Since 2003, we have been harnessing the power of skiing & snowboarding to break down barriers, broaden horizons and address the biggest social issues facing underserved young people today.
The Programme Manager will deliver a personal development journey to young people using snowsports as the hook to engage those who are less likely to engage with mainstream provision. We do this in partnership with youth projects and youth service providers across London, running snowsports youth programmes from The Snow Centre, Hemel Hempstead.
This is a really exciting opportunity to play a key role in Snow Camp’s development in London. So, if you love working with young people and have solid experience delivering youth programmes, combined with a passion for snowsports – and if you are looking for a challenging and rewarding role working with a committed team of staff at Snow Camp and some amazing young people – this job could be the job for you!
Experience of working successfully with underserved young people in a range of settings will be essential to the post. Furthermore, experience within a snowsports field and passion for supporting young people generally will be a huge advantage!
Project management, logistical skills, relationship management, communication and presentation skills will all make up the job. Along with youth work experience to deliver life-skills or group workshops to motivate young people to work towards meaningful goals – these will all make up the job.
This is a key post requiring at least 2 years’ experience involving the above skills, together with proven project management and budgeting experience.

Our Sport Team has an exciting opportunity for you to join them, working in Camden and across London to engage those experiencing homelessness into physical activity and improving their quality of life.
About the role:
As a Sport Coordinator, you'll be responsible for planning and delivering varied activity sessions for both adults and young people across different services, both internally and externally. You will work closely with the Sport Manager to effectively coordinate support from freelancers and volunteers. Your role will extend to broadening the accessibility of sports and exercise within SHP's services and among its residents, for both adults and the young people we support. Additionally, you'll play a key part in growing the programmes reach, forging partnerships with similar organisations and charities, while also advocating for the significance of physical activity within the homeless community.
The approach taken with clients will be psychologically informed, incorporating an understanding of Personality disorder, complex trauma and addiction. The outcomes for your role include developing positive and sustained relationships of trust with clients supporting them to engage in regular physical activity, and see an improvement in their overall health.
About you:
- Demonstrable knowledge of fitness and sporting activities, application and implementation
- Sports and coaching qualifications relevant tot he sector.
- Demonstrable knowledge of motivating and supporting vulnerable adults and young people into sport and exercise.
- Ability to develop and deliver structured group-based physical activity sessions with both adults and young people.
- Ability to advocate for the importance of physical activity within our services.

The Marine Society & Sea Cadets (MSSC) is a vibrant and growing charity delivering life changing nautical adventure for young people through the Sea Cadets to give them the best possible head start in life. The Chief Instructor role:
We are looking for an inspirational Chief Instructor to lead our afloat activities programme at our Crosby Boat Station. As chief instructor you will develop and deliver activities across sailing, powerboating, windsurfing, paddle sports and rowing to cadet and adult members of the Sea Cadets. You will be responsible for managing a team of volunteers, casual instructors and cadet instructors to deliver a full programme of activities throughout the year, promoting positive, life changing experiences on the water.
We need passionate practitioners, who thrive in a varied environment, and are looking for a sense of fulfilment from working with young people and supporting our 4500 volunteers to deliver the Sea Cadet Experience.
Responsibilities as our Chief Instructor will include:.
- To act as Chief Instructor at the boat station.
- Develop and promote an activity programme for our young people.
- Manage the delivery of our all year round activity programme.
- Monitor standards of instruction and support the development of instructors.
- To be a role model and mentor for our Cadets and Volunteers.
- To be involved in the delivery of boating across the charity
- To be a technical advisor that our Volunteers can turn to for advice and guidance.
Requirements needed to become our Chief Instructor:
- Expert level knowledge and ability across a range of water sport disciplines.
- A demonstrable background in the delivery of high quality boating activities to a wide client base.
- A strong awareness of health and safety policy and regulation.
- Facilities management experience.

The Lead Instructor Role:
We’re looking for someone to join our team who is just as passionate as we are about getting young people outdoors to have an adventure as we are. You will have great leadership potential, be organised and able to organise others, and have plenty of instructing experience with a range of groups and activities. You’ll want to learn and be prepared to put in the work to and effort needed to develop as a practitioner and a manager.
Key responsibilities as our Lead Instructor:
- Coaching, mentoring and pastoral supervision of the instructing team
- Maintaining accurate records of staff training, assessment and competency, equipment and activity facilities, operating procedures and risk assessments
- Assisting with the creation of group programmes and staff timetables
- Ensuring relevant checks, processes and paperwork are maintained to meet external and internal accreditation standards - including management of equipment and PPE
- Delivering adventurous activity, and training to internal and external clients
- Monitoring the safety and quality of activity sessions
- Working as a Duty Manager being the first point of contact for the daily operation of the centre on a rota basis; including managing the site team and any service crews, providing an ‘on call’ service during out of hours times for guests on centre, and support with first aid and safeguarding
- Assisting other staff, including taking bookings, checking in/out groups and liaising with guests

- Competent IT skills especially in office applications

The Chief Instructor role:
As the Chief Instructor you will be a driving force for the quality delivery of training at the centre. You will be instrumental in facilitating and delivering life changing, positive experiences for our young people. We operate 11 training venues across the UK, this includes eight boat stations and three training centres for our 15,000 young people. We are looking for someone who will deliver and support high quality land based, face to face and virtual training to both our cadets and volunteers, creating a highly impactful national training experience for our cadets guided by the customs and traditions of the Royal Navy. You will lead volunteers and sessional instructors to ensure high quality delivery and manage the day to day training, whilst ensuring the health, safety and safeguarding of all whom you are training. You will work closely with the Centre Manager to support the day to day operations.
Responsibilities as our Chief Instructor will include:.
- Organising and delivering high quality face to face and virtual training for cadets (and volunteers)
- Supervising delivery of courses by others and ensuring that we adhere to National Governing Body standards and any other existing regulations are adhered to.
- Assisting the Centre Manager to ensure that all activities at the facility are conducted in a safe manner, and that all sessional instructors or volunteers are appropriately briefed, qualified and trained.
- Deputising for the Centre Manager in their absence.
Requirements needed to become our Chief Instructor:
- Experience working with groups of young people.
- Experience of delivery high quality youth and adult training.
- Understanding and awareness of youth safeguarding and supporting young people’s wellbeing.
- The ability to plan, organise and supervise delivery of training.

We are looking for someone with the knowledge, experience and qualifications in Watersports and the below are essential for this role.
- Paddlesport Minimum one of: Canoe/ Kayak Sheltered Water Coach, Touring Leader, Paddlesport Leader
- We would consider someone who holds: Sailing Instructor and Powerboat Instructor award alongside a lower paddlesports qualification with the view to upskill the paddlesport award as soon as possible
- Desirable: PB2, Dinghy Instructor, or sailing experience
