OVERVIEW
Rising Sun Domestic Violence and Abuse Service (the Rising Sun) is an independent charity in Kent working to prevent domestic abuse and improve the lives of survivors and their children suffering from its effects. We have an ambitious vision for a world in which women and children live free from actual or threatened domestic abuse and all forms of violence.
Our team provide a range of services to adults and children who’ve experienced domestic abuse. We understand the impact of domestic abuse on survivors and so we listen to individual needs and respond in a trauma informed way. We provide one-to-one support and also deliver therapeutically informed group programmes to help survivors to recognise healthy/unhealthy behaviours in relationships and to understand the impact of domestic abuse. Bringing survivors together validates experiences and enables them to draw strength from one another.
We are looking for a creative and proactive individual who has experience of supporting survivors of domestic abuse. Working with survivors of domestic abuse as an outreach worker, you will play a crucial role in advocacy, risk assessment, safety planning and empowerment.

JOB PURPOSE
- To provide practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic abuse, including crisis intervention, risk assessment and safety planning.
- To develop individual support plans, which address the risk of harm and offer information, advocacy, advice and signposting to survivors, underpinned by individual risk and need.
- To empower survivors, thereby increasing self- esteem, reducing isolation and helping survivors to keep safe.
- To provide survivors with information relating to their rights and ensuring survivors are empowered to make decisions based on their options.
- To work in collaboration with the adult team and wider Rising Sun team to support other programmes delivered within the organisation.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Service delivery
- Work as part of a team providing high quality support, advice, advocacy and information to survivors of domestic abuse.
- Manage a caseload in accordance with organisational policies and procedures and adhere to confidentiality.
- Work in a needs led way with a specific focus on a trauma informed approach, which recognises domestic abuse and its impact.
- Work holistically with survivors, recognising individual needs, and help survivors to recognise and build on their strengths and abilities to build self-esteem and resilience.
- Offer support face to face or remotely, via phone or video call, depending on the needs of the survivor and current guidance around social distancing.
- Attend regular supervision and appraisals with line-manager.
- Work effectively in partnership with other agencies and refer on appropriately, dependant on need and risk. This may include referral to specialist agencies, to other specialist DVA services or other external processes (for example MARAC).
- Assess risk to individuals on a regular basis using the DASH risk indicator checklist.
- Work with survivors to develop tailored support plans with a focus on reducing the risk of harm, increasing their personal safety (and that of any children) and responding to their individual needs.
- Support survivors to be able to identify and manage the risks to themselves and their children
- Provide information to survivors in relation to their options, including guidance in relation to their housing, legal and welfare rights and advocate on their behalf as required.
- Encourage service users’ participation in service development, continuous improvement and feedback exercised.
- Represent the Rising Sun at relevant community meetings and forums.
- Support Rising Sun’s community services including our One Stop Shop drop in service and group programmes.
- Maintain up to date and accurate records and ensure, reports and evaluations are completed as required.

- An accredited VAWG/domestic abuse qualification, e.g. IDVA / DAPA (Desirable).

About the Suzy Lamplugh Trust
Suzy Lamplugh Trust is the UK’s pioneering personal safety charity and leading stalking authority. We were established in 1986 following the disappearance of 25-year-old Suzy Lamplugh, an estate agent and lone worker who went to meet a client and never returned. The Trust exists so that what happened to Suzy does not happen to anyone else. For the past 37 years, we have worked towards reducing the risk of harassment, stalking, aggression, and violence. Our Stalking Helpline offers support and advice to thousands of victims of stalking every year, while our bespoke advocacy teams work closely with partners across the Violence Against Women and Girls’ (VAWG) sector, the criminal justice system, and both statutory and non-statutory services to ensure our clients can live a live free from abuse and fear.
You will be working alongside a team of advocates who are dedicated to supporting and empowering victims and survivors of stalking. By working with a caseload of 20- 25 clients, you will have the opportunity to provide holistic and bespoke advocacy to your clients, whilst leveraging your knowledge of gender-based abuse to support the Trust’s specialist mission.
Purpose of Role:
· To provide expert advice and advocacy to victims of stalking, both within the context of domestic abuse, and non-domestic abuse related stalking.
· To provide guidance and support by telephone, email and face-to-face to those affected by stalking.
· To provide casework support and advocacy to victims of stalking, liaising with both voluntary and statutory services to ensure positive outcomes for victims.
· To support the operational Team Leaders where required.

Work Location: The post holder will be required to be office-based initially to support their induction and integration with the service. The Mental Health IDVA will be employed by FearFree to develop pathways and processes for the Mental Health IDVA working in tandem with staff from Devon Partnership Trust to identify both patients and staff who are currently experiencing Domestic Abuse.
The Mental Health IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service embedded within DPT to ensure all staff are aware of Domestic Abuse, and equipped to ask the right questions and encourage both patients and staff to engage with the support the Mental Health IDVA will bring to this environment.
The post holder will assist health practitioners to respond more effectively to domestic abuse, particularly those with complex and multiple needs, and will bring specialist knowledge and skills in empowering clients to seek the right support, and move forward.
The work will include providing specialist knowledge and expertise to other health care practitioners to ensure victims of domestic abuse (and their children) are safeguarded from further harm, to provide a strong partnership approach to service provision.
Priority will be given to medium and high risk cases that are employees and patients of DPT – those who do not live in Exeter/Mid Devon area to be sign-posted to specialist support within FearFree Devon, or referred to partner NDADA if living in North Devon. To work with all victims of abuse (male or female) who are currently registered with formal DPT support.
Key elements of the role include:
· Providing priority support to both patients and staff at the hospital.
· Delivering Domestic Abuse training to all staff at the hospital equipping them to recognise all forms of Domestic Abuse and ensuring they are confident in starting those conversations, and seeking additional support from the Mental Health IDVA.
· Risk assessing and helping to keep service users safe through safety planning.
· Enabling victims to access and engage with statutory and other services.
· Engaging with and supporting the MARAC process, to ensure that the voice of victims is heard.
· Managing a caseload of medium to high-risk victims and working proactively to support them and their families.
· Develop and maintain working relationships with additional services relevant to this field.
· Ensure services and resources are appropriate and tailored to services users needs.
· Support the relationship build between client and statutory services.
Key Responsibilities:
· Hold a caseload and provide high-quality telephone and face to face crisis intervention, information, advocacy and support to both staff and patients at the hospital who have been identified as victims of Domestic Abuse.
· Proactively assess the needs and risks of clients regularly in line with FearFree policies and procedures, having full regard for case management, MARAC and safeguarding adults and children policies and procedures.
· Complete risk and safety plans for all clients, ensuring risk management and safety is at the heart of everything we do in line with company standards.
· Ensure all records comply with compliance and quality standards and information is recorded accurately and in a timely manner
· Engage with all relevant support agencies, acting as the “voice” of both staff and patient victims to seek support to address specific identified barriers.
· Support all caseload to access external support and sign-post where appropriate to enable caseload to engage with other organisations who can support them on their road to recovery.
· Work proactively to raise awareness of Domestic Abuse and upskill all staff within the hospital to be able to identify potential Domestic Abuse, and seek support from the Mental Health IDVA.
· Attend regular safeguarding and domestic abuse meetings within DPT and health related settings to discuss active cases as required by the manager.
· Proactively assess the needs and safety of any children of the client and ensure that any risks/needs identified are addressed directly with them, having full regard to Safeguarding Children’s policy and complying with the Local Safeguarding Children requirements.
· Advise clients of their rights and options for seeking help and support from other agencies, making referrals, attending appointments with them when required, co-ordinating the provision of multi-agency support where necessary, and proactively advocating to ensure barriers to accessing support and protection are reduced.
· Proactively look for and implement innovative and creative ways of engaging vulnerable and hard to reach victims, particularly those with multiple needs, and sustain the engagement.
· Participate in multi-agency conferences and meetings in respect of children and adults at risk as required, providing reports and undertaking actions as necessary.
· Work in partnership with key agencies, particularly with external support agencies, to ensure effective joint working.
· At all times protect the safety and security of service users, staff, volunteers and buildings, and the confidentiality of records and other information in line with data protection requirements.
· To be flexible with meeting clients which may involve working outside of normal working hours.
· Produce data, reports, evaluations and undertake research, as requested and directed by the Manager.

Location: Birmingham/hybrid

Salary: Untrained ISVA: £29,777 pro rata, accredited ISVA: £31,365 pro rata

The Role
You will provide support as an ISVA for children and young people (CYP). You will offer compassionate, confidential, support to CYP of all genders, who have been subjected to sexual violence and abuse. Some of the work will be providing specialised wrap around support to children and their families where the child has been, or is currently being sexually exploited (CSE support). You will provide information about reporting processes; support CYP who have reported to the police; provide emotional support to CYP when they give their evidence in court and provide information about other options, such as civil action and Criminal Injuries Compensation.
An approved and accredited ISVA qualification is preferable for this post, and will start at the accredited salary rate. However, candidates who demonstrate and live the organisations values (bold-believing-big hearted), and have a willingness to work towards ISVA accreditation will also be considered.
About You
Ideally, you will have previous or current experience within a specialist rape and sexual abuse organisation, supporting children and young people’s (CYP) victims/survivors of sexual violence and abuse.
You will also have experience of:
- Supporting 13-16 year olds, a group at high risk of sexual violence, sexual abuse, sexual exploitation and sexual coercion.
- The impacts of sexual violence and abuse
- Working pro-actively, and advocating for adult survivor voices and needs
- Working with a range of agencies
- Child safeguarding issues, child sexual exploitation (CSE), legislation and best practice
- Understanding of the need and ability to maintain professional notes and records of their interactions and interventions with clients

This is a new opportunity to join our Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) team.

RASASC is a registered charity which has been providing support to survivors of rape and sexual abuse of all genders (both recent and non-recent) and young people aged over 13, from across Surrey since 1992.
We provide an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) Service. ISVAs support survivors to help them overcome the abuse they have suffered and to rebuild their lives. This service also includes supporting the survivor to seek justice through the judicial system, should the survivor wish.
We also provide one-to-one counselling, group work, youth counselling and a family support programme, and a national telephone helpline and live chat service.
Volunteers are an important part of the work we do. Volunteers staff our Helpline and many of our qualified counsellors work on a voluntary basis with survivors of rape and sexual abuse.
ISVA
ISVAs are survivor-focused advocates, who support survivors of recent and non-recent rape and sexual abuse to enable them to access the services they need in the aftermath of the abuse they have experienced. An ISVA provides individual support and this will vary from client to client.
This role is based at the RASASC Guildford office and will work across Surrey. The ISVA must have a full driving licence and use of a car that can be used for work purposes.
You will be part of a dedicated, experienced, and friendly team consisting of nine ISVAs. The ISVAs meet fortnightly for peer support and work collaboratively with each other to share knowledge. Each ISVA has a lead area of responsibility in addition to your caseload supporting a range of clients.
You will be provided with monthly clinical supervision and attend monthly one-to-one meetings with the ISVA team leader.
Job Description
- To support survivors of rape and sexual abuse.
- It is the responsibility of the ISVA to impartially advise the client on all options open to them, such as the Criminal Justice System, SARC, GUM clinic and other local services.
- The ISVAs are expected to balance a caseload that includes survivors progressing through the criminal justice process as well as survivors that have decided not to report, or who are no longer in the criminal justice process.
- The ISVA will be based at Guildford RASASC but will be expected to travel throughout Surrey.
- The ISVA is expected to carry out other duties from time to time which are broadly consistent with those in this document, as the job description cannot cover every issue which may arise within the post.
Key Tasks
· The ISVA will provide a survivor-focused, independent service, distinct from the role of a crisis worker or counsellor.
· Undertake risk assessment and support needs analysis with survivor and develop a support plan for the survivor.
· To provide advice and support across a wide range of issues, such as housing, health and education, that will help to support the survivor and ensure their ongoing safety in the aftermath of the abuse.
· Manage caseload and maintain necessary case files and records including monitoring information as required under funding conditions and by RASASC.
· To provide expert advice and support in relation to issues and the impact of rape and sexual abuse on this client group to other members of the ISVA team as well as the wider RASASC team.
· The ISVA will be required to undertake accredited training specifically designed to support them in delivering this service. This training is held in Manchester and is delivered over six module. Each module is taught over two consecutive days to minimise the amount of time ISVAs are away. Currently this training is delivered virtually although this may change.
- Fulfil relevant monitoring processes as requested by the ISVA Team Leader or the Fundraising Manager.
- To attend monthly one to one supervision with team leader and fortnightly clinical supervision.

This role is part of the Devon Domestic Abuse Service which provides support to high and medium risk victims of domestic abuse and their families.
This exciting new specialist role of Housing IDVA is designed to support victims of Domestic Abuse to remain safe in their own accommodation or secure suitable new housing.
The main tasks for this role include:
- Managing a caseload of high risk victims, providing specialist support around housing.
- Acting as a link person between the local authority housing teams, our Domestic Abuse services in Devon, supported accommodation and refuges.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Community Outreach Worker to provide high quality personal welfare support service to survivors of domestic violence and other forms of violence and abuse including those at the point of crisis. In this role the key responsibilities will be working within a multiagency framework to develop referral, joint working and information sharing protocol.

Using a gender and trauma-informed approach, the Outreach & Engagement Worker will deliver 2-4 daytime outreach sessions per week in Manchester alongside partners, colleagues and volunteers. They will also attend the Street Engagement Hub weekly to provide specialist support to women attending this multi-agency hub. They will provide brief interventions and casework support to women supporting their needs holistically.

About the Role
- Located at a 24-hour supported housing service in Clapham, we provide high quality self-contained accmmodation for 15 women who have experienced homelessness and multiple disadvantage.
- The aim of the service is to provide a therapeutic environment in which women feel safe and can flourish, enabling them to move on into independent, permanent accommodation. The accommodation also includes overnight safe spaces.
- In this role, you will provide direct support to all the women, as well as holding a small case load of residents who you will keywork.
- You will work closely with support workers and the in-house psychologist.

The Role
In April 2021 the Domestic Abuse Act received Royal Assent. The Act introduces a new civil Domestic Abuse Protection Notice (DAPN) to provide immediate protection following a domestic abuse incident, and a new civil Domestic Abuse Protection Order (DAPO) to provide flexible, longer-term protection for victims. DAPOs can impose both prohibitions and positive requirements on perpetrators. We were commissioned by the Home Office to design a triage model that will assess individuals for the suitability of these interventions; this triage model will be rolled out in the pilot sites which are going live in May 2024 and will be tested and evaluated in order to prepare for national roll out in 2026.The Programme Manager will oversee the roll out and delivery of the DAPO pilot Triage Model.

Strategic leadership

Representation
- To act as lead representative for CARA in the Synergy Essex Rape Crisis Partnership, developing strong working relationships with the other partners and negotiating CARA’s role, responsibilities and the financial allocations it receives from the partnership.
- To keep up-to-date with current developments affecting victims and survivors of sexual violence and ensure that CARA responds appropriately to these developments.
- To be the chief spokeswoman for CARA, responding to media and other enquiries as appropriate and playing a pro-active role in bringing relevant issues to the attention of the public, issuing press releases and initiating debate, as appropriate.
- Build, support and oversee strong relationships with individuals and organisations across the voluntary, public and private sectors, and in local and national government.
- To contribute to Rape Crisis England and Wales campaigns and other campaigns, as appropriate.
- To remain informed of national and regional Rape Crisis perspectives, drawing on Rape Crisis England and Wales expertise and resources as appropriate.
Organisational management
·Ensure policies and processes that support good communication, staff health and well-being, and safe and effective delivery of work are in place and adhered to throughout the organisation.

About Synergy Essex
CARA is part of Synergy Essex – the Essex Rape and Sexual Abuse Partnership. We work with SERICC Rape and Sexual Abuse Specialist Service and Southend-on-Sea Rape Crisis (SOS Rape Crisis) to deliver the contract for the Office for the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC) for Essex for services for victims and survivors of sexual violence and child sexual abuse across Essex, Southend and Thurrock. Synergy Essex also shares a number of other projects, funded by the Ministry of Justice, Essex County Council and the National Lottery Community Fund.
Our current PFCC contract ends in March 2025. Synergy Essex intends to submit a bid for the new contract, which is expected to be put out to tender in the summer of 2024.

The resettlement Floating Support Worker will provide resettlement support to residents moving out of the Amari Project and from Pan London refuges. You will provide fortnightly case work to residents in their move on accommodation.
