Role Overview:
The Head of Marketing & Sales plays a pivotal role in driving the organisation’s growth. You will develop and execute multi-channel strategies delivered across the funnel from enhancing brand visibility and generating leads, nurturing leads to conversion, right the way through to supporting customer retention and advocacy. This varied role offers the opportunity to expand market reach with our current services, as well as helping launch new products into existing and untapped markets, while delivering a strong RoI.
As well as being a commercial and strategic leader you will need to be a hands-on problem solver, ready to roll your sleeves up to support a small team to deliver where needed. You will be pivotal in ensuring we achieve our mission and deliver impact for post-16 students.
You will report directly to the Chief Revenue Generation Officer who leads the revenue team, comprising of digital marketing and content specialists as well as membership support staff.

- Membership engagement and growth: Developing and executing strategic marketing and sales strategies to drive member engagement, growth and retention with our flagship membership and subscription services.
- Brand positioning and visibility: Ensuring we have a powerful brand that punches above its weight to increase market share, drive competitive advantage and to position the organisation as a thought leader within the sector.
- Marketing analysis and segmentation: Conducting market analysis/research within existing and untapped markets to uncover insights to segment audiences and tailor marketing messaging and activities effectively to drive conversions.
- Digital marketing: Overseeing digital marketing strategies, including website optimisation, email marketing, search marketing and social media marketing to drive traffic and conversion across the funnel stages.
- Content and creativity: Oversea content strategy and creation across various formats and channels, ensuring innovation and creativity to stand out in a crowded market.
- Data-driven decision making: Using analytics to test strategies, measure results and generate insights in order to iterate and improve performance, tracking key metrics and leading the team to deliver and report against agreed KPIs.
- Budgeting and resource management: Tracking spend, ensuring cost effective allocation of resources and reporting on RoI.
- Leadership and collaboration: Leading and mentoring the team to perform against growth and revenue targets as well as collaborating with other departments to ensure a unified approach.
Essential experience and skills
- Extensive experience in a similarly commercial marketing and sales role with a proven track record in driving revenue growth.

What you will do:
Support the Fundraising team to uphold a high level of supporter care with a view to retention and increased engagement.
Efficiently and accurately process and reconcile all incoming donation information, received daily, weekly and monthly from multiple digital sources, onto our database and acknowledge these within agreed timescales.

Distribute all parcels in a timely manner, making sure everything is recorded accurately.
To be successful in this role you will have:
English and Maths GCSE or equivalent grade C or above
Previous experience providing dedicated administration support.
Experience of handling sensitive information appropriately

The apprenticeship programme is due to start in September 2024, provided by the Juice Academy - an industry-led apprenticeship provider. They are partnered with Jane Montague Consultancy to deliver the 13-15 month Fundraiser Level 3 programme. Apprentices work on the job within a charity whilst receiving 20% off the job training from current industry experts. The training sessions are a hybrid of face-to-face learning (two optional in-person days) in Manchester, and virtual half-day classrooms via Zoom. Apprentices also receive the on-the-job training in the workplace. About the role
The Corporate Partnerships Manager role is responsible for delivery across the breadth of the partnerships pipeline. An estimated 50% of the role will be devoted to new business development, including prospect identification, and shaping and delivering pitches and proposals to corporates and their foundations to meet fundraising targets. The remaining 50% of partnership work will be dedicated to delivering an excellent standard of partnership management to several longstanding existing supporters, working creatively to identify and develop opportunities to maximise their impact.
As our corporate supporters can be powerful partners in the delivery of our advocacy and communications goals you will be confident working with colleagues internally to translate campaign plans into engagement opportunities for private sector partners. You will also be able to co-ordinate colleagues to meet new business deadlines and to ensure agreed partnership deliverables are achieved.
This role sits within our Philanthropy and Partnerships team of five, who focus on income generation through grants, philanthropy, corporate partnerships and individual giving and fundraising. The post holder will work particularly closely with the Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships, as well as equipping Directors and our CEO to engage corporate partners and prospects where appropriate. As a member of a comparatively small, highly ambitious team, there may, with time, be opportunities for the post holder to extend their experience beyond corporate partnerships, into other fundraising areas, should your skill set meet an identified need.

You may be an established corporate fundraiser seeking a role where you can take on greater responsibility for managing your own pipeline of prospects and key partnerships. Equally you may come from outside the sector and be able to offer clearly transferable experience of securing and developing partnerships (especially those with a “purpose” focus).

The Role
This is a new role which will be focused on a specific project to initially set up and support our member led Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) task group and subgroups. These task groups, with your support, will lead the direction that our EDI membership initiatives take. One of the primary core initiatives will be the delivery of a mentoring scheme for our members with an inclusivity focus.
To be shortlisted for this post, you must have:
• Excellent Project Management skills and experience
• Demonstratable knowledge of the EDI space, leading practises and ideologies
• Previous experience of working with members/volunteers including in an advisory and secretariat capacity.
• An understanding of and preferably experience of managing mentoring schemes.
Experience of working in a membership organisation or knowledge of the engineering profession would be advantageous.

Community Advice Works is an established community charity based in New Cross in South
East London. As the only charity in the London Borough of Lewisham offering a general
drop-in advice service, we are a critical source of support to vulnerable residents. We have
built a strong reputation within the Borough for providing high quality, independent, person-
centred welfare and housing advice. The organisation employs several part-time staff and
has a team of volunteers. In addition to providing advice we currently deliver a domestic
violence project at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital.
Like many charities in the advice sector, CAW is going through a process of change. We are
looking for an experienced and community-driven individual with a strong set of managerial
and interpersonal skills, preferably with a background in advice work, to maintain the strong
structures and reputation for excellence that we have developed.
As service manager, you will work with our friendly staff and trustee team to deliver our vital
service. We pride ourselves on providing a flexible, inclusive and rewarding work

Key duties
- Staff and volunteer management
- Line manage staff by providing support and supervision as needed, conducting regular performance reviews, and identifying staff training needs
- Oversee recruitment, training, and management of volunteers to ensure they are properly supported and equipped to help meet CAW’s service goals
Service delivery
- Ensure high quality and timely service delivery in line with the Service Level Agreements with our various service partners

- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a managerial role
