Tinnitus UK is the only registered charity in the UK supporting the one in seven adults who have tinnitus!  The charity has recently renamed and rebranded.  All part of the ambitious plans fo the charity to raise its profile and relevance even further, to reach and help more people than ever.  We are looking for a Fundraising and Events Administrator to provide administrative and operational support to the Fundraising Managers (Corporate, Major Donor, Legacy, Individual Membership, Trusts & Foundations) and to the Head of Services by administering donor and supporter records and assisting with events and general operational duties.

Main Responsibilities

Fundraising General (65%)

• Organizing and maintaining membership and donation data in the CRM database (Donorfy)
• First point of contact for supporter enquiries (email/phone)
• Taking telephone donations when required
• Flagging contact/donations to relevant team members
• Printing and posting thank you letters for offline donors

Events (20%)

• Monitor the events@inbox
• Monitor event bookings and process invoices as required
• Liaise with speakers, attendees and sponsors as appropriate

• Ensure website and Eventbrite accurately reflect current and coming events are upto date including event details.

• Monitor Tinnitus UK email info@ inbox responding to emails or directing to colleagues as necessary
• Stationery and mailroom stock checks and replenishing of stock as required
• Assist the Office Manager with office administrative tasks
• Work across the Tinnitus UK team and assist in all areas of work
• Attend internal and external meetings, events and training
• Assist the office manager with bookings of meetings/conference venues for Trustee Board and other meetings/training days
• Organise travel and accommodation as and when required
• Undertake training (In-house and external) as required

The Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOphth) is a membership organisation and the voice of the profession, with over 4,000 members in the UK and overseas. Our role is to champion the specialty, set standards of training and practice, and influence change to make a difference to the lives of patients with eye conditions.

Job Purpose

As part of the four strong events team, this role is responsible for coordinating the delivery of numerous educational events throughout the year. These events support the clinical and non-clinical skills and professional development of our members as key components of lifelong learning and improvement.

In addition, the role will support the Events Manager in the administration of the showcase Annual Congress as well as the Admissions Ceremony. As part of the team, you will also assist other team members as necessary.

Main Purpose and Deliverables

• Delivery of the Training the Trainers Courses (TTT) and Certificate of eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) Courses.
• End to end event, speaker and customer support specifically for the TTT and CESR events and as delegated for the education and seminar programme.
• Assist in the management of the education and seminar programme as well as the Admissions Ceremony with the Events Manager.
• Management of Congress registration.

Main responsibilities

• Liaising with the comms team to market events.
• Respond to all enquiries.
• Manage the online course booking process (this includes payments receipts, etc.)
• Send out event information to attendees.
• Produce feedback and collate the information.
• Send out course completion or attendance certificates.
• Book all rooms as required and catering.
• Organise speakers for events, liaising with relevant stakeholders.
• Book the speakers’ hotel accommodation.
• Maintain the relevant sections on the College website.
• Maintain the database for relevant faculty and facilitators.
• Maintain, in liaison with each TTT Lead, the material to be used for pre-learning and throughout the courses.
• Check and sign off expenses from trainers attending courses.
• Provide administrative support for Ophthalmic Practitioner (OPT) TTT courses.
• Produce delegate and speaker registers.

• Be the main point of contact for speakers and chairs during the event.

 Management of Congress registration

• Responsibility for the management of the Congress registration process, working with the Events Manager to the agreed event delivery schedule.
• Set up prices on the Eventsforce database.

• Deal with all queries relating to registration.
• Update delegate records and information on the Eventsforce database.
• Add speaker registration and bulk registrations from sponsors.
• Management of on-site registration during the four days of Congress.
• Supervision of other staff members on registration desk.
• Deal with on-site queries and responding appropriately.
• Develop and send out feedback form, collate feedback and distribute.
• Produce the CPD template and send to all delegates who attended.

Support the Skills Co-ordinator/ Skills and Events Administrator when required

• To provide support to trainers on skills courses.
• To set up courses in the absence of the Skills Co-ordinator which includes running courses, cleaning up the skills centre and associated duties undertaken normally by the Skills Co-ordinator.

Other duties

• Assist in the administration of the Admissions Ceremony.
• Some travel is expected, including attendance at events and overnight stays. Working outside normal hours may also be required from time to time.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Events Manager or Head of Education, Training and Events.

Job Description  

This is a great time to join PCR’s Events & Community team as we expand the team off the back of raising over £1.3m (against a target of £800k) in 2023-24. We’ve had a really successful year with good results across our portfolio, so we’re excited to be recruiting a brand-new role to focus on PCR’s bespoke events and finding the successful events of the future! 

We are therefore looking for a proactive team player to join us and lead the innovation and delivery of our programme of PCR-owned fundraising events. This will include our flagship challenge Snowdonia for Science, as well as leading product development of new challenge, community fundraising and special event propositions. The Bespoke Events Manager will also work with colleagues across the organisation to support other strategic and stewardship events.

The position reports to the Head of Events & Community, and will line manage one Events & Community Officer. Collaboration will be a big part of the role, especially with the Virtual & Challenge Events Manager (VCM) who leads our virtual fundraising and third-party challenge events. 

Key Responsibilities 

As Bespoke Events Manager, we would be very keen to work with you to develop and shape this into an exciting and meaningful role for you. We prioritise our team member's development, and there will be a percentage of time available to work on other areas of the portfolio for development and interest. However, your main focus would be;

Project Management 

• Project manage PCR's flagship challenge, Snowdonia For Science. An amazing community event now enering its 16th year and forcast to raise £100k in 2024. This event is well-established but with plenty of room for you to make your mark, grow and improve the event. 
• Project manage new events and community products as they are developed and tested, including end-to-end planning and delivery
• Design and deliver ambitious fundraising budgets for your projects which contribute net income towards PCR's lifesaving mission. 
• Create good relationships with suppliers, venues, agencies and consultants to ensure great value.
• Lead the stewardship of fundraisers taking part in your events, boosting income and using feedback to continually develop positive journeys, experiences and opportunities for supporters 
• Alongside the Head of Events & Community and others, support the development and delivery of other events, including high value fundraising and stewardship events, and plans for a conference style event in collaboration with PCR's Research & Comms and Patient Projects teams. 

Product development and innovation 

• As a key part of the role, you’ll spend a good proportion of your time developing and testing new fundraising propositions, taking a test & learn approach. For this, there are realistic budgets and an understanding of the investment needed to try new ideas. 
• Product development will include special event product testing and at least one new community fundraising product in 2024-25. 
• Maintain a good level of understanding of PCR’s existing (and target) supporters in order to create and implement products and stewardship that motivate and inspire them. 
• Alongside the Head of E&C and the VCM, embed a culture of innovation and supporter insight in the team. 
• Proactively collaborate internally, working with other teams to identify opportunities for new events, activities and stewardship journeys that meet Prostate Cancer Research’s objectives. 

Team leadership 

• Line manage one Events & Community Officer, overseeing their work, guiding them to improve & innovate in their role, and supporting their professional development.
• Work closely with the Head of E&C and the VCM on team strategy, capacity planning and ways of working.
• Alongside the VCM, take a lead role on developing processes and infrastructure across the team including for stewardship, content, data and compliance. 
• Attend and contribute to meetings, sharing new ideas and learnings that might be useful for the wider team.
• Work with the Head of E&C and the VCM to embed and model PCR’s organisational values in the Events. Our values include: innovation, collaboration, accountability and championing the patient voice. 

As with everyone in the Public Fundraising team, the Bespoke Events Manager may also get in involved with other projects and tasks as appropriate to support all our activities.

They will share the Social Change Nest’s ambitions to transform funding for grass roots organisations and coalitions by reimagining fundraising, removing structural barriers and encouraging institutional funders to support community interests. They will oversee the Marketing, Communications & Development Assistant and one other team member and will collaborate with Risk, Compliance and the Innovation Managers. About the role

 Role Particulars

Working Pattern: Full time working hours, including weekly in-person team meetings in London: monthly all-staff meetings on Tuesdays twice a month, and weekly on Wednesdays twice a month.  The nature of this role means that some travel and working away from home will be required, as agreed in advance.  Specifically, the Head of Fundraising and Partnerships must be available for the annual leadership conference and some or all of the New Wine annual summer festival (on-site or remote support). 

Places of work: This role is eligible for hybrid and flexible working, with a minimum of 1 day in the London office a week.

Supervision: The post holder will receive regular supervision from their line manager. 

Role review: There is a three-month probationary period for this role.  The post holder will then receive a quarterly rolling review of performance, the role, job description, terms and package.

As the Head of Programmes, you will play a central role in Jangala’s evolution at this important juncture, leading Jangala’s efforts to provide critical internet access to those who need it most. You will build and lead the partnerships with a wide range of delivery partners, from UK councils to the UN and major aid agencies, that will facilitate Jangala’s growing impact around the world, as well as lead a team dedicated to building efficient and insight-driven programmes. Your leadership will ensure the successful implementation of our connectivity initiatives, and help achieve Jangala’s ambitious impact targets providing meaningful connectivity worldwide.

• Lead Jangala’s overall programme delivery, building partnerships across the UN, NGO and public sectors to deliver internet connectivity to millions of people by 2028

Last year we saw a 133% growth in the numbers of young people facing homelessness coming through our doors. Now, nearly half of them are - or recently have been - sleeping rough and with the numbers of young rough sleepers in the capital growing at an alarming rate, New Horizon Youth Centre has had to take decisive action to unlock support and housing for this group. The Head of Services - Rough Sleeping is a brand-new role for the organisation and will lead on developing a new internal strategy for young people facing rough sleeping, as well as holding operational oversight of our established youth-specific street outreach function and emergency accommodation hub, both of which are unique in London. You will need to be strategic in approach and an excellent relationship builder. You will act as our lead colleague on relationships with the Greater London Authority and London Councils’ rough sleeping teams, working with them to ensure our learning and insights inform policy and ultimately open up access to emergency support for those under 25. Alongside this you will need a keen eye for operational detail, have experience of delivering homelessness services, and be passionate about piloting new solutions to prevent homelessness among young people. More than anything you will need to champion what young people can achieve, be committed to collaborating with others and determined to find a way.
