Who we are

Every year, thousands of people in the UK face court alone. Often through no choice of their own, people must represent themselves at a moment that could have life-changing outcomes. This includes loss of access to children or homelessness. At the same time, people facing court alone may find themselves up against a party with legal representation. They are instantly at a disadvantage and overwhelmed by the enormity of the challenges they are up against. We supported unrepresented litigants in the civil and family courts in England and Wales over 45,000 times last year.

We provide a safe space with volunteers who listen to each client’s individual story. Last year, over 1000 volunteers helped people to get their thoughts in order, problem-solve and decide next steps, source relevant and reliable legal information, explain complex procedures, complete court forms, and clearly present statements.

At a time when legal support is increasingly limited, we have a vision that no one should have to face court alone.

The role 

Support Through Court is establishing a legal advice clinic for money claim matters under £10,000, for a one-year pilot. Advice will be given to clients across the national service network who have been internally triaged to the clinic.

The role involves day-to day management of the clinic and supervising law students as they facilitate client appointments, conduct research and draft letters of advice. Clients will predominantly be supported remotely with occasional in-person appointments and advice “drop-ins” in the local area. You will train and supervise students to help them gain practical legal skills in a clinic setting, having final sign-off of completed letters of advice/oral advice to ensure clients receive an excellent service.

You will embed the legal advice offering of the clinic into the organisation, increasing and developing referrals from our national service network and supporting staff understanding of referral ability.

You will be a qualified solicitor with at least 3 years PQE (ideally 5+) with an active practicing certificate. You will have experience managing students and/or volunteers and a commitment to supporting Litigants in Person.

4. Scope of Work and Key Responsibilities

     Human Resources administration

• Support recruitment processes, including vacancy logistics, interview scheduling, reference collection, and contract preparation for approved roles.
• Maintain complete and up-to-date personnel files for project staff and consultants, including contracts, IDs, onboarding forms, performance records, and leave documentation.
• Support staff induction processes and ensure that policies, reporting lines, code of conduct requirements, and key administrative procedures are clearly communicated.
• Track attendance, leave, contract dates, renewal points, and other HR actions and raise reminders in advance.

   Administrative Support

• Provide administrative support for meetings, travel arrangements, calendars, document circulation, filing systems, and internal correspondence.
• Maintain project contact lists, mailing groups, organisational charts, and administrative trackers.
• Ensure that project documents requiring signatures, approvals, or controlled circulation are processed efficiently and stored appropriately.

  Policy Compliance & Staff Support

• Support consistent application of HR policies, confidentiality standards, and personnel administration procedures.
• Act as a point of contact for routine HR and administrative queries and route sensitive issues to management appropriately.
• Support the preparation of HR and administration summaries for management review.

5. Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, management, Social Sciences, Humanities, or related field 
• At least 5 years of relevant HR & administrative experience, preferable In NGOs sector.
• Good understanding of HR documentation, personal administration, and ability to handle sensitive information responsibly.

Programme Coordination and Partner Management

Design, Communications and Knowledge Products

• Develop visual and written materials including presentations, one-pagers, capability statements, and reports
• Support media and communications outputs using design tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite
• Contribute to internal and external communications materials to enhance programme visibility
• Support media-related activities, including content development and basic media training where required

Capacity Building and Team Support

• Provide training and guidance to implementing partners on project requirements and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Develop and refine internal documents such as SOPs and guidance materials
• Support onboarding, training, and supervision of interns
• Provide support to colleagues across programme activities as required

Systems, Learning and Operational Support

• Maintain and update programme databases and information systems
• Support feedback collection processes, including surveys and learning inputs
• Contribute to problem-solving and continuous improvement across programmes
• Participate in calls across multiple time zones and undertake occasional travel as required

Procurement and supply chain support

• Support review of procurement requests, specifications, delivery schedules, and procurement documentation for completeness before onward processing.
• Track status of procurement packages, purchase actions, vendor communications, and delivery milestones and flag bottlenecks for management attention.
• Coordinate with the Operations and Logistics Officer in the field on shipment status, local sourcing issues, warehousing constraints, and asset receipt confirmation.

Operational risk management

• Identify operational bottlenecks relating to procurement timing, delivery sequencing, documentation gaps, or service support readiness.
• Provide timely updates to the Programmes Manager on issues requiring escalation or re-prioritisation.

5. Qualifications and Experience

• Degree or equivalent experience in international development, humanitarian studies, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in programme coordination, project management, or humanitarian/development settings
• Proven experience in proposal development, including budget preparation
• Strong experience working with implementing partners and managing multi-country programmes
• Experience reviewing narrative and financial reports and ensuring donor compliance
• Familiarity with working alongside finance and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) teams

6. Core Competencies

• Strong organisational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English required; Arabic is desirable
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Experience developing presentations, reports, and programme materials

The Role

This is a rare opportunity to be on the front line of human rights research and advocacy, joining a specialist organisation with a long track record in promoting the right to freedom of religion or belief (FoRB).

You will undertake research, investigations, monitoring, report-writing and advocacy on freedom of religion and human rights in Asia. You will develop a good relationship with stakeholders and ensure effective and creative ways to advance the research and advocacy on Asia.

Key responsibilities (full responsibilities listed in the application pack):

• To plan, organise and undertake research, monitoring and reporting on freedom of religion or belief and related human rights issues in the Asia region, through regular fact-finding assignments when and where security conditions allow, briefings with key stakeholders and the development of reliable in-country and external partnerships and collaboration.
• To produce materials, including general and thematic briefings and in-depth reports, documenting and analysing the situation of freedom of religion or belief and human rights in Asia, as well as advocacy recommendations.
• To develop and implement, with oversight from the Asia Team Leader, a practical, effective and innovative advocacy strategy for Asia, taking into account global geopolitics.
• To undertake awareness raising initiatives and advocacy focused on local (when possible), regional and international levels, and in consultation with the Asia Team Leader, work with CSW’s External Affairs Team to inform advocacy initiatives in the UK, EU, US, the United Nations, and with other governments and forums.
• To organise, as appropriate, advocacy visits for delegations in relation to the Asia region.

The Person

A committed Christian with a university degree and a strong commitment to human rights and justice, you will be fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese (Manderin), have excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to take the initiative and to work well under pressure.

Can you tell a great story?

Hope into Action is an inspiring story.  It starts with a couple, Ed and Rach Walker, who decide to use £30,000 of their own money to buy a house for people who were homeless in Peterborough in 2010.  And from this seed, an organisation has grown which 16 years later has 134 houses and has seen over £34 million invested in homes for people who were homeless.

Hope into Action is a story of how faith in God has been put into action and led to resources being shared, new relationships being formed and people’s lives being transformed.

Last year we housed over 500 people who had been homeless. Each of those individuals has a story to share of how Hope into Action has helped them. This is the story we want to share.

The Communications & Engagement Lead is responsible for implementing Hope into Action’s communications and engagement strategy. Working closely with the CEO, they will be responsible for telling the Hope into Action story and driving increased engagement with our vision for every church in the UK to be engaged in ending homelessness.

At least 50% of the role is harvesting stories from around our Network to create engaging content which expresses our vision and mission. We want someone who can be both responsive and strategic. To hear a story from our frontline workers and be able to share it on our website and social media later that day – whilst also working towards the longer term goal of more people in the UK being aware of our work and its impact.

Project Manager (Cascade Wellbeing Project)

Part Time – 21 hours (3 days) per week

Salary £24,000 (£40,000 FTE)

We are seeking a Project Manager to deliver the Cascade Project – a partnership between the St Benedict’s Centre and the Diocese of Rochester. The project aims to develop a programme of initiatives and interventions to support frontline church leaders (lay and ordained, including Headteachers of church schools) with their wellbeing.

The project has been under development for the past year. The Project Manager will lead the project from development to implementation. Funding has been committed by the Church Commissioners for the first 4 years of the implementation period.

The Project Manager will provide overall leadership for the Cascade project, taking responsibility for setting culture and strategy and vision, developing strong and successful relationships with key external partners, delivering an imaginative programme (in person and online) to support the wellbeing of lay and ordained church leaders (including Headteachers of Church Schools) in the Diocese of Rochester and beyond, and ensuring that there are sufficient resources available for Cascade to flourish.

Candidates should have experience of leadership in a church setting with project management experience.  You should have an understanding of wellbeing issues for frontline workers and knowledge of a variety of therapeutic processes and other interventions.  You will have excellent organisational and communications skills.

As a Mass Participation Executive, you will be responsible for the end to end management of our virtual challenges, delivering marketing plans in collaboration with agency support and stewarding supporters to ensure participation. Using project management tools and a pro-active can-do approach, you will ensure smooth event delivery, continuously analyse, and develop the virtual events portfolio. You will work closely with teams across Fundraising, Data, Marketing & Communications to drive income, collaborate and achieve high levels of engagement across the virtual events portfolio. 

We’re looking for someone with previous fundraising experience. A background in areas such as individual giving, community fundraising, or challenge events would bring strong transferable skills to this role. If you have an understanding of effective marketing channels to drive participation in fundraising and effective stewardship techniques, we would love to hear from you.

This post is advertised as an exciting opportunity for an experienced Advice Session Supervisor (ASS) to consolidate their skills and experience or as a development opportunity for an advisor to train to become an ASS within six months of starting in post. About the role

In the role of Young Women and Girls Counsellor, you will provide one to one counselling and group therapy to young women and girl survivors of sexual violence aged 11-17 years old. You will specifically be championing the development of the counselling offer for young women and girls. You will work as part of a growing feminist Rape Crisis service that is developing to meet the needs of women and girls.

We’re looking for a highly organised and self-motivated woman who is passionate about ending violence against women, girls and children. You’ll have a ‘can-do’ approach and demonstrable commitment to nia’s feminist approach to supporting women and girls. We particularly encourage applications from Black, Asian and minoritised women, young women with lived experience and those who have experience of accessing services as a young woman/girl.

You will lead the public campaigning element of the Peat-free Partnership (PfP) - a major cross sector effort - to secure a legal end to peat sales in UK horticulture, hosted and coordinated by Plantlife. Job Title: Senior Practitioner Psychologist (internally this role is known as Senior Skylight Psychologist) or Practitioner Psychologist (internally known as Skylight Psychologist)

The Skylight Psychologist role is offered as a development opportunity for candidates in the first 18 months post qualification. We are committed to ending the homelessness of more people using our direct services, including people with complex needs. To do this, we are seeking a part-time Practitioner Psychologists to join our fantastic team in Crisis Skylight London.

You will form part of the local Leadership team, supporting the implementation of Psychologically Informed Environments (PIEs). You will support the delivery of our work to members by offering training and leading reflective practice for staff and providing direct services to members at times.

You will also be a part of a national psychology team made up of a Lead Clinical Psychologist, a Regional Lead Clinical Psychologist and nine Practitioner Psychologists as well as Trainee Clinical Psychologists on placements.

At Crisis, we understand more and more Practitioner Psychologists are taking on multiple part-time opportunities within the NHS, academia, private practice and the third sector as this has been the case with our own team. This an opportunity for you to work within an agile and progressive charity where you can influence psychologically informed ways of working to end homelessness for good.

You will join an extraordinary team of frontline lead workers with a focus on people facing homelessness who have survived a range of difficult and traumatic experiences.
