This role provides proactive administrative support to the Bishop of Ripon. The Bishop's PA represents the Bishop's Office and is often the first point of contact.

The postholder will manage the Bishop's Office and ensure that work for the Bishop of Ripon is completed to a high standard. Much of the work is highly confidential, so the postholder must be able to deal with this discreetly and sensitively. The PA is a vital part of the local Ripon Area team but must be able to work independently and use initiative as necessary. Commitment to supporting the Bishop's ministry is essential, and a good understanding of the Christian Faith and Anglican worship is helpful.

Daily tasks will include prioritising mail and messages, organising the Bishop's diary, drafting replies and/or briefing papers as appropriate, producing communication and paperwork around the Bishop's appointments (including church visits and clergy meetings) promptly, attending and arranging events and meetings and in general ensuring that the Bishop is properly resourced and supported in his/her work. As well as overseeing the Ripon Episcopal Area, the Bishop has some diocesan responsibilities, which necessitate travel around the Diocese, and national responsibilities which include travel to London and elsewhere in the country. The planning of the Bishop's diary will reflect the travel involved.

The PA will have key working relationships with other senior staff in the Diocese and particularly those in the Ripon Area. The PA will work closely with the Archdeacon of Richmond and Craven and their PA. The postholder will also be in frequent contact with the Area and Assistant Area Deans and other Area Officers. As the Bishop is often out of the office, the post-holder should be a self-starter and capable of using their initiative with regard to planning and managing their workload.

There may be the possibility of some home-working - details to be discussed with the post holder.

Principal Duties

• Manage the Bishop's diary, appointments, travel and event logistics
• Plan the annual meeting cycle for various committees and individuals
• Manage the approval system for Lay Eucharistic Ministers, including the renewals every five years.
• Anticipate and act proactively on information that comes into the office (via email, phone or letter) particularly where this relates to diary and deadline matters.
• Ensure that appropriate matters are brought to the attention of the Bishop
• Arrange Confirmations, Licensings and other church services and handle related administration.
• Manage annual review appointments (MDRs) for clergy, ensuring that the necessary paperwork is issued and received within appropriate timeframes.
• Manage the 'New in Post' system alongside the Archdeacon's PA
• Administer the clergy appointments process within the Ripon Area, working closely with the Archdeacon, the Archdeacon's PA, Patrons and parish representatives. Ensure that all legal requirements are met.
• Managing meetings for PTO applications.
• Prepare materials for meetings; to occasionally attend and take minutes.
• Oversee the Bishop's expenses and local budget, ensuring that accurate records are kept and returned to the Bishop of Leeds Financial Officer monthly.
• Organise and maintain general and confidential filing systems, including clergy files.
• Manage the Bishop's Office, including ordering stationery, dealing with phone systems, etc

Other duties

• Represent the Bishop's Office with professionalism, discretion and pastoral sensitivity.
• Welcome visitors to the Bishop's Office, ensuring that they are dealt with in a polite and courteous manner.
• Assist in providing refreshments when necessary
• Attend meetings and other events (outside the office) as agreed with the Bishop
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity at all times, ensuring that all confidential material is properly managed and stored.
• Undertake any training as required and be willing to understand GDPR and Safeguarding practices.
• To support the Bishop in developing a social media presence

The Youth Employability Service

CXK delivers the Youth Employability Service (YES) across East Sussex, commissioned by East Sussex County Council. We offer information, advice, support and guidance to young people in academic years 12 and 13 who are not in education, employment or training (NEET), helping them to explore their options, plan and then take their next steps. We also work with schools supporting young people in year 11 who are at risk of becoming NEET and those who have been Electively Home Educated. Liaising with a range of other services, YES is focussed on supporting young people to achieve their potential.

The Team

The YES team support young people from across the county, seeing them at CXK bases, partner venues or in community settings. The team assess and action plan with young people referred to the service, supporting them to understand their options and take steps toward achieving their goals around education, training and /or employment. Working with a wide range of young people, the team approach is focused, creative and persistent, building on young peoples’ confidence and motivation alongside their skills and personal growth.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Skills and Employability Adviser.

You will support a caseload of young people aged 16 to 18 who are not in education, employment, or training (NEET), or at risk of becoming NEET with part of your caseload being Electively Home Educated Year 11 young people who may be at risk of becoming NEET. You will guide them through re-engagement with suitable post-16 provisions and provide targeted intervention to those who have withdrawn from or not started their Post 16 provisions.

Working across the West of the county, including Wealden, with schools and FE Colleges you will play a key role in ensuring that young people receive the tailored guidance and support they need to progress confidently into further education, training, or employment. You will build positive working relationships through co-located working, and accurate input into relevant databases.

This role also supports our Electively Home Educated Year 11’s with transition support to their Post 16 pathway.

You will maintain regular contact with the young people you support, building trust and ensuring that casework is delivered with care and consistency. Your role will involve assessing needs, action planning, reviewing progress, and adapting support as required. You'll also act as a champion for relevant opportunities and resources—ensuring young people, parents/carers, providers, and wider stakeholders are aware of what’s available and how it can help.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience working with NEET, Risk of NEET young people, who understands the post-16 education and training landscape and the importance of person-centred support. Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for a Supporter Care Officer to join our Fundraising Strategy & Operations Team based in London on a 12-month fixed term basis.

About us

We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment. We want to end youth homelessness by 2037.

About the role

The Fundraising Strategy and Operations team delivers high quality operations support to the wider Fundraising Directorate including Strategic Liaison with Service teams, Compliance, Supporter Journeys and Communications, and Supporter Care.

The role sits within our friendly and dedicated Supporter Care team. In addition to providing operations support to the Fundraising Directorate, the team provides a high standard of customer service to Centrepoint supporters and members of the public.

The role works alongside two other Officers and the team Manager to help steward and grow our compassionate supporter base, securing Centrepoint’s long term future, and enabling us to reach our strategic goals through helping to maximise fundraised income and increase donor loyalty.

The role involves working independently, collaborating with colleagues and third-party suppliers, and using a variety of technical systems to fulfil a range of supporter-related responsibilities.

These include, but are not limited to, liaising with existing and prospective supporters, managing fundraising complaints, processing donations, processing supporter data; and ensuring all tasks are carried out in compliance with GDPR, Data Protection, and other regulatory requirements.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a bereavement counsellor in the award-winning Suicide Bereavement Service, delivered by Mind in Bexley together with partners South East London Mind and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. The service offers a community resource with open access to adults and young people bereaved by suicide across South East London (Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark). The integrated team provides both one-to-one and group support, with the aim of reducing the risk of further deaths by suicide in this vulnerable group.

We are seeking an experienced bereavement counsellor who can work compassionately to deliver trauma-informed therapeutic support to people aged 13 and over bereaved by suicide. You will have evidence of post qualifying counselling experience, including of multidisciplinary working. You will be non-judgemental, caring, and resilient, with a good understanding of the issues presented by bereavement through suicide.

The ability to adapt your approach to a wide variety of people, being inclusive and sensitive to service users’ cultural and religious backgrounds, is essential. You will need to be able to work with sensitivity, respect other team members, and be open to learning. The role is demanding, so you will need to be emotionally intelligent and able to work within clear boundaries whilst being a reflective practitioner.

The team’s office is at the Bethlem Royal Hospital in West Wickham, Bromley. The successful candidate must be able to attend fortnightly team meetings at the office and be available to provide in-person counselling at least one day per week (either at the Bethlem Hospital or in the Lewisham/New Cross area).

This is a part time role, working days must include Thursdays, with the other days being flexible from Monday-Friday.
We are particularly interested in hearing from people able to work Mondays, Fridays or evenings to meet the needs of the serice.

The role may involve occasional evening and weekend working. You will be willing to work therapeutically face-to-face, by video call and by phone call, in response to client needs.

You will join a close, supportive team who share a passion for helping people cope with the impact of traumatic bereavement. You will have ownership over your work, while being well supported through regular supervision and reflective practice. For the right candidate, this unique role will be deeply rewarding.

You will build strong working relationships with Charity colleagues, donors (existing and potential), volunteers and Trust staff. The role supports the fundraising teams, assists with the hospital and online shop, and plays a key part in coordinating and administering the Charity’s volunteering function. You will also provide vital People (HR) administration and process support.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Fundraising & Office

• Undertake day-to-day administrative tasks as directed by the Operations & People Manager and Team Leader, including preparing letters, reports and memos to a high professional standard.

• Handle sensitive information appropriately, maintaining confidentiality at all times.

• Deal with all incoming telephone enquiries in a professional and helpful manner, directing calls correctly and taking accurate messages.

• Support the efficient running of the public Charity office by welcoming donors and visitors in a friendly and professional way.

• Provide excellent customer care and donor stewardship in every interaction.

• Manage incoming mail, ensuring it is opened, distributed and responded to promptly.

• Process donations in line with established receipting procedures.

• Adhere to audit procedures and liaise with the Charity’s auditors.

• Maintain filing systems, ensuring safe storage and regular archiving of records.

• Support the senior management team, including organising meetings and room bookings.

• Undertake banking procedures, ensuring donations are accurately recorded and banked.

Hospital & Online Shop

• Process online shop orders in a timely manner.

• Run regular online sales reports for the Operations Manager.

• Support the management of the hospital and online shop, ensuring stock levels are maintained and products are well presented.

• Provide customer service in the hospital Atrium shop and support front desk cover as required.

• Cash up the till, ensuring all sales are accurately recorded and passed for banking.

Database Support

• Process donations on the CRM database, liaising with fundraising teams to ensure accuracy, including online platforms.

• Produce analytical reports from the fundraising database for audit purposes.

People / HR Support

Provide People/HR administrative support in the following areas:

• Recruitment, including coordinating recruitment and induction of new starters.

• Volunteer coordination, ensuring a robust process from expression of interest through to induction.

• Ensuring all staff have DBS checks in line with Trust requirements.

• Administration of staff annual leave and absence reporting.

• Creating staff correspondence, including pay award, furlough and other required communications.

Other Duties

• Act as an outstanding advocate for Alder Hey Children’s Charity, in line with organisational values.

• Be an active and supportive team member, contributing to team development and collaborative working.

• Attend and support fundraising events where required.

• Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager.

St. Hilda’s East (SHE) is a local charity which aims to combat the challenges arising from deprivation and social exclusion through the delivery of a wide range of engaging activities which promote wellbeing and social connections. Job Purpose:

Working from St. Hilda’s East Community Centre in Shoreditch, the Facilities Assistant will support the Head of Operations, in the day-to-day running and improvement of SHE’s buildings and spaces – ensuring they are tidy, safe, clean, fit for purpose and welcoming. This will involve improving and implementing best practice procedures primarily regarding facilities and all elements of health and safety across both our sites - ensuring that we comply with regulatory standards.
