As a Support worker with The Hope Foundation, your primary responsibility will be providing ongoing support to our tenants and service users, while working with them through support plans and growth plans, towards independent living. 

The post-holder will: 

1. Provide support to tenants in line with project aims and goals, including but not limited to providing mentoring, advice, support plans, employment training, property searches, admin support and assistance with tenancy sustainability.

2. Work collaboratively with other projects of The Hope Foundation to achieve organisational goals. 

3. Oversee project volunteers, manage rotas, and provide project updates to partners. 

4. Assist with project and organisational administration. 

5. Work collaboratively with partner organisations to source additional support options, training opportunities, and tenant referrals. 

6. Be a port of call for tenants regarding property maintenance queries and issues. 

7. Provide support to clients accessing other charity services for support and advice. 

8. Treat clients with the respect they deserve and support all people without judgement or discrimination.

Duties and Responsibilities

(1) Client Support  

• Working with tenants through their individual development plans. 

• Provide encouragement, advice, and support to tenants. 

• Assist tenants with housing benefit applications, job searches and training.

• Liaise with agencies on behalf of tenants.

• Assist tenants with tenancy maintenance and basic life skills support. 

• Work with individuals seeking support through The Community Hope Project.

(2) Property Maintenance  

• Organise maintenance work within The Hope Foundation properties.

• Provide tenants with assistance in operating equipment and information regarding Health and Safety.

• Report any property or furniture damage/issues. 

(3) Administration  

• Keep tenant development plans, pen portraits, logs, and personal information up to date.

• Provide general admin support to organisation

Other duties

1. To work within other areas of the charity or undertake other duties not listed in this job description, as may be required from time to time. 

2. To attend all staff meetings. 

3. To attend all relevant training opportunities.

This role is part of the Devon Domestic Abuse Service which provides support to high and medium risk victims of domestic abuse and their families.

This exciting new specialist role of Housing IDVA is designed to support victims of Domestic Abuse to remain safe in their own accommodation or secure suitable new housing.

The main tasks for this role include:

• Managing a caseload of high risk victims, providing specialist support around housing.
• Acting as a link person between the local authority housing teams, our Domestic Abuse services in Devon, supported accommodation and refuges.
• Offering dedicated support to victims in Places of Safety.
• Providing specialist training and professional consultancy to partner agencies.

Job Purpose: Simon Community’s Public Affairs & Policy Manager will lead our efforts in advocating for policies and initiatives that end homelessness across NI. The postholder will develop research-based policy positions, identify and deliver clear opportunities for public and political engagement, and mobilise support from a range of stakeholders. The role

As Community Engagement Officer you will play a key role in ensuring the Foundation achieves its objectives of engaging with and increasing physical activity levels amongst the four key priority groups facing the greatest inequalities: low socio-economic groups, women and girls, disabled people and people with long term health conditions, and culturally diverse communities. This will predominantly be achieved through the critical support you will provide to our ambitious PlayZones Programme, as we continue to roll the programme out across priority areas of the Country.

We have an ambition to deliver in excess of 200 PlayZone facilities by 2025. To realise this ambition, we’re going to focus on investing in safe, inclusive, and accessible facilities in communities with the greatest need. We will tackle inequalities in physical activity levels and create inclusive opportunities for our priority groups to become active through recreational formats of football and other sports and activities.

With a great deal to do, the role will be pivotal in working with local groups to support them through the application process, and to ensure high quality projects are being developed based on local community need.

The role sits within the Football Foundation’s Delivery Team, the team responsible for strategic identification and capital project delivery, reporting to the Community Engagement Lead and with responsibility for a portfolio of PlayZone programme areas within one of the Delivery Team geographical regions.

You will provide critical support to applicants and work extremely closely with our network of Delivery Managers & Officers to advise and agree community engagement plans for a range of Over £25k projects – helping to ensure their engagement is robust, but that applicants also receive support and guidance as required throughout the development of their application.

Community Engagement Officers will champion the benefits of great engagement, capturing good practice, identifying successful approaches, and share knowledge and learning across the Foundation and other stakeholders.

What are we looking for?

You don’t need to follow football to apply, but it is expected that you appreciate the power of sport to change lives and have a genuine interest in using your skills and experience to help the Foundation achieve our charitable and strategic objectives.

You must be educated to HND/Degree standard, or with the equivalent experience, with knowledge of how sports development can be used for community benefit. You must have strong communication and interpersonal skills with experience of communicating with and supporting a diverse range of colleagues and customers remotely.

Your knowledge of place-based working and how to best reach and engage with local communities will be key for this role, as well as your understanding of the inequalities that exist in supporting active lives across socio economic groups, women & girls, individuals with a disability or a long-term health condition, and culturally diverse communities. You will be aware of and have experience of dealing with the operations and challenges faced by community organisations, charities, and the voluntary sector.

You must be highly organised, with working knowledge of different project management techniques and experience of managing multiple projects at the same time. While not essential, experience of producing robust reports and of using dashboards to monitor the progress of projects would be useful.

Job title: Flourish Community Outreach Worker

We have a vacancy for a Flourish (Refugee and Asylum Seekers) Comminity Outreach Worker to join our team, supporting refugees and asylum seekers in the community with multiple needs who have mental health as a primary need, through providing advice, information and holistic support.

Complex needs are defined by the National Complex Needs Alliance as a combination of health needs and social needs.

About the Service

‘Flourish’ is a highly flexible and responsive outreach service developed to meet the needs of refugees and asylum seekers in Hertfordshire. The aim of the service will be to support refugees and asylum seekers in the community with multiple needs who have mental health support as a primary need. 

Purpose of Post

• To provide advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients with mental ill health.
• Support to build social networks and reduce isolation whilst settling into the Hertfordshire community this includes building a sustainable and empowering peer support network and building confidence and self-esteem.
• To ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• Embed a person centred and solution focused approach in all aspects of the role.
• To work in a trauma informed way including awareness of the 6 principles of trauma informed practice, putting the clients emotional and practical needs at the forefront of this work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working closely with all key delivery partners across the system to ensure the service is responsive, inclusive and easy to access.
• To take allocated referrals from any agencies including the Community Navigators, Borough and District Councils, Herts Help, Housing Providers, Herts Welcomes Refugees, the Refugee Council and self-referrals including walk in contacts at any of the Mind wellbeing centres across the county.
• Hold a caseload of clients, supporting for approx. 10 weeks
• To create a safe space for the individual to be able to explore their feelings and improve their understanding around their mental health.
• To complete a holistic needs assessment.
• Ensure all person centred risk assessments and support plans are completed.
• Proactively recognise the indicators of deteriorating mental health and facilitate appropriate action, whilst liaising with relevant agencies.
• Support clients to build their emotional resilience, promoting self-management through building an understanding of their own triggers/coping strategies.
• To provide safeguarding intervention support. This will include responding to problems, which pose an immediate risk.
• To work alongside translators when required to provide a robust package of support for clients.
• To accompany clients to initial visits and appointments as necessary in order to ensure the sustained use of existing support services in the Borough.
• To provide advocacy services to clients experiencing mental ill health.
• To assist clients to access appropriate mental health services, housing/tenancy services and other services according to assessed needs.
• To establish effective pathways across a variety of agencies to maximise and provide effective partnership working, working with other third sector and VCSE organisations to provide signposting and continuity of care.

We’re looking for someone with a passion for influencing positive social change and a drive for empowering others to advocate for change.

Alongside student leaders and staff, the Social Policy Lead ensures that the Guild is an expert on the issues that affect Exeter students, so that student leaders are empowered to advocate for change and help all students to Love Exeter.

You will lead research into issues impacting students during their studies, such as such as housing, finances, health, wellbeing and safety, and share insights and knowledge with colleagues and students that enables them to drive belonging, provide support and empower students to make change. The role also plays a key part in ensuring colleagues and students have the skills to interpret policies and influence change.

Shepway Citizens Advice is seeking a new Chief Officer to replace the current very successful incumbent who intends to move on later this year.

The Chief Officer’s role is demanding and extremely rewarding – ensuring the organisation evolves to meet current challenges and leading its efforts to secure resources and work with partners to provide an excellent advice service for our community in Folkestone and Hythe and the surrounding area.

The Chief Officer will ensure that Shepway Citizens Advice continues to deliver free, independent, impartial and confidential advice services that meet the needs of our local community.

The Chief Officer will be responsible for leading and managing a team of paid staff and volunteers. The successful candidate will have proven leadership and management experience. They will be well-versed in strategic development and planning, financial and operational management, income generation, external relationships, and people management.  

The Chief Officer will promote and represent Shepway Citizens Advice by working actively and constructively with external partners and local agencies. They will need to maintain and develop our existing relationships with funders and identify new sources of funding and resources.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Wellbeing Support Worker to join our Flintshire Wellbeing service. This role does not provide direct basic care but is focused on motivating and supporting individuals to identify their own goals as well as developing self-management strategies to improve their health and wellbeing and maintain their independence.

This role will ensure that guided conversations are led by the individual and that they are at the centre of everything we do.This is a new service commissioned by Flintshire County Council on behalf of health and social care partners through the Welsh Government Regional Integration Fund. The service has been commissioned to fill a gap identified within existing service provision.

If you have an empathetic and compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their health and wellbeing, this role could be for you. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping individuals improve their overall well-being and make positive lifestyle changes following a recent hospital admission.

The Flintshire Wellbeing service aims to support individuals for a period of up to 6 weeks following hospital discharge. We work collaboratively with individuals to help them identify their strengths, overcome limiting beliefs, and develop practical strategies for achieving their goals at home and within their community.

A key element of this role will be to work with the individual and co-design a personalised action plan. From this information, meaningful functional goals and outcomes are developed with the individual, to promote wellbeing, autonomy, independence, and choice. This approach aims to ‘enable people to be and to do what they have reason to value’

About us

Room to Heal is a human rights charity and therapeutic community based in London. We support people who have survived torture and organised violence to rebuild their lives in exile, through an integrated programme of therapeutic and casework assistance. We offer a range of activities including: therapeutic support groups, gardening, individual therapy and casework, cooking and social gatherings, and therapeutic retreats.

At the heart of our work lies the cultivation of community, through which our members can restore meaningful relationships, overcome the legacy of their traumatic experiences and integrate into the UK. Our community is currently made up of over 100 members from over 30 countries: including former political prisoners; people who have been persecuted on account of their sexuality or religious belief; and those who have escaped trafficking.

Room to Heal is staffed by a team of committed individuals, who work hard but also recognise that a friendly, nurturing environment is crucial for all of our well-being. By joining Room to Heal you would also become a part of a small, close-knit, multi-cultural and inspiring community and be able to see first-hand the positive changes that your work enables in the lives of torture survivors.

About the role

Provide casework support to members of our community who need help with accessing housing, education, training and employment, benefits or asylum support, destitution and financial support, and support with accessing good immigration and asylum legal support. You will work closely with two other caseworkers, and a team of therapists. This role also includes supporting community activities during the week.

Hours: 3.5 days per week; Fridays essential
Contract: Fixed term until March 2027
