This includes the funding of specialist medical equipment to ensure our brilliant surgeons and clinical staff have the most up to date and cutting edge technology available and funding hi-tech distraction equipment designed and proven to reduce pain and anxiety in our patients. We also fund a range of programmes and special projects such as our ward musicians, our on-site magician and the play specialists we have on every ward.

About this role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Grants & Impact Team, overseeing grant giving and grant management processes within Alder Hey Children’s Charity.

A senior member of the Grants Team, the post holder will manage Alder Hey Children’s Charity’s grant awarding process, providing approximately £5m of grant awards to the Alder Hey NHS Foundation Trust (the ‘Trust’) per year, with ambitions for significant growth.

The Grants Manager will help develop and implement multi-year strategies to support the identification of fundraising needs and grant requirements. In doing so, the post holder will work closely with both Trust colleagues and our charity fundraising and marketing teams.

The post holder will report to the Director of Grants & Impact (DoG&I) and line manage the Senior Grants Officer and Grants Officer.

Main Duties/Tasks:

Strategic Planning, Financial Management & Reporting

• Work collaboratively with the DoG&I to develop and implement strategic, multi-year plans and budgets.
• Monitor progress against strategic plans, budgets, Key Performance Indicators and produce reports for key meetings such as the Charitable Spending Committee.
• Work with the Trust to identify upcoming funding requirements. Support the development of funding priorities, proposals and projects in line with the strategic direction of the Trust and Charity.  
  
• Support the development of internal and external partnerships in line with our strategic plans and priorities.

Grant Applications & Awards

• Develop and oversee the grants application process, ensuring it aligns with the charitable spending strategy and is accessible to all applicants across the Trust. 
• Manage the grants awards process, ensuring that applications are reviewed and approved in line in a timely manner within the agreed authority levels.
• Support grant applicants through the process, linking them with the relevant fundraising team and other colleagues where appropriate.
• Provide successful applicants with award letters and grant terms and conditions, tailored as required, with the support of the Grants Senior Officer and Officer.
• Work with the Finance Team to collate financial information on grant awards for reporting to the Charitable Spending Committee and funders. 

Communication & Relationships

• Lead on the promotion of opportunities available to apply for Charitable Funding.
• Develop key relationships throughout the Trust that support the grant award and reporting process.
• Develop relationships with the Youth Forum, enabling youth voice in grant making.
• Work closely with the Impact & Insights Manager to ensure that grants awarded are likely to have impact and that this is a central part of the Charity’s grant making.
• Work proactively with the Fundraising and Marketing Teams to ensure that sufficient information is provided in relation to planned and approved grants and appeals.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the Finance Team, working together to ensure financial accuracy and a smooth process of grants management.
• Help promote and maintain a positive culture within the Grants & Impact team.
• Line management of the Grants Senior Officer and Grants Officer.

Innovation & Development

• Work collaboratively with the Digital & Database Manager and Impact & Insights Manager to develop the CRM system for tracking grant awards and reporting data.
• Be a specialist in grant awarding and maintain strong knowledge of relevant legislation and good practice.
  

Other Duties

• Be an outstanding advocate for Alder Hey Children’s Charity in line with the core values of the organisation.
• Be an active and supportive member of the Alder Hey Children’s Charity team, contributing to the team’s development and working collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers.
• Attend and support on events run by the fundraising teams where required.

Additional Information

In April 2025, the charity adopted a four-day working week policy. Staff previously working 37.5 hours now work 30 hours across four days, maintaining full pay while supporting a better work-life balance.

About the role

To manage all aspects of the shop, including recruiting and leading the volunteer team in order to maximise the income generated for Concern’s work.

About you

CONDITIONS OF APPOINTMENT

It is the nature of this post that weekend working (Saturday) and occasional additional seasonal hours are part of the normal working week. Working hours will also involve some evening work to meet the needs of the post. Due to the nature of this role, flexibility is required.

What could my day look like?

The Education Worker role is a frontline, fast-paced and rewarding role where no two weeks will look the same. A typical day will have different activities, possibly spread between the IntoUniversity centre, partner schools and the offices of a corporate partner.

We are looking for new team members to join our service supporting Carers across Havering to improve their health and wellbeing, and access wider support that meets their needs.

This is a great opportunity to support local communities, working with Adult Carers and Young Adult Carers and helping them to make informed choices, build confidence, sustain their independence, and access support that meets their individual needs. You will carry out assessments to understand people’s individual circumstances and level of need, working together to co-produce support plans. This will involve meeting Carers in community settings and conducting home visits. The team also facilities coffee mornings and activities offering Carers opportunities for peer support and to take a break from caring.

You’ll build on your local knowledge to signpost and facilitate access for Carers to support services, including financial and benefit advice, housing, health and safety home systems, and leisure and social activities. You will support the development of escalation plans so that Carers are prepared for unforeseen circumstances that would impact negatively on ability to care.

We have a part-time role available (22.5 hours), and applicants should have relevant personal or professional experience of working with Carers and/or vulnerable adults in a relevant sector. Purpose of the Role

An opportunity has arisen for an energetic and skilled individual to lead the Mind in Bexley Carers Service.  The Carers Service supports those looking after, or affected by, an adult relative or friend’s mental health, alcohol, or substance use challenges.

The postholder will provide both strategic and operational leadership, ensuring the effective delivery of the service in collaboration with key partners, including the London Borough of Bexley, Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, and other relevant stakeholders.

The role is responsible for ensuring that carers receive high-quality, person-centred support, enabling them to lead fulfilling and valued lives, actively participate in their communities, and develop their abilities to their fullest potential.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Service Delivery and Development

· Develop, coordinate, and maintain a flexible, responsive, and high-quality service to support carers.

· Carry a client caseload.

Partnership Working and Collaboration

· Advocate for the needs of carers, ensuring their voices are reflected in care planning processes across mental health and social care services.

· Promote the importance of carer involvement, in line with The Carers Trust “Triangle of Care” best practice guidance.

Quality and Performance Management

· Take overall accountability for the quality, performance, and continuous improvement of the service.

· Ensure monitoring data and information is collected and submitted on time.

· Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory, contractual, and organisational requirements.

· Monitor and evaluate service outcomes to ensure effectiveness and identify areas for development.

At the Motability Foundation, we fund, support, research and innovate so that all disabled people can make the journeys they choose.

We’re building a Transport Solutions Team that works flexibly across all the tools in our delivery kit – from grants and innovation pilots to research, partnerships, and commercial interventions. Our growing portfolio includes flagship projects tackling challenges such as inclusive EV charging infrastructure, complex community transport needs, and large-scale research and systems change activity through the National Centre for Accessible Transport (NCAT).

We are now recruiting a Transport Solutions Manager to play a leading part in the management of NCAT, which will make up around half of the role, while also contributing to the design and delivery of other high-impact transport solutions activity across the Foundation’s portfolio. This is a pivotal role that combines programme leadership, stakeholder management, governance, and delivery, and is designed to work flexibly across our matrix structure.

The successful candidate will act as a key point of coordination for NCAT, supporting its effective mobilisation, delivery, governance and partner relationships, while also working across other Transport Solutions priorities in line with the expectations of broader internal Transport Solutions Manager roles.

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, purpose-led team driving change in the transport system for disabled people, and to work on some of the most complex and impactful projects in the sector.

What you will be doing:

• Act as a key point of coordination for NCAT within the Foundation, bringing together cross-functional input across areas such as delivery, innovation, governance, operations, insight and evaluation.
• Lead the ongoing management activity for NCAT, including the development and implementation of systems, processes and governance structures to enable effective delivery.
• Coordinate programme reporting for NCAT, including the preparation of regular updates for senior leadership and governance committees, ensuring accuracy, insight and alignment with organisational goals.
• Monitor progress against plans, budgets and timelines, identifying and resolving risks such as under or overspend, ineligible costs or delivery delays.
• Escalate risks and issues proactively, supporting the development of mitigation strategies to manage impact and maintain programme integrity.
• Support governance structures, including advisory boards or steering groups, ensuring they are effectively convened, briefed and engaged in programme direction.
• Build and maintain strong funder and delivery partner relationships, acting as a key link between the Foundation and external partners to support trust, alignment and shared learning.
• Ensure monitoring, evaluation and learning approaches are embedded, working with internal and external stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and strategic alignment.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and insight generation, supporting the dissemination of findings, progress and outcomes from NCAT and related work to maximise external impact.
• Lead and/or contribute to other projects, programmes or funding activity across the Transport Solutions portfolio, working flexibly in line with team priorities and the expectations of other internal Transport Solutions Manager roles.

Your experience:

Must haves:

• Significant experience in programme or project management roles, ideally within complex or multi-stakeholder environments and as a funder.
• Strong understanding of programme delivery, governance and reporting, with the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and stakeholders effectively.
• Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills, with the ability to maintain accurate information for monitoring, reporting and decision-making.
• Financial literacy, with experience in analysing budgets, monitoring spend and managing financial risks.
• Experience managing contracts, legal agreements or delivery arrangements with external partners, suppliers or grantees.
• Strong interpersonal and listening skills, with a relationship-first approach that builds trust and enables collaboration across internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile, matrix-working environment, adapting to shifting priorities and timelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce high-quality reports, papers and presentations for senior audiences.

This is a newly created and high-profile leadership role, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer.

As Head of Operations, you will play a central role in helping the BDA deliver its strategic priorities by improving organisational performance, embedding continuous improvement and ensuring we have the systems, processes and insights needed to succeed.

You will lead organisation-wide initiatives, support strategic planning and performance reporting, drive digital and AI adoption, and work collaboratively across teams to improve how we operate and deliver for our members.

About the role

Motability Foundation is a national charity which believes that no disabled person should be disadvantaged due to poor access to transportation. We help disabled people enjoy the freedom and independence to work, to learn, to access services, and to see family and friends.

We provide a range of grants to help people with different kinds of disabilities, and we oversee the Motability Scheme, delivered by the private company Motability Operations. The Scheme has more than 900,000 disabled customers who use the enhanced mobility benefits they receive from the Government to lease a car, scooter or powered wheelchair.

The Motability Scheme offers a wide range of vehicles, including standard cars, Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs), with numerous accessibility adaptations to support independent driving and travel.

There are two key elements to this role:

• To analyse and report on Scheme performance as delivered by Motability Operations.

• To research external factors relevant to the operation of the Scheme including Government policy and developments within the automotive sector.

What you’ll be doing

Scheme Oversight

• Support oversight activities including the review of Motability Operations’ KPI reports and information, analyse performance and report against Scheme operational objectives.

• Produce input to a monthly commentary on Scheme Performance to be presented to the Board of Governors.

• Undertake operational reviews on selected areas of Scheme activity.

• Liaise with Motability Operations to raise areas for review within the Scheme, critically review the reports provided, and escalate to the Board of Governors.

• Participate in policy and process reviews.

• Seek to better understand the delivery of the Motability Scheme.

• Review and document ways of working and process changes in Scheme Oversight.

Research

• Monitor Government policy and legislation relating to the automotive sector including transition to Electric Vehicles in 2035; emissions legislation, including the Zero Emissions Vehicle Mandate; introduction of Clean Air / Congestion Zones; taxation on motoring including potential Road Pricing.

• Keep up to date with developments within the automotive sector, particularly vehicle conversion and adaptations for disabled customers, during a period of significant change including the transition to electric vehicles and the restructuring of motor retail towards manufacturer direct sales and online.

• Prepare research summaries and conclusions for Directors and Governors.

• Consider policy implications for the Scheme following research projects.

What you’ll be doing:

• Overseeing the day-to-day compliance, management and maintenance of our park, playgrounds, sports facilities, and Grade II listed buildings.
• Leading a small, multi-skilled Grounds and Facilities team — recruiting them, developing them, and building a culture they're proud to be part of.
• Overseeing contractors and capital works, from routine repairs to major building projects. 
• Sitting on the Senior Management Team to shape the charity's strategic plans.
• Looking after a grounds and facilities budget of c.£400K.
• Acting as one of four Designated Safeguarding Leads, because looking after this site 
means looking after the children in it.

Then join our experienced team supporting children and young people who have caring responsibilities for someone in their family due to disability, long-term illness, mental health, or drug or alcohol misuse. You’ll help deliver our Young Carers service across Southwark, so a car driver is preferred.

In this role, you will manage an existing caseload and new referrals, meeting with families and Young Carers to complete statutory assessments and create action plans. You‘ll provide support for Young Carers to reduce the impact of their caring role and improve their resilience, educational chances and wellbeing, through signposting to local services, in-school support, one-to-one sessions, and workshops.

There will be opportunities to work closely with schools, Children’s Services and other agencies to raise awareness, identify hidden Young Carers, and ensure Young Carer needs are understood and acted on.

You will need to be confident, approachable and self-motivated, with the ability to quickly establish rapport with children and young people. Applicants should have relevant experience of working or volunteering in education, health or social care, or be looking to start a career working with children or young people.

This is a full-time role (including occasional early evenings and Saturdays).
