Working across Medway and Gravesham, you’ll deliver the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model as part of the Connect to Work programme. This evidence-based approach focuses on helping people move into competitive employment quickly, with personalised support that continues once they start work. Full IPS training will be provided, so if you bring the right passion and people skills, we’ll equip you with the rest.
Due to the nature of the role, all applicants must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll manage a caseload of around 25 participants who are motivated to start or return to work, providing personalised support from first meeting through to sustaining employment.
Your role will include:
You’ll also play an important role in connecting participants with opportunities in the local labour market.
This role is highly collaborative and community-focused. You’ll work closely with clinical teams, community organisations, training providers, and employers to ensure participants receive holistic support.
Once someone starts work, your support doesn’t stop. You’ll continue to provide in-work coaching and guidance, helping participants settle into their role, build confidence, and sustain long-term employment.

ASPbelong is a project spanning universities, game developers, artists and young people, exploring how shared immersive experiences can strengthen real-world sense of belonging and mental health. We’re publicly funded by Horizon Europe and UKRI.
We’re looking for an exceptional collaborator to help grow awareness of Lina – our classroom experience in which young people aged 11-14 work together to solve the mystery of a missing classmate – and more broadly of our format Augmented Social Play (ASP). Played on tablets or smartphones without internet access, ASP combines immersive storytelling, collaborative gameplay and evidence-based psychology, making bold but safe use of ubiquitous tech to strengthen real-world connection.
Lina has been in soft launch via a multi-nation scientific study into its impact on young people and classroom climate. It’s been warmly received in dozens of schools, and now we’re gearing up for public launch. So this is about amplifying – getting our message to the right people, especially educators, journalists and thought-leaders. We’re non-profit and non-commercial; we’re motivated by innovation and belief in our work; our success metric is uptake, not income. But this is also about raising visibility in order to secure a future for this work.
This is not a routine social media role. You'll help shape an entire communications strategy, build new partnerships, approach mainstream and specialist press, influencers, and public figures, create or commission short-form content, plan and support event attendance, and more.
We’re looking for someone with initiative, courage and sound judgement, who is genuinely excited by the work we’re doing. Passion for education, social impact, cross-disciplinary creative work or innovative tech could all be relevant. An understanding of how ideas reach people in 2026 is essential.
You’ll work closely with Adam Barnard, the project’s non-academic lead, while interacting with members of a diverse consortium spanning Brighton, Birmingham, London, Dublin, Austria, Czechia, Portugal and beyond. Being based in Brighton (as Adam is) or SE England is a bonus but not essential – this role is primarily remote – however you must be either a British national, or legally able to work in the UK.
We’d start in September / early Autumn, initially on a 6 week trial, then extending to roughly a year’s initial engagement. Hours flexible – we’ve envisioned this as a part-time freelance role, perhaps 2-3 days per week on average, but this is negotiable. Pay dependent on experience but in line with comparable roles.
Before you apply, look closely at our website. Then email us with:
-A short introduction – who you are, and why this interests you (max 250 words)
-A relevant example of something you've made happen, or helped spread (max 250 words)
-You can attach, or link to, a CV and/or portfolio, but this is not essential.
Deadline: Monday 27 July, 12pm

Location: Hybrid / Guilford (3 days per week in office)
Applications close: 9 a.m. Monday 10th August 2026
About Challengers
For almost 50 years, Challengers has been transforming the lives of disabled children and young people through inclusive play. We break down barriers, reduce isolation, support families, and provide respite and community when it’s needed most.
Nearly 1 in 5 children has a SEND need, yet many are excluded from school, play and community life, lacking safe spaces to connect and belong. This leads to isolation for children and intense pressure on families. Children become isolated, missing out on vital opportunities to develop confidence, friendship and independence. Parents are facing exhaustion, declining mental health and often being forced to give up work.
Challengers exists to break this cycle, creating inclusive, community-based spaces and providing services where disabled children and their families are supported. From play and youth schemes to family days and parent carer training and three alternative provision sites, our work tackles inclusion at its root by focusing on belonging, connection and dignity.
About the role
As the Head of Fundraising and Advocacy, you will develop and deliver integrated strategies to connect our story, audiences and funding opportunities, driving an increase in brand awareness and voluntary income. You’ll embrace change with resilience, identify opportunities where others see challenges and work collaboratively across fundraising, communications and the wider organisation to maximise impact.
Ultimately, we’re looking for someone who is driven by purpose, excited by opportunity and ready to help shape the next stage of our fundraising journey.

Are you looking for a rewarding role working for an intersectional feminist organisation? If so, we have an incredible opportunity for you to join our team as a Multiple Disadvantage Worker at Solace Women's Aid.
We exist to end the harm caused by gender-based violence. Our aim is to prevent violence and abuse, as well as provide services that meet the individual needs of survivors, particularly women and children. Our work is holistic and empowering, working alongside survivors to achieve independent lives free from abuse.
Our core values reflect our history and were developed in consultation with staff and service users. Feminism and intersectionality are key to our work, and we are committed to the principles of being survivor-led, trauma-informed, empowering, diverse, anti-racist and anti-discriminatory.
About the Service
Ella House supports women facing multiple disadvantages and intersectional challenges, including homelessness, substance misuse, contact with the criminal justice system and mental ill health. These women can fall through the gaps between services and systems, making it harder for them to address their challenges and lead fulfilling lives. At Ella House, the goals are to support clients with multiple and complex needs, recognising the emotional and compound trauma that can accompany and, in many cases, precede homelessness, and to co-produce, co-ordinate and deliver support.
Ella House provides support by empowering women through independence, inclusion, peer support and wellbeing, bringing together diverse expertise and approaches.
The service delivers holistic support, where people are seen for their full combination of strengths, capacities, and experiences. We recognise how women, as individuals, want to be supported to define and work towards their goals. This looks different for everyone and will require staff to be patient, observant, creative and committed to trying a range of approaches.
About the Role
Multiple Disadvantage Workers provide support services to women affected by multiple disadvantages, who have experienced domestic and/or sexual violence and who have mental ill health and/or use substances.
You will ensure the smooth running of the refuge, including processing and admitting new referrals, ensuring rent and personal charges are paid, preparing rooms, overseeing general housekeeping, organising repairs and responding to crisis situations. You will work with women to devise a Support Plan that meets their immediate practical and emotional needs and starts the process of recovery, linking women to more specialist support services where required. You will work in a trauma-informed way and ideally have a background in supporting people with significant mental ill health and/or substance use issues.
About You
The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of multiple disadvantages and their impact on women, as well as experience of providing emotional and practical support to clients experiencing homelessness, substance misuse, contact with the criminal justice system and mental ill health.
You will have experience of managing risk and following case management procedures to meet the needs of the client group, as well as the ability to work with women to help them understand their needs, assess risk, develop safety plans and link with other agencies.
You will have a working knowledge of the available legal remedies, housing and welfare benefits, as well as experience of providing workshops.
In addition to case management, you will be required to undertake housing management responsibilities, including health and safety and maintenance of the accommodation. You will have excellent administrative and time management skills.
Additional Information
The postholder will be based at our Haringey service, working full-time from Monday to Sunday on a shift rota basis and providing on-site support to survivors. Given the nature of this role, we are unable to offer hybrid working for this position.
