined expenses will be paid.

The ISVA provides proactive support and advocacy to female survivors of sexual violence who are engaging with the criminal justice system. You will work as part of a growing feminist Rape Crisis service that is developing to meet the needs of women and girls. This post requires travel across East London, and a hybrid model of home, outreach and office working.

We’re looking for a highly organised and self-motivated woman who is passionate about ending violence against women and girls. You’ll have a ‘can-do’ approach and demonstratable commitment to nia’s feminist approach to supporting women and girls. We particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and Minoritised women.
