Have you got strategic experience in fundraising, preferably for a charity. We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team, hitting the ground running.

You will be required to try to fill the defecit each year between income and expenditure, raising 

community engagement, grants and bid writing, Wills and Legacies and gaining regular donors, while overseeing a programme of events with an assistant for support?

Fundraising Manager

£38,000 – £41,000 FTE dependent on experience. Reporting to the CEO. Four days, based at Jecca’s House, Chipping Campden.

Responsibilites:

Fundraising – General 

• To deliver a continuous fundraising operation to meet the short, medium and long-term revenue needs of the charity as determined by the CEO and Board of Trustees 
• Establish and maintain positive relationships across the organisation and an in-depth understanding of the charity’s needs and priorities to ensure your fundraising activity contributes positively 
• Development and maintenance of key resources to support our fundraising activity, including case for support, programme schedule and budgets 
• To develop corporate sponsorship proposals and be prepared to respond promptly to funding offers and opportunities 
• To steward regular donors, ensure they receive appropriate thanks and are kept informed
• Develop strategy to increase number of regular donors through the implementation of a regular giving programme 
• Grow and manage the regular donors’ scheme, Payroll Giving, In-Memory giving, and appeals, contributing to the overall fundraising strategy. 
• Champion the use of data and insight to drive regular giving, utilising database (Beacon) for effective prospect and donor management 
• Monitor, evaluate, and forecast campaign performance, ensuring targets are met and providing reports as required 
• Spotting fundraising opportunities and raising awareness of the CHNs work 

Fundraising – Trusts & Foundations 

• Researching fundraising opportunities which are likely to fund the work of CHN, writing compelling grant applications and building and managing a new business pipeline to deliver year-on-year growth in Trust and Foundations Fundraising income 
• Cultivate relationships with prospects and identify appropriate projects or areas of CHN’s work to meet their criteria, developing tailored, persuasive funding proposals 
• Deliver first-class grant management – taking responsibility for all requirements of funders including impact reporting, financial monitoring and reporting 
• Ensure robust and practical monitoring and evaluation plans are in place to demonstrate the impact of grants you manage and report effectively to funders 

Relationship Management 

• Provide excellent stewardship and supporter care to regular donors 
• Produce and deliver tailored engagement plans to deepen and grow CHN donor relationships
• Build and maintain strong internal relationships across the charity to ensure the delivery of CHN’s obligations to our funders 
• Represent CHN at events and networking opportunities as required 

Events 

• Create plan and oversee and work events with the help of a Fundraising/Community Engagement Assistant 
• Line manage Fundraising/Community Engagement Assistant. 

General 

• Manage and provide relevant training for the Fundraising/Event Assistant/Officer 
• Work with the Marcomms Manager and the finance team on the annual fundraising planning process to produce effective budgets and strategies to achieve income targets across all revenue streams 
• Create and manage the community engagement strategy and annual plan to maintain and further raise the profile of the charity while protecting brand by acting as the ‘brand guardian’ 
• Ensure that all activity is compliant with policies and procedures 
• Actively keep current with trends in fundraising

Person Specification: 

• Proven track record in developing and implementing successful fundraising strategies and campaigns, ideally with at least 3 years experience in the charity sector or demonstrate they have transferrable skills to move into the charity sector. 
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as the necessary with the nature of the job. 
• Demonstrated ability to raise substantial fundraised income and achieve targets 
• Effective stakeholder management skills, both internally and externally, previous experience of managing client relationships 
• Experience in budget management, reporting, and forecasting 
• Proficient research and project management skills 
• Strong organisation and communication skills, both verbal and written, to influence, motivate, and persuade donors

Community Fundraising and Communications Engagement Assistant

£22,500 to £26,000 (FTE dependent on experience). Responsible to the Fundraising Manager and Marcomms Manager. Two days per week (worked over three days if preferable. Based at Jecca’s House

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the creation, planning, setting up and working at fundraising and community awareness events 
• Face to face community work in the form of hosting coffee mornings and fundraising/engagement events 
• Face to face collection of raffle prizes etc within our communities 
• Poster erection and flyer distribution

• Work closely with both managers in the MARCOMMS team 

MARCOMMS/Fundraising – General

Person Specification 

• You will be highly organised, used to working in a fast-paced and autonomous environment and need to be able to plan ahead. 
• You will be proactive, flexible, creative, resilient and able to plan ahead.
• Flexibility is key as this role will require evening and weekend work, time will be given in lieu for hours worked in this situation 
• Computer literate as there will be database and design tools such as Canva to use 
• A team player as you will work with the Fundraising Manager and Communications Manager. Prioritisation is second nature.
• You will be confident using social media, and objective and flexible in the way you use the tools and platforms available. 
• Experience using CRMs is desirable but not essential. 
• This role can be physical – the successful candidate will be involved in setting up and closing of events which may entail some heavy moving and carrying.

The Autism Centre of Excellence exists to improve access to high quality support and remove barriers and stigma for autistic people, but to do this we need to grow our funding.

We aim to raise £5 million over the next five years to increase our reach, impact and activities, whilst creating a sustainable and predictable income stream for the charity. To do this we need to systematically build a pipeline of donors and supporters, to build profile and new relationships. In the short term we need someone who can lead the development of a series of applications to trusts, foundations and other sources of funding to support our priority workstreams.

Main duties and Responsibilities

• Primary focus will be on managing and soliciting income from your own portfolio of high value trusts, foundations and statutory funders, securing gifts of between £10,000 - £1,000,000 to successfully achieve the charity’s ambitious fundraising targets.
• Secondary focus will be on the planning and delivery of first-class Special Events and Major Donor fundraising.
• Create a robust prospect pipeline of effectively researched and qualified funders, ensuring a continued flow of prospects through the pipeline, taking a sales approach to lead generation and the assessment of the warmth and value donors.
• Deliver effective research of prospective and existing donors, which enables us to raise significant income through both new and existing relationships; utilising our networks effectively.
• Implement effective cultivation and stewardship journeys that provides a high-quality supporter experience to your portfolio of donors and prospects.
• Deliver first-class relationship management to ensure excellent ongoing relationships with donors in both a written and face-to-face capacity.
• Deliver exceptional writing skills through proposal and bid writing and day-to-day communication with donors and colleagues.

Duties and key responsibilities: 

Office Maintenance

• Oversee the general maintenance of the office.

Main Purpose of the Role:

Royal British Legion Industries Ltd. (RBLI) is both a charity and a company limited by guarantee.  The trustees of RBLI are therefore responsible for oversight of the organisation under both charity and company law.  They are they legal directors, as determined by company law and the Articles of Association.  The day to day running of RBLI is the responsibility of the Chief Executive and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).  This role, which reports to the Director of Governance, Compliance & Business Systems, supports the board of trustees and the SLT in all areas of governance.

Overview of the Role & Team:

Your Key Responsibilities:

Governance:

• Oversight of all board and sub-committee meetings, ensuring there is an efficient and effective structure to achieve organisational objectives including the review and maintenance of all terms of reference.
• Compliance with internal KPIs in relation to issue of board and sub-committee papers.
• Oversight of all matters arising and actions.
• Support the induction process for new trustees.

The Senior Finance Officer is a key role working alongside the Finance Business Partner for ClientEarth’s Business Services and External Affairs teams (BS and EA) to assist in the production of the monthly management accounts, providing support to our budget holders and to a busy finance team.

This new role has been created due to an internal promotion. If you are actively studying for your ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification this role offers you study support while learning on the job, all while helping an environmental charity deliver on its mission of using the power of the law to protect life on Earth. 

You will join a finance team currently totalling 23 colleagues working across our offices in London, Brussels, Warsaw, Berlin, Madrid, Tokyo and Beijing.

Meet your Manager

In this role, you will be managed by Kasheena Paryag. In 2017, Kasheena started her career in the non profit sector and has had various finance roles in both charities and grant making organisations since. Kasheena joined ClientEarth in March 2022 and is based in our London Office. As a Finance Business Partner, Kasheena is the main point of contact for our CEO, Business Services and External Affairs departments, and works closely with these teams.

Main Duties

• Management Reporting - Support in the timely and accurate production of monthly management reporting from Workday Adaptive taking responsibility for running the reports for a number of budget departments.
• Budgeting and Forecasting - Support, as appropriate, with annual budget setting, entity budgets, monthly forecasting, process improvements and budget assumptions including Adaptive Planning modelling. 
• Data Integrity - Ensuring accurate coding of transactions, raising and responding to queries from budget holders. 

Role requirements

• Actively studying for ACA/ACCA/CIMA. Study support provided
• Experience of working with Access Dimensions, FocalPoint, Workday Adaptive or other similar accounting packages
• Experience of managing deadlines through a financial month end process 
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly of large excel spreadsheet functionality including lookups, pivot tables, data sorting

Main responsibilities will include:

Administration

• Be responsible for securing contracts by confirming booking information and working with the Head of Budgets, Contracts & Policy to ensure freelance trainer contracts and Service Agreements are in place

• Oversee the general administration of all APD functions including responding to customer queries and feedback

•  Process course bookings made via Thinkific and other platforms, ensuring all requirements are noted and passed on appropriately

• Ensure effective contribution of accurate and timely data required by Artswork and its funders / stakeholders

Finance

• Be responsible for APD budgets including raising sales invoices, reconciling payments and managing deferred income

• Follow anti-money laundering procedures to ensure APD sales are compliant with legislation

• Ensure all finance and operations processes and procedures are rigorously implemented in collaboration with the Finance & Operations team

• Produce budget forecasts for APD and provide monthly updates on current financial position to the Deputy CEO and Head of Budgets, Contracts & Policy

• Chase debtors and regularly report any overdue payments to the Finance team

Strategy

• Contribute to the APD growth strategy through ideas and practical solutions

• Work with the APD team and Deputy CEO in the development of new programmes, routes to market and audience development

Communications

• Help to maintain strong communication channels with all partner organisations and customers

• Provide administrative support in developing regional networks, contacts and partners

• Assist with the engagement of employers and partners for projects and programmes

Administration and Legal Compliance

• Maintain positive professional relationships with our participants, partners and stakeholders •

About the Team

This role is part of the Communications, Policy, and Campaigns (CPC) team, which drives Shelter's ground-breaking campaigning efforts.

The CPC team leads initiatives advocating for social housing, renters' rights, and ending the housing emergency.

As our Assistant Director Activism & Advocacy, you'll work alongside other Assistant Directors, contributing to a collaborative, non-hierarchical decision-making environment.

About the Role

As Assistant Director Activism & Advocacy, you will provide strategic direction to the heads of Digital campaigning, Community Organising, Policy, Research, and Public Affairs teams.

You'll support the development of high-profile campaigns and drive continual improvement to achieve Shelter's strategic goals.

This role involves building strong relationships across Shelter, promoting collaboration, and acting as a spokesperson when required.

You'll need excellent political instincts, campaign experience, and the ability to oversee the production of high-quality policy and research.

About You

We're seeking candidates with experience in matrix management environments, senior leadership skills in project/change management, and a track record of impactful campaigning, policy, research, or public affairs activities.

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment and a mission that matters. We exist to prevent children becoming involved in violence. We do this by funding great initiatives, leading cutting-edge research and working for change - scaling up and spreading the practices that make a difference. 

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) has a critical role in ensuring we succeed in this work. You have a key leadership role in overseeing the overall health of the Fund in partnership with the Executive Director. The role oversees our finances, people management and – for the right candidate –much of our grant-making and project management. 

Key responsibilities 

You’ll lead on key organisational governance processes and ensure the Fund makes wise decisions, by:  

• Being a leading member of our Directors’ team, overseeing all elements of the Fund’s work.

• Ensuring that the Fund operates as efficiently and effectively as possible by prioritising the right activities and matching resources to deliver on our mission.

• Ensuring we have the right long, medium and short-term financial plans in place and that we maintain close control over our financial decisions and spend. 

• Informing our Board and our Risk and Audit Committee on our financial performance and risk.

• Ensuring the Fund’s investments are well managed through supporting the Endowment Investment Committee (this does not require investment experience). 

• Managing our Grants and Evaluation Committee (this decides which evaluations we should fund) and ensuring it operates effectively. 

• Ensuring that any ambiguities in the organisation are identified and removed. 

You make sure that the Fund has the people, tools and resources in place to excel. This will require us to:  

• Hire, develop and inspire the very best people: Managing our Head of People, you will ensure that we hire the best possible staff, compensate them appropriately, provide necessary and effective training, maintain a strong focus on staff well-being, manage and develop staff effectively and address poor performance when required. 

• Provide staff with the tools they need to perform: Managing our Head of Grant Operations, you will ensure that we have the tools we need to deliver, including management information, databases, systems and processes and office facilities. 

• Track performance: Track performance against our goals efficiently and effectively, championing a system of accountability and action to review, identify and empower the right people to act on delivering according to the plan. 

Working with colleagues, you’ll ensure we award grants, manage grantees and oversee evaluations efficiently and effectively. This will require us to: 

• Make excellent decisions about our grants: Working with – and potentially managing1 - the Assistant Director for Programmes, Impact and Partnerships, you will help to ensure that our processes for assessing funding applications achieve our organisational priorities for evidence generation. This requires you to understand what partners are trying to do, whether it’s likely to work, whether it will help us build an accessible and trusted body of knowledge, and whether we can build on it to make long-term change happen. 

• Evaluate our programmes: Working with - and potentially managing - the Assistant Director of Evaluation, you will help to ensure that we select and partner with high-quality evaluators to understand how well different activities work.

• Ensuring the team maintains effective monitoring processes: Working with your team, you will develop the necessary skills, processes and decision-making processes to identify when things aren’t going to plan and respond accordingly.

• Build strong relationships with your external partners: You and your team will build strong, trusting relationships with the projects the YEF funds and the evaluators that we work with. Your team will be known for being attentive yet assertive and measured and efficient in the reporting information we expect. You will become well connected in the sectors that we are working in.

• Identify opportunities to scale up projects: You will be proactive in identifying projects that would benefit from capacity development support or that may be ready to scale up their work, collaborating with Impetus to deliver on this.

Person specification

You’re excellent at financial forecasting and understand how to make judgements and recommendations based on future scenario planning. You have experience reporting to Boards on financial performance and health, and leading on organisational external audits.

• You are strategic about finance: You’ve got real skill in distilling complex financial information into simple, easy to understand reports and presentations that enable good decision-making. You see your knowledge of finance as a way to serve Director-level colleagues with overall decision-making. You also understand how to navigate competing priorities and how to calculate and articulate risk and reward, knowing few decisions are straightforward.

• You get teams to use data well: You understand that accurate data and excellent management information tools enable good decision-making. You understand how management information databases (like Salesforce) work and would be able to maintain and build a culture of recording data and maintaining data quality within big teams. Ideally, you have experience working directly with Salesforce.

• You get things done and are brilliant at improving things: In previous jobs, you have held significant responsibility for ensuring challenging projects are delivered on time. You like finding ways to make things operate better for everyone. You are excellent at designing and putting in place effective systems and processes.
