What you will be doing:

• Working with the H&C Finance Business Partner and the Treasury & Finance team to prepare the monthly financial accounts for the NHS VR programme and ensure that the appropriate invoice is raised.

* To work with colleagues engaged in the NHS VR programme to prepare a forecast of expenditure to the end of the current financial year

• To prepare the monthly financial report for the NHS&C VR programme to be presented to the NHS team
• To work with the Assistant Director of Finance to make sure that the VAT treatment for the services included in the NHS VR programme is appropriate and correctly accounted for
• To support the Fundraising team in the preparation of the Budget and Financial Plan for 2024-26
• To prepare the monthly financial report for the charity's fundraising activities
• To work within the Fundraising team reviewing investment in income streams and providing support as necessary with regard to decision making and analysis
• To assist in the preparation of funding applications, providing information and advice
• Key point of contact for the fundraising team for all financial matters
• To work with colleagues across the charity to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the preparation of the financial reports set out above

What you need to know:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACMA, ACCA)
• A minimum of three years' experience of having led and managed the preparation of complex financial management accounts.
• A high level of Excel experience including the use of key functions to automate part of the process

Experience of working with non-financial colleagues in the gathering of relevant information, the development of budgets and forecasts and the reporting and interpretation of actual performance.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a disease of the brain and spinal cord which affects different people in different ways. There are currently 2.9 million people in the world living with MS and currently there is no cure. But, Overcoming MS provides hope through lifestyle changes which are backed by scientific research and which enables sufferers to lead a full and healthy life with MS.

Reporting to the CEO and managing a small team of two, we are looking for support to create long-term and sustainable income streams that allow us to plan for strategic growth. This is likely to involve building a pipeline of corporate partners, major donors, and legacy pledgers to grow income over the medium to longer term as well as managing and developing relationships with prospective high value donors.

The appointed candidate is likely to bring demonstrable experience of developing and implementing fundraising strategies, regularly reviewing them and monitoring against KPIs. You are likely to be a strategic and creative thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit in order to be able to identify and harness new opportunities and trends to drive income growth. London's Air Ambulance treats patients who experience critical injury in the capital and support them and their families on a road to recovery. • Financial reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the charity, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Own the full life cycle of reports from build to delivery.
• Budgeting and forecasting: Assist the Head of Financial Performance & Analysis in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, collaborating with department heads to gather necessary information and oversee the consolidation and review of departmental budgets into a cohesive organisational budget.
• Financial analysis: Monitor actual performance against projections and conduct analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities.
• Systems accounting: Maintain and improve the charity's accounting systems and processes, ensuring data integrity and implementing new features or upgrades as required.
• CRM management: Work closely with the Head of Financial Accounting and Head of Data to ensure financial reporting requirements are adequately considered when managing the CRM.
• Advanced data analysis: Utilise tools such as PowerBl, Power Query, and advanced Excel functions to build reports, conduct in-depth financial analysis and provide actionable insights to support decision-making.

Project Finance Officer | London - Hybrid | Permanent | £46,000 - £48-000 + Benefits

For a global NGO, we're recruiting a Project Finance Officer. Reporting to the Project Finance Manager, this role will run efficient programme financial accounting, financial management and financial reporting processes for donor funded programmes and grants. This role will support the full life cycle of grants, from donor proposal to final reporting and will work closely with Finance and Programme teams as well as in-country staff, partner agencies and external Donors.

What you'll be doing:

• Financial planning, and financial management for grant funded programmes
• Monitoring budgets, cash-flow, and donor compliance reporting
• Maintaining the grant tracker, cost recovery process and cash balance management
• Preparing monthly performance dashboard reports and quarterly cash balance reports for grant programmes
• Working with in-country teams to ensure effective grants management and compliance i.e., ensuring all grants are recorded and monitored, and that grant codes are correctly set up
• Reviewing proposal budgets, liaising with the Programmes team, ensuring compliance with donor requirements
• Timely submission of cash requests for Donor contracts and sub-grant agreements
• Preparing donor sub-grant agreements with field units, and partners
• Supporting the preparation and follow-up of internal and external grant audits
• Training and capacity building sessions for in-country teams

What you'll offer:

• Experience working with EC, ECHO, FCDO, or equivalent with understanding of compliance restricted funding and grants rules and regulations
• Strong experience of financial accounting, financial reporting, and financial management
• Strong experience of budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management
• Experience working for international NGOs or donor agencies including field-level implementation
• A proactive, inquisitive mindset and the ability to work autonomously
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, especially when partnering with non-finance teams and in-country programmes staff.
