The Role
As Senior Communications Officer, you will:

Develop and deliver SHA’s annual communications and media strategy.

Essential Requirements:

This is an important role in a small communications team where you will help raise our international organisation’ s global profile across Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
This fully remote contracting role is perfect for someone with some communications experience and a keen interest in supporting countries across the world to build better public infrastructure through open governance principles (accountability, transparency, participation, multi stakeholder working).
As the only Spanish speaking member of the communications team, you will lead on social media and news stories across Latin America and therefore fluent Spanish and English (both written and spoken) are essential, in addition knowledge of the Latin America region would be useful.
This is a fully remote consultancy role. You will not be paid on an hourly/daily basis but instead paid a fixed amount (as set out above) each month for completing agreed deliverables with your line manager. The role
The Content Officer will play a key role in managing and developing BDF’s Knowledge Hub, our unique resource library of accurate, authoritative, and up-to-date information on business and disability. They will be responsible for collecting, monitoring, and analysing data on the Knowledge Hub’s use and performance, and using these insights to create and deliver a digital content strategy.
The requirement
- Experience managing and updating digital content, ideally using CMS platforms such as WordPress with Kadence or similar themes
- Proven experience conducting content audits and implementing accessibility checks
- Experience using SEO tools and website analytics to monitor and optimise digital content performance
- Experience writing and proofreading web copy, video scripts, and multimedia content

Fowler’s Syndrome UK (FSUK) is the only charity in the world dedicated to women (and afab) with Fowler’s Syndrome or Chronic Idiopathic Urinary Retention; a life-changing and poorly understood bladder condition that causes full or partial urinary retention.
The CEO is excited to welcome a proactive, purpose-driven, and resourceful Communications and Engagement Lead to join their small and purposeful team and support the next phase in their journey.
In this multi-faceted role, you will ensure that women affected by Fowler’s Syndrome, clinicians, researchers, and the wider public are intimately connected to the charity’s work.You will enable smoother pathways for women seeking support and for healthcare professionals looking to access educational resource, while also leading on a range of communications activities and awareness campaigns.
You will take responsibility for coordinating and facilitating online patient groups, supporting in-person events, and helping to manage FSUK’s Patient Council. Tasked with overseeing the development of content such as patient resources, you will also advance wider engagement across projects and research programmes and ensure that communications, whether via newsletters, social channels, or the website, reflect the charity’s voice and values.
While having strategic oversight and leading on the management of FSUK’s digital platforms, including their WordPress website and database consisting of patients and supporters, you will also maintain the charity’s fundraising pages. Through managing FSUK’s social platforms, you will at times also interact with the charity’s online community, responding with empathy as you engage and signpost to appropriate services such as the FSUK helpline, ensuring people feel heard, informed, and supported.
Lastly, raising awareness of FSUK will be one strand of the communications output, however the primary focus is to enable stronger connections and deepen engagement and trust with their valued community.
Emotional intelligence and well defined interpersonal skills are essential, as well as having proficient organisational ability and the aptitude to multi-task when working independently within this small, yet fast-moving team.
A background in patient, community, or stakeholder engagement will also be a valuable asset, alongside exposure to working within the health, charity, or research sector. You will have demonstrable experience producing content, alongside a track record of managing digital and social platforms (particularly Instagram).
Lived experience of Fowler’s Syndrome is not essential but would be a welcome bonus!

Key Responsibilities
Content creation and content management
- Working with the Senior Communications Manager, research, draft, and edit compelling content for the UK website, newsletters, and print materials.
- Support the reimagining of existing content to ensure messaging is fresh, relevant, and audience-led.
- Collate and maintain a library of case studies, stories, and assets for use across teams.
- Ensure brand voice and tone are consistently applied across all communications.
Digital and organic social media
- Develop and maintain a social media content calendar which supports our Communications Strategy and liaise with our Social Media Freelancer to plan and approve posts.

Our Senior Individual Giving Acquisition Officer will develop, test, learn and grow our fundraising acquisition programme. The role is crucial in implementing our strategy to attract new audiences and donors across a wide range of fundraising products and campaigns from regular giving to virtual challenges.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
Social Media Content Strategy Execution
· Support on the development and execution of a comprehensive social media content strategy, aligned with Alzheimer’s Research UK’s mission and goals.
Content planning and Scheduling
· Working alongside the rest of the social media team to plan content within our management platform ‘Sprout Social’ and ensure we are maximising opportunities across our socials such as Meta, X, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube.
· Identify optimal posting times and frequency to maximise audience engagement and reach.
· Work with the in-house video and design experts to produce eye-catching and compelling new assets which engage audiences with our brand message, raise awareness of dementia and dementia research and increase our reach and followers.
· Work with our senior social media officer to plan and deliver impactful video content across channels. Identifying opportunities to optimise long and short form video for the channels.
· Identify and encourage the use of sharable third-party and user generated content which aligns with Alzheimer’s Research UK’s brand messaging to support creative campaigns and initiatives.
Audience engagement and Relationship Building
· Monitor interactions across Alzheimer’s Research UK’s socials, proactively engaging with supporters to ensure they receive a positive experience.
· Act as a brand ambassador, maintaining high level of attention to detail to the brand voice in all social interactions.
· Be a confident and proficient communicator, able to adopt an appropriate tone of voice for each of our different audience types (including the communication of complex or sensitive issues. Able to communicate sensitively on several issues in a timely manner.
Reporting and Trend Analysis
· Produce insight driven and eye-catching regular reports on content for teams across the charity, to communicate key successes and areas for development, using your expertise and knowledge about the platforms.
· Proactively research, learn and suggest ways to improve our ways of working and efficiency by utilising emerging digital trends, such as artificial intelligence.
Internal Engagement and Collaboration
· Support teams across the charity with their social content, identifying opportunities to share our research, health information, fundraising and other campaign activities; as well as advising on best practice.
· Work with the Social Media Manager to enhance the Employee Advocacy Approach, fostering engagement and participation among staff in sharing social content.
Learning and Development
· Stay informed about the latest advancement in digital marketing, social media, tools and technology. Actively seek opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge through the charities learning and development programme as well as external learning opportunities.
Compliance and Brand Standards
· Ensure all activities comply with our brand and data guidelines and meet the high professional standards of Alzheimer’s Research UK and represents the values of the organisation to the fullest
What we are looking for:
· Experience of working across social media channels for a medium-large size organisation.
· Experience of using a Social Media Management tool such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Falcon.
· Experience of reviewing and disseminating social media metrics and reports. Experience in project and campaign planning for social channels
· Confident in leading discussions and driving creativity and new ideas in social content planning.

The Role
The Social Value Specialist will support SNG to embed impact measurement and social value into teams across the organisation, providing a central, efficient point of contact that leads on developing systems, processes and continuous service improvement.
You will engage with supply chain partners to ensure the delivery of social value in contracts and enable seamless customer service using digital platforms and relationships with community partners.
Connect with team members across the organisation to deliver impact reports and support in creating our annual ESG report.
The Social Value Specialist will report to the Social Value Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan and implement a community investment evaluation and monitoring framework, in direct alignment with the community foundation strategy and strategy and the corporate plan
- Work collaboratively across the multi-disciplinary community investment directorate and with other internal teams in the customer directorate across localities to embed a framework for social impact and outcomes recording
- Support the Social Value Manager to provide regular social impact and environmental social, governance (ESG) reporting to the communities' leadership team and to senior management and board when required
- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation methods and processes for Community Foundation projects and roll out good practice to colleagues and external partners so we can effectively demonstrate our Social Impact
- Lead and support internal teams and external partners in the upload of data such as KPIs onto impact measurement platform for the business, ensuring that information is accurate and easily accessible when required
- Demonstrate strong project management skills to lead and oversee project teams across SNG and with external partners that will bring in external funding
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with stakeholders, including funders, businesses, local authorities and national agencies as required by the Head of Service and managers
- Work closely with the communications team to enable a coordinated communications approach that raises the profile of SNG's work in communities
- Prepare and present written, financial and statistical reports to internal and external bodies as required and ensure funders requirements are met

What we need from you
A good understanding of HACT's Wellbeing Valuation and Social Value Insight would be an advantage, but this is not essential. It would be great if you have some knowledge or experience of working in communities, supply chains and or, monitoring and evaluation.

About the Role

What You’ll Be Doing
