Working arrangements

The role will also involve travel across the UK for shoots and campaigns.

Working hours are 9-5, Monday to Friday. Plus you'll participate in our out of hours service on a rotational shift basis.

About Working Well Trust

Working Well Trust is a mental health and employment charity in London. All of our projects share the aim of improving the lives of people with mental health support needs, learning disabilities and/or complex issues through training and employment.

We are recruiting a IPS Employment Advisor to join our IPS service part time, you will be based in the borough of Newham, working 17.5 hours per week. Working Well Trust's services have previously been awarded the IPS Grow quality mark and adheres closely to the principles of the IPS model in supporting people in to employment. This role will be working with clients who have mental health support needs, wanting to gain paid employment. 

Experience of employment support is not essential, it is more important that you share our passion and commitment to employment as an integral aspect of wellbeing and supporting people to find the right job for them. You will receive training on the IPS model and in supporting people with mental health issues. We welcome applications from people with lived experience of mental health, either personally or through a close contact.

You need to have a desire to support people to achieve their employment goals, and the ability to multitask and manage your workload effectively. Good organisation skills are essential for this role, in addition to an interest in mental health, and the role it plays in the workplace. The successful candidate will need to become comfortable in approaching employers, and showcase the advantages of our service in order to work with them to recruit our clients to fill vacancies and sustain employment.

What you’ll be doing

You will work with clients (managing a caseload) who have mental health support needs, to assist them in securing sustainable paid employment in line with their preferences. You will deliver the IPS approach (for which training will be given); providing person centred support and guidance to clients, whilst building positive relationships with local employers to enable clients to move into suitable employment.

You will work as part of a mental health team (NHS Trust) maintaining positive and integrated relationships, fostering a holistic approach to recovery through employment. You will work closely with clinical teams, providing a coordinated approach that always remains client led.  You will also be working to targets whilst maintaining a high-quality service. 

What you’ll need

Experience in employment support is not essential. We are looking for someone who brings:

• A genuine desire to support people into meaningful employment.
• Commitment to person-centred work and either experience of or enthusiasm to learn the IPS approach.
• Confidence engaging with employers and promoting the benefits of our service.
• Good organisation skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively.

The role:

What You Will Do

Data Management & Compliance

· Drive corporate income through data driven insights that align to the strategic Income Generation direction.

· Apply guidance from the Fundraising Regulator and Institute of Fundraising to all fundraising activity.

What You’ll Bring

· Strategic thinker with the ability to plan and prioritise effectively.

This is a great opportunity for someone to join our service supporting Unpaid Carers across Lewisham. In this role, you will work closely with Primary Care Networks, GP practices, local authorities, social workers, voluntary sector, community centres, and faith groups to help identify and engage with Unpaid Adult Carers, Young Adult Carers and Young Carers.  

In this role, you will support services to improve registration, communication, support and accessibility, promoting ‘Carer Friendly’ environments and practice that supports the wellbeing of Unpaid Carers.  

You’ll need to be able to develop effective relationships with key staff, agree action plans, establish communication pathways and provide updates. By collating and sharing successes, you will support the development of good practice across primary healthcare, social care and community services in the borough.

This is a 9 month fixed-term role and applicants will need relevant personal or professional experience of working with Unpaid Carers and/or vulnerable adults or children in a social care, health, education or voluntary and community sector. You’ll need a practical understanding of barriers faced by Unpaid Carers, and an awareness of cultural differences and access to services.

We are looking to recruit a Funding Officer to join the London, Southeast and East Team (LSE&E), within the Strategy, Learning Partnerships team (SLP). You will be part of a team, led by a Funding Manager and comprised of several other Funding Officers.

The LSE&E team is headed up by a Senior Head of Regional Funding, together with two Senior Grant Making Managers (SGMM) for London & South East. There are 5 local patches for the South East and East and 3 local patches for London.

SLP supports both LSE&E regional grant making, England wide grant making and Partnerships. SLP Funding Officers are involved in England Wide and Partnership Work beyond LSE&E and across England regions. They work with LSE&E colleagues, the Regional Leadership Team and England Wide.

Using regional priorities and new IMD data, you will be horizon scanning opportunities for intentional external engagement and contribute to the LSE&E Regional Funding Plans.

You will support the region to deliver to the new routes to partnership and England Wide funding. You will learn about and support the region with Funding Mechanisms that will enable flexible grant making.

You will have an interest in learning and act as the Regional Learning Lead (up to 20% of time – variable according to team / regional priorities).

With oversight from your manager, you will provide leadership to SLP learning and implement high quality and relevant learning & events that meet the strategic objectives of the region.

You will guide and support the LSE&E Mission Leads – these are a group of Funding Officers who support Learning across LSE&E.

You will support them to deliver on learning needs, priorities and events – and work collaboratively alongside the rest of SLP and the Regional Leadership Team (RLT).

In return we can offer the opportunity to develop relevant skills and gain experience working with one of the largest funders in the UK. You can progress to becoming a trained and skilled Funding Officer with good progression routes in the sector.

The Community Connectors programme is an exciting partnership between Community Links, Aston Mansfield, Mind in Tower Hamlets, Newham and Redbridge, and the NHS East London Foundation Trust (ELFT).

Community Connectors work alongside ELFT under what is called the Mental Health Transformation Programme. The ethos of the programme is recovery focused, exploring needs through complexity (rather than diagnosis), a focus on a person’s strengths and assets, and on the wider determinants of health and wellbeing.

The role involves providing holistic support to people suffering from a serious mental illness or SMI. Service users will have a single or range of diagnosed conditions, will be known to ELFT and will therefore have a range of needs, including symptoms of anxiety or depression, or have a diagnosis of schizophrenia. Specifically, the Community Connector will work with multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs) who sit within primary care networks or PCNs (clusters of GP practices) across Newham, and will support people in accessing appropriate local services, embodying a true example of wrap around support.

Above all, the Community Connector will be a strong networker who is able to engage multiple stakeholders for the betterment of service user welfare and outcomes.

Sightsavers is looking for an experienced Regional Laboratory Technical Advisor with experience of quality control and capacity building, to provide technical support to laboratories as part of the Reaching the Last Mile Fund (RLMF) programme. About the role

The Reaching the Last Mile Fund (RLMF) expansion project is a six-year, $500m programme that will progress the elimination of onchocerciasis (OV) and lymphatic filariasis (LF) in Africa. Sightsavers is looking for an experienced laboratory professional with direct experience of technical operations and sample analysis, to support the establishment and expansion of a small external quality assurance network and ensure compliance with the relevant accreditation standards.

This is an exciting opportunity to be directly responsible for the standardisation and accreditation of RLMF funded laboratories, implementation of external quality assurance and strengthening logistics and supply chains, in order to support and advance the elimination of OV in Africa. You will be confident managing the collaboration of other laboratories, external communications including to donors and stakeholders, and disseminating information and learnings.

As Regional Laboratory Technical Advisor for RLMF, you will have extensive experience in laboratory systems, quality control and capacity building with the ability to advise, support and provide training. Relevant experience in onchocerciasis and lymphatic filariasis, or other Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) would be beneficial.

This is a large work plan with extensive deliverables and as Laboratory Technical Advisor for RLMF you must be able to confidently work independently. You will undertake significant travel (30-40% of role) in Africa and occasionally visit the Head Office on Haywards Heath UK.

Skills and Experience

• Proven working experience and/or qualifications in laboratory management, quality assurance, laboratory capacity building or similar;
• Experience conducting and quality assuring Enzyme-Linked Immuno-Sorbance Assays (ELISA) in African laboratories
• Previous knowledge and working history conducting and quality assuring Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and quantitative PCR assays
• Working knowledge with GLP, SLIMTA, SLIPTA or ISO 15189 accreditation frameworks
• Management of EQA and quality control in resource constrained environments
• Track record in designing and delivering training to laboratory personnel
• Experience meeting donor driven deadlines on time
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
• Able to work without supervision (within a team)
• Willingness and availability to travel for trainings, attending meetings, workshops and conferences, subject to an appropriate risk assessment being in place
• Current and ongoing right to work in Burkina Faso

Desirable

• Experience with onchocerciasis diagnostics

To support the Black Thrive Lambeth Communities workstream in engaging with Black community members in the boroughs of Black Thrive Lambeth.

The long-term ambition of the Communities workstream is to liaise with Black communities and other stakeholders involved in the delivery of Black Thrive’s Thriving Futures – Scaling Systems Change programme. 

The immediate priority for the role is to identify the people and resources that can support the development of the Communities workstream in Lambeth. This role will work closely with those involved in the Black Thrive Thriving Futures programme and will have a wide range of responsibilities from communications activities, event management to research and administration.

1. Support the Black Thrive LambethLocality Lead in delivering the outputs of Black Thrive’s Thriving Futures – Scaling Systems Change programme and other related activities to achieve programme objectives and milestones.

2. Engage and collaborate with Thriving Futures Collective partners across Haringey, Birmingham, Wales, and Scotland, sharing learning and best practices from community project delivery in Lambeth.

3. Build and maintain strong relationships with Black Thrive Lambeth Black communities by designing, managing, and updating databases to support engagement with community members, partners, contractors, and stakeholders.

4. Maintain Black Thrive’s internal systems to ensure the efficient delivery of the Thriving Futures workstream.

5. Work with the Locality Lead to strengthen engagement with the local community and Black-led voluntary sector in Lambeth.
