• Supporting on the planning and delivery of organic social media campaigns across all aspects of the charity’s work

Person specification:

• Experience creating content (including Reels for Instagram) for and managing social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn
• Experience with social media reporting tools
• Knowledge and understanding of social media best practice and following latest trends
• Excellent writing, copy-editing and proofreading skills, with an eye for detail and a strong command of the English language
• Knowledge and understanding of digital technologies, an interest in social media and commitment to continuous professional development and learning

The purpose of this job is to contribute to the delivery of Mind's media strategy in Wales.

This includes securing target levels of media coverage and building and maintaining contacts with Welsh and English language journalists across national, local and trade media in Wales. About This Job

ACCT UK launched its new name and brand in 2021 and we are now seeking a highly motivated Marketing Manager to continue the delivery of our engagement programme. We are looking for you to bring enthusiasm, personal credibility, discretion and sensitivity in promoting the charity to its beneficiaries and a wide range of stakeholder groups.

As ACCT UK’s Marketing Manager, you will be key to helping the wider community to understand our charity and how it is distinct from the Army Cadets, a youth organisation we are closely linked to.

This is a rewarding and flexible role. The position is a permanent full time post (40 hours per week) which can be either home or office based. The successful applicant will be required to travel occasionally.  The full time starting annual salary for this post is £34,190.73.

Our charity

ACCT UK is a national youth charity dedicated to improving the life chances of young people. We want to ensure that every young person has the opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence and be inspired through their Army Cadet experience. We want to develop the youth leadership and training abilities of adult volunteers in the Army Cadets.

Working alongside our strategic partner, the British Army, we help young people to access cadet activity with the Army Cadets through a range of activities including fundraising, grant making, developing new resources and direct support to the Army Cadets.

We also know that when young people engage with others at a range of levels in their communities it builds confidence and improves empathy for other’s lives.

Are you a confident, motivated and ambitious individual with a proven track record delivering effective campaigns, ideally within the animal welfare sphere? Or, do you have proven experience of using policy, research, lobbying, stakeholder networking and media to influence the public, government, law enforcement and industry? If this is you, we want to hear from you!

Essential

· Passion for animals and enthusiasm for improving their lives, with evidence to support this.

· Minimum five years’ experience in project management, campaigns, lobbying or animal welfare law enforcement, investigations, or relevant experience, with a proven successful track record.

· Excellent communication skills - able to comfortably liaise with a wide range of people from supporters, journalists, internal teams to government officials including at in-person meetings and in delivering presentations to small and larger audiences.

· Adept at using a range of different communication channels for promotion of campaigns, including working with colleagues to develop website content, direct mail, email, social media, blogs and articles.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in tailoring messages for different audiences.

· Ability to plan, prioritise, work under pressure and to deadlines.

· Public affairs experience and/or ability to understand government & political process decision-making and ability to draft written responses to government/regulatory consultations with support from internal team.

· Experience in researching and writing evidence-based reports.

· Hard working, motivated and with a can-do attitude.

· Robust and able to handle sensitive, sometimes distressing information regarding animal welfare.

· Ability to manage staff, contractors and volunteers as required.

· Sound ability to use a variety of IT applications, including MS Teams.

· Commitment to the objectives of the charity.

Desirable

· Fundraising experience/an understanding of the supporter journey.

· Knowledge of UK wildlife crime and animal welfare legislation.

· Line management experience.
