World Obesity Federation is seeking an Events Coordinator to join their team as maternity cover.
World Obesity Federation (WOF) is a worldwide federation with over 100 members and takes a holistic view of obesity from cause and prevention to treatment. WOF is a lead partner to global agencies on obesity, including WHO, and a member of the Global Obesity Coalition.
This position will begin assisting the Events Manager with the events programme and continue as maternity cover in 2025. Main responsibilities will include managing the educational events programme including in person obesity management training courses ‘Scope Schools’ as part of the SCOPE e-learning site held regularly throughout the year, and monthly educational webinars, alongside the Head of Education.
Also working with Head of Policy on medium sized events such as the Global Obesity Forum in person in New York in September 2025, and other smaller policy and fundraising meetings throughout the year. Also included in the role is managing webinars for World Obesity Day and other campaign days.
It will also involve managing the planning of the bi-annual congress the International Congress on Obesity to be held in Mexico City June 2026, overseeing the work of the PCO and organising committees to ensure development is on schedule and key milestones are achieved.
Essential skills and experience - experience of managing medium sized global events and conferences on an international scale, working with global stakeholders. Excellent administration and organisational skills, right to work in the UK and able to travel internationally on a regular basis.

About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Community Fundraiser to join our Community Fundraising team. Community is at the heart of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, and our community fundraising team play a vital role in building relationships and raising funds across our community and catchment. Shooting Star Children’s Hospices is a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. We support families across Surrey and London from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.
As a key member of our Community Fundraising team, you will work closely with the Community Fundraising Manager on new and existing fundraising activities, helping to maintain and develop existing relationships and work proactively to identify new contacts and opportunities for development. This is an exciting role, in a growing team within a charity that makes a huge impact across our communities. The Direct Marketing Manager, Retention, is a newly developed role at the DEC, responsible for shaping and delivering new and existing supporter journeys for DEC individual, community and legacy donors, and leading a programme of improvement across all major contact points between the DEC and the public.
The Direct Marketing Manager, Retention will:
- Contribute to and develop DEC direct marketing strategies, including the refreshing, implementation and analysis of the DEC’s segmentation, to maximise future income and continually improve the retention of individual supporters for future emergency appeals,
- Lead on the production of retention and reporting back materials for individual and community supporters,
- Manage the development and maintenance of specific supporter journeys,
- Develop and oversee the materials and supporter positioning for a light touch and mainly reactive legacy marketing programme for the DEC.
Key responsibilities include:
Strategy and Planning
- Develop and implement the direct marketing retention strategy, ensuring that past learnings are built upon, and new ideas are tested.
- Develop and implement specific audience journeys for segments across both the life cycle of a DEC appeal and between appeals.
- Ensure timely and relevant communications to all direct marketing, community, and legacy audiences on the impact of their donations.
- Build an improved supporter journey strategy for new, repeat, and lapsed donors.
- Lead, design, and monitor the collection of audience insight during appeals.
Fundraising
- Develop the DEC’s donor journeys for individuals and community supporters, monitoring the development of segments and the engagement of repeat donors.
- Provide analysis during and following an appeal of performance to measure and report performance against key indicators and develop recommendations for improving impact in the next appeal.
- Support the stewardship of community fundraisers and groups in conjunction with the Supporter Services team.
Networking and building relationships
- Develop excellent working relationships with the DEC’s suppliers including creative agencies, media agencies, SMS and email suppliers, and the print/mailing house.
- Work with permanent and temporary staff at the DEC during appeals to maximise the success of the appeal.

Principle Duties and Areas of Responsibility
Operational Leadership and Governance
- Overall accountability for the operations of the foundation
- Oversee and optimise internal processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity

Financial Management
- Oversee the development and monitoring of the financial strategy for the organisation, providing recommendations, information and guidance to the Trustees and Executive team to inform decision making
- Maintain and review polices and processes to ensure good financial controls are in place that meet both legal and tax requirements. This includes maintaining appropriate records and controls over restricted funds to ensure that these are used and reported appropriately
- Support the Finance Manager and Executive team in setting FNF’s annual budget, with robust analysis and justification of intended expenditure, financial forecasts, cashflow etc. securing active engagement and ownership from all internal budget holders
- Oversee the financial reports required to review progress against plans and forecasts throughout the year and ensuring these are disseminated and understood across the organisation
- Accountable for regular financial updates to Trustees including the Finance Investment Committee (FIC) and Board meetings along with the preparation of the financial aspects of the annual report and accounts
- Oversee the management and development of VAT reporting for FNF and trading subsidiary
- Oversee the financial aspect of FNF Global delivery to ensure compliance with HMRC
Systems and controls
- Lead in the development, implementation and monitoring of effective procurement systems and procedures, ensuring that FNF achieves best value and drives efficiencies through our external contracts
- Lead on the annual audit in accordance with current practice and the Charity Commissions Standard of Recommended Practice (SORP), liaising and managing the relationship with the auditors

About the Role: The Head of PMO will be responsible for leading and managing the Project Management Office (PMO) within the organisation. London National Park City is looking for a highly collaborative Community Director to join our growing team. You will help us develop and enhance the way all Londoners can participate every day in making our city greener, healthier and wilder.
London National Park City is the long term grassroots movement for everyone making London greener, healthier and wilder. London became the world's first National Park City in 2019 with aim of making our city a place where people and nature are better connected.
This new senior role will be responsible for developing a deeply participatory approach to what it means to be part of the London National Park City community and movement. You will draw upon the wealth of experiments, storytelling, and community programming which has already taken place, and shape the next stage of how we build our movement, and support grassroots communities in every neighbourhood of London.
The core of this role will be the stewardship of our Ranger programme, supporting our community of volunteer Rangers, along with recruiting and managing local Ranger Coordinators in a number of London Boroughs as funding is secured. Role Responsibilities
- Lead digital donor acquisition activities and journeys across a variety of channels including paid social, paid search, display, email and telemarketing.

- Support and/or lead on a range of other fundraising activities, campaigns and events.
- Identifying new events, opportunities and approaches that could raise significant funds for halow.
Role Requirements:
- We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, hard-working, flexible and keen to make a difference.
- Demonstratable experience of working a fundraising role or comparable role.
- Experience working with internal and external stakeholders, including staff, trustees, donors, and funders.
- Experience of delivering projects and fundraising targets.
- Knowledge of data security whist ensuring databases are kept up to date.
- Aged 18 and above.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Suitable references.
- Willing to undertake a DBS Check. The initial cost of the DBS application will be paid for by halow.
