ROLE OVERVIEW

The Volunteering Executive is responsible for recruiting, managing, and coordinating RLSS UK volunteers. This role will require the candidate to interact with a wide variety of volunteers throughout the UK and Ireland, promoting volunteering opportunities and recruiting people to fulfil those roles; in particular but not limited to, supporting RLSS UK presence and voluntary lifeguarding at external events, and also the delivery of our schools education strategy and the Water Smart Schools programme.

The Volunteering Executive will work closely with other colleagues who support RLSS UK’s volunteer-led community presence in the Volunteer and Events Team, as well as the Education Manager, and the Membership Team.

As well as recruiting and organising individuals and teams of volunteers, the role will also play a key part in ensuring RLSS UK volunteers feel that their contribution and commitment is appreciated and properly recognised and it is recorded against their individual records on the RLSS UK system.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILTIES

Volunteering

• To manage the recruitment, retention, and day-to-day recognition of RLSS UK Volunteers
• To maintain a robust and safe record of RLSS UK volunteers and their voluntary roles
• Working with the various directorates to identify and coordinate volunteering opportunities for RLSS UK volunteers
• To collate and manage William Henry hours in partnership with the Events Executive to recognise the contribution of individual RLSS UK volunteers through our Honours system
• To coordinate a cohort of RLSS UK Education Volunteers throughout the UK to deliver RLSS UK activity out in the community
• To assemble and coordinate the creation of teams of volunteer lifeguards for a variety of third-party water-based events
• To support RLSS UK volunteers and members with accessing and using our member led database
• To maintain accurate reports of volunteer activities, that can be used to look at the impact of their contribution to the Society’s objectives
• Manage partnerships with external event organisers to ensure:

o Voluntary roles fulfilled by RLSS UK are clear, suitable, safe, and enjoyable

o RLSS UK volunteers meet the requirements of external event organisers

General

• To demonstrate and uphold the Society’s values and behavioural standards at all times
• Ensure compliance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 by complying with internal information governance policies and maintaining up to date documentation as part of RLSS UK’s compliance programme

Transparency International (UK) is looking for an Advocacy Officer

You will be responsible for providing advocacy support to the UK Team, including by drafting and delivering high-level communications, participating in meetings with key stakeholders, and contributing to the planning and implementation of advocacy projects in relation to established objectives.

The Advocacy Officer will report to the Senior Policy Manager - Westminster and perform this within the UK Programme.

Main responsibilities

• Provide advocacy support to the UK Team to produce real-world change, including by drafting and delivering high-level communications (written and oral policy briefings, letters, blogs etc.) and participating effectively in meetings with key stakeholders (MPs, councillors, government officials, private sector allies, civil society colleagues etc.)

• Contribute to the planning and implementation of advocacy projects and events in relation to established objectives.

• Stay abreast of policy developments, news stories, political developments and new research in relation to our work, identifying possible advocacy opportunities for the team.

• Build and maintain positive and fruitful relationships with key stakeholders such as civil society and other partners, parliamentarians and government officials.

• Provide ad hoc programme support where needed, which may include providing administrative and logistic support in organising, planning, recording and coordinating meetings or events, providing follow-up support, as well as collecting monitoring, evaluation and learning data

• Contribute to the UK Team’s event planning and delivery, providing logistical support

• A track record of developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to produce change, ideally with parliamentarians, government officials or civil society organisations.

Charity People are seeking an experienced and confident Designated Safeguarding Lead to join a charity on an interim basis for six months. This is a vital role supporting adults across a wide range of community and specialist services. The postholder will provide expert safeguarding leadership, ensure safe practice, and offer guidance to staff working with vulnerable adults who present with complex needs. This position is required urgently due to the upcoming departure of our current safeguarding lead, so it would be ideal to have a handover period. There is potential for the role to evolve into a broader position as they continue to develop their approach across the organisation.

The Designated Safeguarding Lead will act as the first point of escalation for safeguarding concerns and provide clear, timely advice to staff and managers. The role combines day to day operational safeguarding oversight with longer term development of governance, compliance, and safe practice across services in Surrey. You will work closely with frontline teams, service managers, and the Director of Services to support safeguarding decision making, identify risk, and maintain consistent high standards across all services. This is a hands-on role that requires visibility, relationship building, and confidence working within a busy and diverse organisation.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide expert safeguarding advice on cases
• Oversee safeguarding processes, audits, compliance, and record keeping
• Support staff who may have lower confidence in managing safeguarding concerns
• Escalate cases appropriately to external agencies including MASH, Adult Social Care, and other statutory partners
• Attend key safeguarding meetings and represent the service within local networks
• Identify training needs and support the delivery of safeguarding training and refreshers
• Build relationships across all services and attend team meetings and reflective practice sessions
• Contribute to the development of safe practice across the organisation
• Offer resilience, guidance, and emotional support to staff dealing with complex or distressing cases

You will bring substantial safeguarding experience, ideally within adult services, and hold a minimum Level 3 safeguarding qualification. You will be confident in managing complex cases and navigating multi agency processes.

You will be comfortable working in fast paced environments, able to hold a mixture of reactive and proactive responsibilities, and bring resilience, sound judgement, and a calm approach when supporting staff and service managers. Experience in mental health, outreach, domestic abuse, trauma informed practice, criminal justice, or community support services will be an advantage.

You will bring:

• Significant safeguarding experience and confidence working with adults at risk
• Level 3 safeguarding qualification as a minimum (Essential)
• Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and statutory processes
• Ability to provide clear guidance and hold others to account
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use
• Willingness to work some evenings or occasional weekends where service need requires (TOIL provided)
• Travel across Surrey is (Essential)

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Roundhouse’s fundraising team as a Corporate Partnerships Manager on a temporary basis,to cover a period of maternity leave. The role will suit an individual looking to gain experience working with a broad and varied portfolio of Corporate Partners. 

Reporting to the Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager, this is a key role within the team. We are looking for candidates who have experience delivering complex and multi-faceted partnerships and are adept at building meaningful and lasting relationships with donors.

Occasional weekend and evening work will be required according to business needs.

​The Fund’s digital live service is the front door to our communities. It encompasses the key touchpoints that users engage with on a daily basis to access our funding. You will have responsibility for managing the Fund’s digital live service on a day to day basis This includes ensuring it consistently meets business needs and user expectations. You will also have the opportunity to help improve our service.

​You will be part of our Digital team. We’re a multi-disciplinary team, working to user-led design principles. You will work with other designers, product managers, developers, and colleagues from the rest of the Fund to ensure that our live service is performing to agreed standards.

• Managing the digital live service including defining (SLAs) and ensuring the quality, availability, and performance of the service

We’re seeking an Audience Experience Manager to join our award-winning Engagement, Marketing and Communications team!

We have a range of sophisticated insight tools and are now at an exciting stage of using them to build out and embed our Audience Experience strategy. This role will become a core member of the Audience Lab delivering it.
