- In order to realise this ambition, we need to increase our fundraised income for the period 2024 -2027 to £1.6million.
- Through this new organisational role, you’ll proactively create and grow fundraising income opportunities with individuals, community groups and grant giving trusts and foundations. You'll be at the heart of our local community, bringing our cause to life and building lasting donor relationships.

You’ll also explore and implement ways of promoting Eastbourne Food Bank across the community to successfully attract an ever-greater number of individual donors.
- You’ll engage with local community groups, associations, events, schools and businesses in order to grow Eastbourne Foodbank’s community fundraising reach and income.
- Through excellent, comprehensive and considered research, you’ll identify and prioritise a pool of potential Trusts and Foundations funders for Eastbourne Foodbank and, working with colleagues, you’ll develop authentic, compelling, creative and winning funding bids that can successfully engage new and existing Trusts and Foundations funders.
- You’ll work closely with and support the CEO of Eastbourne Foodbank in maintaining and evolving the existing relationship with the Big Lottery Fund and developing collaborative fundraising activities and joint bids with five other Trussell Trust Foodbanks across East Sussex.

The role
As our Head of Finance, reporting into the CFO, you’ll lead the finance team, ensuring robust financial management and sustainability to support our charitable objectives. You will direct the day-to-day operations of the finance team, actively manage financial planning and forecasting, and develop high level models to support strategic and operational decision making. What are we looking for?

Here’s some of the experience and expertise you’ll need for the role:
· A professional accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post-qualified financial and operational management experience.
· Prior experience in a senior level finance role with responsibility across the entire finance function, including hands on experience in delivering business partnering.
· Significant experience of financial planning and analysis.
· Commercial or charity accounting experience, including the preparation of statutory accounts, and preferably SORP compliance.
· Experience leading an end-to-end external audit process.
· Familiarity developing, improving and implementing financial procedures and controls.

As our current Head of Fundraising moves on to a CEO position at another organisation, we seek an exceptional individual to build upon her achievements. The role involves overseeing a team of five:
• Development Manager (Individual Giving and Parishes)
• Senior Development Manager (Trusts and Foundations) alongside a part-time Trusts & Foundations Fundraiser
• Senior Development Manager (Major Donors)
• Senior Partnerships and Engagement Manager (Corporate Partners)
The successful candidate will empower and guide their team to sustainably push forward with fundraising strategy and delivery, nurturing relationships with trusts, foundations, corporations, high net worth individuals, Catholic networks, parish communities, and individual supporters. We seek someone with a proven track record in fundraising, leadership skills to inspire their team, and managerial abilities to foster a cohesive team spirit and support personal growth.
In addition to leading and developing the fundraising team, the Head of Fundraising will be part of our collaborative Executive Team, working closely with colleagues in Communications and Engagement, Business Development, Finance, and across our Services regions and specialisms. They will also receive support from our Head of Faith in Action, who reports to the CEO, and collaborate with our Chair of Trustees, Professor Jim McManus, and other trustees. Our strategy emphasises shared objectives and teamwork.

The Helen Bamber Foundation (HBF) is a pioneering Human Rights charity supporting refugees and asylum seekers who are the survivors of trafficking and torture, including gender-based and ‘honour-based’ violence. Recognising the complexity of each client’s suffering and needs, the Foundation provides specialist medical consultation, therapeutic care, legal protection and practical support to survivors of human rights violations by helping men, women and children heal the emotional and physical damage they have suffered through torture, trafficking or other forms of cruelty. We take the learning from our work to develop partnerships to increase survivors’ access to services, and use the learning generated by our clients and partners to drive system change.
Since August 2020, Asylum Aid has been part of the Helen Bamber Foundation Group. Asylum Aid operates as an independent charity, led by its own Executive Director within the group structure, and is ambitious about growing its impact and reach in the future to ensure protection from persecution for those who need it. For over thirty years, Asylum Aid has been providing legal representation to some of the most vulnerable people seeking asylum. It has built an expert service, delivering vital and life-saving services in some of the most complex legal cases, with a particular speciality working with unaccompanied children, survivors of trafficking, torture or other forms of human cruelty, and stateless people. In this role you will support both charities alongside the CEO, Executive Director of Asylum Aid and Senior HR and Operations Officer.
OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
The Head of People is a new role for the organsiation and you will be joining us at an exciting time, as we are moving into new offices and seek to drive forward our new 2025-2030 strategy. This role will play a pivotal role in implementing our objective to be an employer of choice. maintaining and evolving our strong team culture, and strengthening our position as leader in evidence based management and leadership practices. In this role you will be supported to develop the capacity, capability and human resource systems of the organisation to achieve impact at scale with a strong and effective team and will work in close collaboration with the CEO, the members of the Executive Leadership Team and Management Team as well as the Senior HR and Operations Officer.
You will provide leadership in developing and implementing our People and Culture strategic objectives. Some of your immediate priorities will be undertaking a review of our current policies and systems, preparing for our Pay and Benefits Review and setting up a Wellbeing Review and Consultation. You will also be asked to undertake a review of our equality, diversity and inclusion policy and the accompanying anti-racism action plan. You will bring your expertise in people and human resources to help secure the organisation’s long-term sustainability and impact.

About the role
As the Head of Philanthropy, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to meet targets, nurture relationships with donors, and engage new supporters. The Head of Development will deliver the charity's ambitious 3-year fundraising strategy and oversee all fundraising campaigns across membership, individual giving, trusts, foundations, and corporate support, as well as providing excellent stewardship to major donors. They will guide, inspire and support a high-performing and collaborative development team to achieve annual fundraising goals, as well as overseeing internal fundraising processes.
The postholder will manage and grow a portfolio of supporters, and work closely with the CEO on one-off major gift campaigns. They will also provide stewardship of funders to the highest standard, ensuring the delivery of promised benefits to all members and supporters, such as complimentary ticket requests, special events, and rehearsal attendance. Additionally, they will oversee the messaging and strategy for legacy giving and manage an engaging communications schedule for supporters that conveys the company's key messages and values.
