About the role:

As a Maintenance Contracts Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring our contracted suppliers provide high quality, reliable services to our supported housing schemes, to ensure clients have safe, good quality accommodation they can call home.

In your role, you will lead on tender and procurement processes to secure contracts with suppliers that deliver reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality services. You will be responsible for ensuring all contracted suppliers hold relevant qualifications, health and safety and, insurance requirements at the point of tender and throughout the contract period.

You will work with the wider maintenance team to respond to queries from our supported housing colleagues related to contracted services.

• You’ll bring experience of contract administration and monitoring the performance of contracted suppliers, with the ability to implement and manage supplier performance improvement plans.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

We are seeking an experienced and influential leader to join us as our new Chief Executive.  You will play a critical role in leading the organisation and representing PATA and its members in the ever-evolving Early Education and Children’s Play sectors.

PATA is the largest voluntary sector provider of support to the Early Years and Play (Out of School) sector in Gloucestershire.  We are a Charity based in Gloucester with around 170 member settings and manage five of our own Early Years settings (PATA Managed Groups (PMGs)).  Our mission is to support the development of high quality and accessible early education, play and provision for children, young people and their families.

At its heart, PATA is a people-based organisation and you will be joining a strong and committed team, both in the Head Office and the PMGs.  You will lead the organisation, working with the Board of Trustees in setting the strategic vision, mission and priorities.  You will be a voice for PATA and its members, building partnerships, participating in consultation processes, and challenging policy and other initiatives for the benefit of the sector, as and when appropriate.

The role is part time, 21 hours per week, 42 weeks annually, to be worked flexibly to meet business need, as agreed with the Chair of Trustees and in association with the Senior Management Team. Assisting with the delivery of our Community Fundraising strategy, you will focus on marketing our portfolio of Community Fundraising products to ensure we meet recruitment, income and expenditure targets.

You will deliver our campaigns using various channels like digital, telephone, face-to-face and print to spread the word and track progress. Contributing to our social media and promotional plans will also be part of your remit.

Rainbow Migration, the longest-running charity in Europe dedicated to supporting LGBTQI+ people through the asylum and immigration system, is recruiting a Legal Officer to advise and help improve the representation of LGBTQI+ people seeking asylum, and help change the asylum and immigration system to one that treats everyone with compassion, dignity and respect.

We are looking for a qualified solicitor or barrister with valid practising certificate, or already accredited to Level 3 OISC, with two years’ experience in providing advice and representation in asylum including working in legal aid.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the legal advice service. Under the guidance of our Legal Service Manager, you will also build capacity amongst legal representatives by designing and delivering training, giving second tier advice and developing and coordinating a network of practitioners working in this area. You will use the knowledge you gain in this role to help deliver Rainbow Migration’s policy work, such as inputting into policy papers and meeting with partner organisations when required.

We will also consider applications from people who do not want to do the policy elements of the job, but to instead focus on first and second tier advice. Please mention in your covering letter if you are applying for this option.

This is a unique opportunity to build on your experience as a lawyer to improve representation across the sector and create change in government policy and practice. You will be supported to develop as a specialist lawyer and in your policy skills.

Responsibilities will include:

· Deliver one-off advice to adult LGBTQI+ people seeking asylum and work with colleagues to refer them to quality legal aid and pro bono lawyers

· Provide casework assistance e.g. helping to prepare witness statements, making referrals to other specialist organisations and taking other urgent steps (whilst not representing service users or maintaining a caseload)

· Provide occasional advice (within competence) on other issues affecting asylum and partnership service users such as asylum support, legal aid, trafficking, family reunion or community care

· Deliver second tier advice to the legal representatives of LGBTQI+ people seeking asylum and other charities and professionals

· Work with the Legal Service Manager to design and deliver training to lawyers, NGOs and other professionals

· Write blogs and articles on asylum and immigration policy and legislation as they apply to LGBTQI+ people

· Contribute to policy and briefing papers

· Assist with preparing guidelines and briefings for legal services and pro bono lawyers

The Legal Officer will not be providing direct legal representation of service users. However, the role includes substantive advice and casework within the scope of legal support and referrals for our service users, as well as merits testing and second tier advice.

Salary: Starting at £40,175, with potential annual step increases up to £44,868 (pro-rata for part-time employees), plus statutory employer’s pension contribution. In addition to an annual step increase, the trustees consider giving a separate inflationary increase every April. 

Location: Remote or from Rainbow Migration’s offices in central London. Hybrid working will also be considered. The successful candidate could work from anywhere in the UK but would be expected to occasionally travel to London and other parts of the country for meetings and events. Elders Voice is an established and trusted charity in the heart of Kensal Green. The individual will have attained a BSc or equivalent level, and have demonstrable experience in leadership and people management. They will have a broad understanding of the food (or associated) sector (and preferably experience working in the sector). Ideally, the individual will already have experience managing or running a charity, and so will have a practical understanding of charity governance best practice. 

With multiple activities from publishing through to professional recognition and from scientific and technical events and communication through to supporting the next generation of talent, the Institute is looking for a leader who can work creatively and yet in a focussed way to ensure all these activities are progressed.

Ideally, they will have previously worked for a professional membership body and are likely to have experience in the food sector.

Main Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Development:

• Providing strong and visible strategic leadership for the Trust as a whole, both internally and externally
• Directing, inspiring and motivating staff and volunteers
• Supporting and working with the Senior Management Team on the development and implementation of the Trust’s long-term strategy, through development and delivery of annual business plans and associated budgets and KPIs
• Providing strong financial and budgetary management oversight and focus the development of diverse and sustainable income sources

• Role modelling the values and behaviours of Gwent Wildlife Trust to continue developing a positive high-performance culture

External Relations and People Contacts:

• Be a persuasive and influential advocate, raising the profile of Gwent Wildlife Trust, The Wildlife Trusts, and the importance of nature in solving society’s challenges
• Develop and enhance relationships with key stakeholders and strategic partners
• Support the Senior Management Team to develop contacts with key stakeholders and develop strategic partnerships
• Engage with key decision-makers including SMs, MPs, Local Authorities, local councillors, corporate leaders, and community champions, to position the Trust and promote its objectives
• Support the Senior Management Team with major fundraising initiatives
• Co-operate and collaborate with the The Wildlife Trust central team, other Wildlife Trusts in Wales and across the UK

Organisational and Operational Management to include:

• Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with the Chairman, Honorary Officers and Trustees to ensure lawful and effective governance
• Lead the Trust’s Senior Management Team including holding monthly one to one meeting and annual appraisals
• Oversee financial management systems, ensuring the timely preparation and effective achievement of annual budgets
• Co-develop and deliver an annual Business Plan which aligns with the 2030 Strategy
• Oversee compliance with all statutory requirements (including Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities, Employment Law, GDPR, etc.)

Kingston Voluntary Action (KVA) is a long-established and well-respected infrastructure support organisation for the voluntary and community sector in Kingston. • Our relationships generate national and local engagement that helps us to advocate about the issues and practice that can enable high-quality careers support for young people across policy debate and delivery.
• We raise awareness of our work to the extent that our Government and parliamentary stakeholders can articulate what we do and why it matters nationally as well as locally in constituencies across the country.
• We initiate and hold strong relationships across Westminster, maintaining a robust management system to track and monitor engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Working with the Department of Education (DfE) (our sponsor department) to help us build strong relationships with relevant DfE ministers, officials and their teams.
• Engaging and building policy-led relationships across wider Government – to enable cross-departmental engagement about CEC’s work.
• Building and maintaining cross-parliamentary support – to increase our awareness and support amongst key MPs and Peers and to respond well to their inquiries and commissions.
• Internal team operations – acting as CEC’s lead for internal government and parliamentary briefing to support the CEO and senior colleagues’ visits, meetings and engagements.

• Proven experience of engaging through the policy process – (1) developing policy ideas and (2) responding to consultations and briefing requests.

• Communicate well (written and verbal) – confidently and with salience and the ability to not just report moments but offer context and direction. Competent and assured in providing sound counsel to senior colleagues.
• Analytical skills – you will be engaging data and evidence generated from CEC’s work and externally, and will be required to interpret findings and make and communicate connections in an understandable and interesting way.
• Collaborative and good at building relationships at all levels, both internally and with a range of external stakeholders.
• Adaptable, resilient and flexible with the ability to deal with complexity and ambiguity and work at pace.

Exeter-based cancer charity, Force, is well known and much loved for its incredible work supporting people who have had a cancer diagnosis and their families with a range of support.  Their longstanding CEO is now retiring and the search has begun to find that special person to leader the charity into the future.  We are delighted and honoured to be supporting the Board with this important appointment.

The current CEO has worked hard to ensure that the nurturing and caring aspect of the charity’s work is reflected across the organisation.  You can see this in the way that everyone is treated – clients, families, staff, volunteers, supporters and trustees.  We are looking for someone who understands and upholds these values but equally has the resilience and clarity of thought to navigate through the complex landscape of cancer services and support.  You will have held a senior leadership role within the voluntary sector for at least two years and understand the legal framework within which charities operate.  Previous experience of working with a voluntary Board of trustee/directors will be hugely helpful and, naturally, you will be financially astute. 

Of course, you will be an inspiring and confident communicator, able to engage with and present to a range of audiences as well as working with local media.
