About the role

As a Communities Manager, you will play a vital role in building trusted relationships with communities, community organisations and partners to ensure the voices of people affected by cancer are heard, valued and embedded in decision-making.

You will provide leadership and expertise in community engagement, helping to empower and mobilise communities to influence improvements in cancer care and support. Working collaboratively across Macmillan and with external stakeholders, you will develop sustainable community networks, strengthen local capacity and capability, and support communities to become equal partners in co-design and systems change initiatives.

About the roles

Last year we launched our most ambitious strategy yet - Change Happens Now. To deliver on its promise, we have identified a phased and prioritised pipeline of cross-cutting strategic programmes that will move us closer to a future where, by 2050, everyone diagnosed with breast cancer lives - and is supported to live well.

We’re now looking for 2 Strategic Programme Leads to help deliver our strategy. You’ll work in our Strategy, Planning & Innovation (SPI) team, which is responsible for strategic change programmes, planning, innovation and involvement.

Both posts share the same job description and grade and will work flexibly across SPI’s full portfolio. However, each role has a distinct focus area and differs in contract type:

• Role 1 - Health Systems and Improvement – Permanent: This role focus is in health systems and improvement, which will include leading place-based programmes, stewarding UK-wide health-improvement standards, and building the external relationships needed to deliver system-level change.
• Role 2 - Engagement at Scale – 2 year fixed term. This role focus is in ‘engagement at scale’ programmes, in its first year, it will include programme leadership of our universal offer, an organisation-wide programme aimed at delivering an accessible support offer for everyone affected by breast cancer. It will also include providing strategic partnership for other large-scale programmes, such as healthcare professional engagement initiatives and behaviour change.

While each role has a primary focus area, we expect both post-holders to be flexible and adaptable. Priorities change, and you'll need to be equally comfortable working across specialisms, seeing the focus areas as a starting point which will evolve with organisational priorities.

About you

Whilst both roles are the same, given the specialisms, for role 1, we're particularly interested in candidates with experience of external connectivity across the UK health system landscape and a working knowledge of NHS structures, integrated care systems, clinical pathways and health inequalities. For role 2, we're particularly interested in candidates with experience of scaled engagement work, such as leading public engagement, support or community programmes.

For both roles, you’ll be able to get into the detail when it matters, including the design and sequencing of the programme itself. On some programmes you'll be the strategic lead, owning the work from start to finish and being the trusted strategic advisor to expert leaders. On others you'll partner an expert team, bringing the wider organisation in behind their delivery and working through the barriers that hold progress back.

You'll be confident leading, designing and running pilots and prototypes, with clear measures of success and an evidence-led approach to learning and improvement, ensuring you keep lived experience of breast cancer at the heart of your work. RNID Near You Co-ordinator Powys

As Near You Coordinator Powys for our Community Services Team, you will focus and lead on co-ordinating our volunteer delivered RNID Near You service in Powys. This service operates across the county of Powys, in partnership with Powys Teaching Health Board to ensure that deaf people and those with hearing loss or tinnitus receive the support and information needed to lead quality lives.

You will focus and lead on developing and delivering the community service across your designated area through drop-in sessions offering: 

· Practical hearing aid support 

· Information on hearing loss and tinnitus 

· Hearing checks 

You will be responsible for 

· Co-ordinating up to 15 drop-in sessions and be able to recruit, train and manage a team of up to 30 volunteers to deliver the service. You will have responsibility for the set up and running of these sessions and have good local knowledge of the chosen area to seek new opportunities for delivery of the RNID Near-You services. 

· Co-ordinating the promotion of the service and raise awareness of the service e.g., through giving presentations to groups and organisations. 

· Developing the service to utilise RNID online resources and digital tools and support volunteers to use these tools. 

· Liaising with other local service providers to respond to the needs of deaf people and those with hearing loss or tinnitus; and develop links with other organisations and agencies working with them.   

You will be a motivated person with a keen interest in supporting people with their hearing loss. While you will be home based, there will be regular travel to all venues where we will provide drop-in sessions in community settings. 

You want to make a difference in people’s lives and love to interact with various audiences, including volunteers, health & care professionals and service users. You have experience managing events, your own workload and are able to work evenings/ weekends if required. 

You are able to physically assist clients with hearing aids sensitively, giving clear guidance and taking into account individual wishes and health needs. You are ready to work for a home-working organisation and have good IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word. 

No specific Qualifications are required for this role.

Join the Anglican Communion Office to provide professional leadership, oversight and delivery of safeguarding practice across the Anglican Consultative Council (ACC) and the Anglican Alliance, and to support the Anglican Communion Safe Church Commission. Working within a trauma-informed and survivor-centred framework, the Safeguarding Manager will ensure that survivors’ experiences meaningfully inform safeguarding governance, strategy and practice, including when their voices are expressed in challenging or uncomfortable ways. The postholder will bring significant experience of delivering safeguarding work internationally, including training, capacity development or policy implementation across more than one country. They will be able to adapt safeguarding practice to different cultural, legal and ecclesial contexts. This is not an administrative or secretariat-based role. Safeguarding leadership, governance and reporting

Support for the Anglican Communion Safe Church Commission

Working alongside the Safe Church Commission consultant, the Safeguarding Manager will:

• Research and draft safeguarding resources, drawing on the expertise of Commission members, external evidence and an understanding of different international contexts.
• Coordinate and attend Commission working groups, distilling discussions and using them to revise resources and develop capacity development programmes.
• Maintain regular contact with provincial representatives and other Anglican Communion partners, learning from their experience, understanding emerging issues and ensuring that they are included in the Communion’s safeguarding ministry.
• Develop and deliver culturally appropriate and linguistically diverse capacity development events and training. 
• Attend meetings on behalf of the Commission with safeguarding organisations and partners involved in capacity development events.
• Liaise with contacts in the UK and across the Anglican Communion regarding funding for the Safe Church Commission.

Help shape the next generation of Anglican advocates through a unique global programme of training, mentoring and action. Join the Anglican Communion Office to establish the Young Adult Anglican Advocacy Programme a hybrid training and mentoring scheme. The initiative will give selected young adults access to a year-long programme of online training modules, mentoring opportunities and in-person attendance at UN events, to equip them to advocate for social and political change in their own context and in line with their faith. The focus of this three-year role is to create a thriving alumni network who can work for change worldwide.

Annually:

• Work with the Anglican Communion Advocacy team and other stakeholders, including the Public Engagement Team, to invite applications to the programme.
• Shortlist candidates and arrange interviews. Organise online training modules.
• Organise travel, accommodation and participation in UN events.

About the Role

We're looking for a compassionate and organised Family Support Coordinator to help deliver practical, emotional and financial support to families affected by Dravet Syndrome.

Working closely with the Head of Family Services, you'll be a key point of contact for families, supporting enquiries, coordinating grants, managing online communities, helping organise family events, and ensuring families can access the information and support they need.

This is a varied and rewarding role combining family support, community engagement, event coordination and administration. 

Key Responsibilities

Family Support

• Manage a caseload of families, providing practical and emotional support.
• Respond to enquiries and signpost families to appropriate services.
• Support newly diagnosed families, bereaved families, and those navigating transition to adulthood.
• Maintain accurate records using the charity's CRM system.

Grants & Community Support

• Coordinate family grant applications and payments.
• Moderate and support the charity's private Facebook community.
• Collect feedback and help improve family services.
• Escalate safeguarding concerns in line with policy.

Events & Engagement

• Support the delivery of the Annual Family Weekend Away and other family events.
• Assist with webinars, support programmes and educational activities.
• Build positive relationships with families and volunteers.
• Attend key family-facing events across the year. 

Administration

• Support reporting, record management and service administration.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, GDPR and organisational policies.
• Attend team meetings, training and charity events. 

About You

Essential

• Experience supporting children, adults and families.
• Experience supporting people with complex medical, learning or additional needs.
• Strong communication, organisational and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to provide empathetic, person-centred support.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and CRM/database systems.
• Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and GDPR.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends.

Desirable

• Background in Health & Social Care, Mental Health, Community Development, Counselling or Education.
• Experience organising events or community activities.
• Knowledge of Dravet Syndrome or other neurological conditions.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

About Mentoring Works

ELBA’s Mentoring Works programme has been running since 1996 and has supported thousands of young people across London and beyond. Mentoring Works connects Year 10 and Sixth Form/college students to volunteer business mentors working in the City and Canary Wharf. Mentors and mentees connect regularly for sessions designed to develop the knowledge, skills and qualities needed for future careers. Sessions explore the Skills Builder framework and key employability competencies but can also be tailored to individual needs. Mentoring Works provides resources, guides mentees in their own decisions and discoveries and promotes networks, opportunities and social mobility.

Purpose of the job

To be responsible for supporting the key aims and deliverables of Mentoring Works. The Mentoring Works Project Manager will need to develop and manage strong relationships with schools and colleges; recruit students and engage and train business volunteers as mentors; design resources; deliver sessions; monitor relationships; support with safeguarding and produce robust impact evaluations for the programme. You will be required to support other members of the Mentoring Works team and your colleagues as and when required. The post will be managed by the Head of Programmes - Education, with further support and training from the Mentoring Works team. The post holder will have regular one-to-one support for input and guidance to achieve agreed success indicators and will be subject to annual performance appraisals with mid-year reviews.

Job Description

• Manage relationships with schools, colleges and employers, with particular responsibility for ELBA’s partners 
• To promote safety and wellbeing of students at all times, to follow ELBA’s safeguarding policies and have full regard to the policies of the partners engaged in the programme.
• Oversee individual employee volunteer (mentor) and student (mentee) relationships to ensure programme objectives are being met. 
• Plan and deliver employee volunteer and student recruitment sessions.
• Deliver training sessions for employee volunteers.
• Match employee volunteers with students in line with targets. 
• Lead on development and delivery of group activities to support the Mentoring Works programme and feedback sessions with students.
• Build effective working relationships with ELBA corporate partners engaged with Mentoring Works to promote and enable delivery of projects/activities.
• Where required, support the Head of Programmes - Education with external communications, company and funder reports detailing the progress, impact and evaluation of Mentoring Works delivery. 
• Develop programme material and share best practice within ELBA and Mentoring Works.
• Develop internal systems and work on streamlining processes.

The Community Outreach Administrator provides vital administration and logistical support to ensure the smooth planning, co-ordination, and delivery of Community Outreach activities. This role is central to maintaining efficient operations of the Appealer programme; ensuring that all appeals, resources, logistics, and communications run seamlessly.
