ABOUT THE ROLE

We are hiring a Senior Peripatetic Service Manager (SPSM) who will work across a range of services to support with management and leadership activities, new contract implementation, and delivering on service improvement plans. You will provide direction,, support, and guidance to service managers and teams, working responsively and at pace to provide service manager cover as needed. 

You will be based across various services as required, so ability and willingness to travel is essential. In person presence is required however you may be able to have some days working from home as agreed. 

Shift/Working pattern: 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, you may also be required to work outside these hours as per the service requirements and needs such as occasional evenings/weekends. You will also take part in our on call service.

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Line Management and Leadership

• Provide high quality support, leadership and line management to staff, offer guidance, support, and advice to the team and support them to perform to the best of their abilities.
• Provide leadership and management throughout the full employee lifecycle.
• Hold regular one to ones and team meetings to support effective teamwork and communication. Facilitate a culture where constructive challenge is welcomed.
• Proactively embed a culture of learning, development, reflection, and evaluation in a psychologically informed environment.

Service Delivery

• Manage the overall day-to-day operational delivery of your service, working directly with your team, colleagues, residents and participants, as well as other stakeholders to provide a high-quality, holistic service which meets the needs of our residents.
• Ensure service responsibilities and requirements are carried out effectively. This includes but is not limited to; welfare checks, risk assessments, support sessions, safeguarding checks, training and development, and other responsibilities required for effective service delivery.
• Support the team to carry out their day to day duties and responsibilities, offer guidance and support as necessary. 
• Work proactively to ensure the service and team meet and exceed Key Performance Indicators, and work in line with professional codes of conduct.
• Empower residents and participants to make decisions to take control over their lives, by creating an enabling environment.
• Be part of the operational on-call Rota for providing out-of-hours support across the operations directorate.

Risk Management

• Follow relevant risk assessment and management procedures, share relevant information with others as necessary.
• Ensure all case recording and information is accurately recorded in a timely manner, ensuring confidentiality and GDPR.
• Champion, and act as a point of reference for safeguarding concerns within the service(s). Ensure all staff attend relevant safeguarding and training and use knowledge to coach and advise the team.

Property and Housing Management

• Ensure the accommodation in which residents live is clean and maintained to a high standard
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance issues are correctly reported and managed through to completion.
• Ensure a provision of high quality housing management service is provided to residents. 

Financial Management

• Manage the service budget and review monthly management accounts: Set budgets and ensure resources are maximised.
• Promote effective cost control mechanisms and other financial activities.
• Maintain financial management within the service.

Other

• Some of what else is included: Contract management and Internal auditing, admin, and general other duties as required.

KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

• Understanding and/or experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, challenging behaviours
• Experience of working with and engaging with diverse groups of people from varying backgrounds
• Previous experience in people management and development
• IT Proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of organisational software.
• Ability to promote the service and provide outreach-based provision, with an ability to liaise and work effectively in partnership with stakeholders
• Understanding of Housing Management, including voids and evictions

Location: Central London. We offer flexible and hybrid working but office-based work will be essential on a regular basis.

Salary: £43,000 per annum

Main purpose of role: To manage the day-to-day running of our grant programmes to organisations and support the practical implementation of any new grant programmes from application process through to due diligence and record maintenance.

Main duties and responsibilities:  

Grant management 

• Act as the first point of contact for grants to organisations.
• Manage a portfolio of organisational grants that deliver our theory of change outcomes.
• Provide full grant management of our organisational grants, including: preparing grant deeds, keeping track of payments and reporting requirements, distilling learning, to grant renewal considerations.
• Organise and conduct regular meetings with funded organisations to learn alongside organisations and see the work in action.
• Implement grant making processes that reflect best practice and encourage learning through our grant making. 
• Keep up-to-date with changes and developments in the external environment and work with colleagues to reflect this in strategy and practice.

Grant programme development 

• Undertaking scoping and research for new grant programmes, and developing practical knowledge about new programme areas as required.
• Providing project management support for new grant programmes alongside the Senior Grants Manager.
• Taking a lead on the negotiation of new grant agreements.
• Managing the day-to-day processes required by any new grant programme from concept through to advertising the fund, assessing grant applications, due diligence, writing recommendation papers to trustees, to awarding funding and gathering and sharing learning.

Other activities  

• Working with the Impact team to develop our monitoring and evaluation capabilities with funded organisations.
• Working with the Partnerships and Participation Manager and Policy and Best Practice Manager to ensure that our grant making processes are informed by the key stakeholders. 
• Working with our fundraising and communication team to ensure we are communicating effectively with supporters about our work.

Skills & experience:

● You have interest and belief in our mission to improve kids’ health through improving food and food education in schools.

● 3+ years prior experience in a similar role.

● You are organised, methodical, strong on detail, and able to map out deadlines and plan ahead.

● Ideally you’d have some experience of line management, a ‘must’ is a commitment to developing the team.

● You have proven success designing and delivering communications plans and campaigns.

● You have experience successfully pitching stories and/or collaborations to media, journalists and influencers.

The recruitment process

The Data Operations Team is responsible for the day-to-day running of WaterAid's CRM and Integration Hub. About the Role:
As our positive and proactive Data Operations Officer you will play a crucial role in ensuring that key processes are efficiently executed and help to coordinate incoming support requests to the team. You will play a key role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of WaterAid's fundraising data, carrying out data quality checks and financial reconciliation.

You'll also be responsible for carrying out key financial processes from the database, such as Direct Debit and Gift Aid claims. We're looking for someone who is motivated and enthusiastic, with a high attention to detail and the ability to use their initiative to solve problems.

For over 20 years Somerset Environmental Records Centre (SERC) has been the focal organisation for holding data on wildlife sightings, types of habitats and geological information for Somerset.

We are looking for a Science and Data Specialist to support the strategy and work with SERC and the wider Somerset Wildlife Trust (SWT) Team to manage and increase the data and evidence required to meet our organisational goals.

Job Description – Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Working as an integral part of the Innovation and Evidence Team to ensure the Somerset Wildlife Trust becomes a reputable science led organisation and to ensure robust relationships with partner research intensive organisations are managed by:

Responsibility 1: Data and Evidence

• Working with the Head of Innovation and Evidence to develop the Somerset Wildlife Trust strategic approach to data and evidence, promoting SWT as a respected research-led organisation.
• Leading the review and updating of the Somerset State of Nature report, understanding gaps in information and exploring innovative options to increase data coverage and confidence, working closely with the SERC manager and data team.
• Leading on behalf of the Local Nature Partnership to provide inputs to the implementation, review and monitoring of the Somerset Local Nature Recovery Strategy, working closely with stakeholders including Somerset Council, landowner, communities and businesses involved in implementing measures to produce LNRS outcomes.
• Ensuring that new green finance mechanisms such as Biodiversity Net Gain and Wilder Carbon are operating from a sound evidence base, with a clear understanding of reporting needs and routes to monitoring and funding, working with the Heads of Nature Recovery, Reserves and SWTC. 
• Working with flagship investments and grants such as Honeygar Farm, to package, publicise and promote the outcomes of research programmes to appropriate audiences for maximum impact. Contributing to plans to scale these flagships and use science and data to build confidence around future investment plans.

Responsibility 2: Partnership and Funding

• Developing and managing the SWT approach to research partnership positioning SWT as a partner of choice for a diverse range of research-intensive organisations from across disciplines and institutions.
• Working closely with the SWT grants team to provide a pipeline of opportunities for funding, supporting the data and science strategic approach.
• Demonstrating clear planning and management skills around project implementation and budget management to support the portfolio of funded projects, working with staff across the organisation as appropriate.

Responsibility 3: Management

• Managing two permanent members of staff as well as temporary staff where required.
