The Development Manager (Fundraising & Engagement) will play a pivotal role in this next phase, combining hands-on income generation with strategic leadership of fundraising and engagement. Working closely with the Registrar, senior leadership and Trustees, you will shape and deliver a more structured and sustainable approach to philanthropy while leading a small Development team encompassing fundraising operations and communications. As Development Manager (Fundraising & Engagement), you will:

• Develop and deliver the College’s fundraising and donor engagement strategy

• Strong relationship-building and networking skills, with credibility engaging donors, partners and senior stakeholders
• Experience developing compelling cases for support and effective stewardship strategies
• Demonstrable experience of engaging with Muslim communities and an understanding of faith-based giving practices, including Zakat and Sadaqah
• The ability to build trusted relationships with donors and stakeholders within Muslim communities
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience overseeing public-facing communications and digital channels

Person specification

 Essential

• Experience of successful grant fundraising and community or local business fundraising.
• Strong written communication skills, with the ability to write clear, persuasive funding applications and reports.
• A target-driven and organised approach, with the ability to manage a fundraising pipeline, work to deadlines and report progress against agreed targets.

Reporting arrangements

Reporting to the Charity Manager, you will also work closely with trustees and volunteers to identify fundraising opportunities and gather evidence of impact.

Development Manager (Fundraising & Partnerships)

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer, working closely with the Programmes Lead and Finance & Governance Lead.

Hours: We anticipate appointing this role as a 2 days per week (0.4 FTE) employee.

About the Role

Fundraising (Lead)

You will take ownership of WWR's fundraising activity across your portfolio, working closely with the CEO while leading delivery day-to-day.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading delivery of fundraising across community fundraising, individual giving and smaller trusts and foundations.

• Researching, writing and submitting grant applications to trusts and foundations.

• Managing relationships with existing trust funders and individual donors, including stewardship and reporting.

This includes established campaigns such as Christmas Jumper Day, PJ Day, In Memory and Schools fundraising, as well as developing innovative opportunities to inspire community support.

Working collaboratively with colleagues across the charity, volunteers, supporters and partners, you will help strengthen relationships, increase engagement and maximise fundraising income to support Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity's mission.

The role will require occasional evening and weekend working required to support fundraising events and community activities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of community fundraising products, campaigns and projects that support sustainable income growth.
• Support the implementation of the charity's community fundraising strategy and contribute to future planning and development.
• Line manage the Community Fundraising Officers, providing leadership, performance management and professional development.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with supporters, community groups, schools and key stakeholders.
• Monitor and report on fundraising performance, budgets and KPIs, ensuring targets are achieved and opportunities identified.
• Ensure excellent supporter stewardship and donor care, creating positive experiences that encourage long-term engagement.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across fundraising, marketing and volunteering teams to deliver integrated campaigns and initiatives.
• Ensure fundraising activities comply with relevant legislation, policies and fundraising best practice standards.
• Represent the charity at events, meetings and community engagements, acting as an ambassador for the organisation.

About you

We're looking for an enthusiastic and results-driven fundraising professional with experience of delivering successful fundraising campaigns, managing relationships and leading teams. You will be passionate about creating meaningful supporter experiences and motivated by the opportunity to make a difference for children and young people.

• Experience of community fundraising, events, account management, sales or a similar relationship-focused role.

The Head of Fundraising is a senior leadership role with overall accountability for the strategic development, operational effectiveness and performance of all fundraising activity at Greyhound Rescue Wales (GRW).

The generosity of individual supporters, churches and community groups enables Boaz Trust to provide accommodation and support for people seeking sanctuary, and to challenge and change the unjust systems that cause destitution, both locally and nationally. We are looking for a Fundraising Officer who will help us give supporters an excellent experience, maintain accurate fundraising records and develop opportunities for people and communities to get involved in our work. This is an exciting role which will give the right person the opportunity to work across a variety of fundraising activities and disciplines. 

The relationships built and fundraising activity enabled through this role will support Boaz’s work with people who are facing or experiencing homelessness because of their insecure, changing or uncertain immigration status. Our work includes providing safe accommodation and person-centred support, while working towards our mission of ending destitution among people seeking sanctuary.

Day to day, you will provide excellent care for supporters as you process and acknowledge donations, respond to supporter enquiries and ensure that our fundraising database is functioning well and information is recorded accurately in it. You will build positive relationships with supporters, churches and community groups, arrange and deliver speaking engagements, promote sponsored events and help people find meaningful ways to raise funds for Boaz. You will work also closely with colleagues to deliver fundraising projects across the breadth of Boaz’s fundraising activity as and when these arise.

The Head of Fundraising will work closely with our Chief Executive and will be responsible for developing and delivering a strategic fundraising programme that generates sustainable income and supports the organisation's growth aligned to ambitions. You will proactively manage projects and build strong relationships with individuals, businesses and community groups, while also supporting and developing volunteers and their involvement.

As part of our Income Generation Team, you will work closely with the Head of Fundraising, Sponsorship & Legacies Officer and Trusts and Foundations Officer to help deliver an annual income target of £400k+.

Alongside maximising opportunities with our existing supporters, you will play a key role in developing and nurturing new ideas, partnerships and activities.
