Oswestry Community Action, otherwise known as Qube, is a registered charity based in Oswestry, Shropshire.

Qube’s aim is to improve the quality of life for people in Oswestry, Shropshire and the Welsh borders, through the provision of Community Transport Services, a Volunteer Centre, Arts and Culture, Shop mobility and Care services.

The role:

The Marketing & Communications Officer will be responsible for the day to day marketing functions, with the aim of increasing the profile and understanding of the organisation within the town of Oswestry and wider communities of Shropshire and the Welsh borders, along with supporting the strategic development of this valued organisation.

Main Duties:

1. To be responsible for the implementation and ongoing development of the organisation’s Marketing plan.

2. Working alongside the Qube staff team develop and implement marketing plans with each department to ensure a consistent and professional approach to the marketing of the organisation.

3. Management of the organisation’s website, including ongoing development of the site, regular content updates and reporting of analytics to the officer’s line manager.

4. To be responsible for regular and relevant social media content on a wide variety of platforms, along with the monitoring of all sites and responding to queries and questions that are raised through the sites.

5. To develop and manage brand guidelines on behalf of the organisation and to ensure that all staff, trustees and volunteers adhere to the guidelines when representing the organisation.

6. To be responsible for the design, production and circulation of all printed materials on behalf of Qube.

7. Network and develop relationships with media outlets, providing press releases to them on a regular basis on the work of Qube.

8. To develop new ways of communicating the messages of Qube to potential customers, stakeholders, as well as to the general public.

9. Any other work as agreed with the Chief Officer or line manager.

Salary: Up to to £14,000 per annum for 22.5 hours per week.

Location: Oswestry, Shropshire.  Hybrid working available.

Hours: Part-time 22.5 hours per week (ideally 3 days a week).

CEASE is looking for an experienced policy officer with a passion for ending all forms of sexual exploitation. Reporting to the Head of Policy and Public Affairs, the role will entail political advocacy, relationship building across stakeholders, including Parliament and research and policy analysis.

You will also work closely with our Community Action team to empower our supporters to take action for nature through our advocacy campaigns and our wider Team Wilder work.

The role will sit within the External Relations team at GWT and will work with colleagues across the Trust and beyond, to develop and deliver compelling policy asks to influence our MPs and councillors, and support the development of the Trust’s advocacy campaigns, establishing us as leading experts and driving individuals and policy makers to take action for nature.

As our Senior Research & Participation Officer, you will be working on an exciting new project to improve primary care access for residents. Your flair for planning and logistics will enable you to both gather evidence about the experiences of Barnet residents, and to collate existing data. You’ll also be comfortable producing accessible how-to guidance, to enable people experiencing health inequalities to access services.

The role will involve building effective relationships with stakeholders including GP Practice Managers, voluntary sector organisations and NHS Integrated Care Board partners. You will work with these stakeholders constructively and persuasively, to seed partnership initiatives and achieve positive change for Barnet residents.

About Myaware

Myaware is the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to the care and support of people living with myasthenia.  

Myasthenia means muscle weakness. The myasthenias are a group of neuromuscular conditions including myasthenia gravis, ocular myasthenia, Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome and congenital myasthenic syndrome.

· We work to raise awareness of myasthenia, as it is a little-known condition.

· We provide support services for people living with myasthenia and their families. These include welfare advice, online support groups and webinars, social media peer support groups and support and information via telephone and email.

· We raise vital awareness and campaign for better medical services for people with myasthenia and work to inform medical professionals.

About the role

The Chief Executive Officer will provide strategic guidance and oversight, ensure operational efficiency and sustainability, and maintain the organisation's commitment to serving the myasthenia community.

We are looking for a Chief Executive officer who is passionate about the mental health of our communities.  They will lead Riverside Counselling Service in defining and delivering its strategy and ensuring it uses its funding and income to provide accessible mental health services. Key responsibilities

Strategic Planning

· Work closely with the Board of Trustees and the senior leadership team to devise, implement and deliver Riverside’s strategy and business plan

· Identify growth, partnership and development opportunities in line with the needs of communities we serve

· Keep up to date with new developments in the field of mental health and any related government policies, reviewing in line with charitable objectives and strategic direction

Leadership & People Management

Operations and Service Delivery

· Oversee all aspects of service delivery including safeguarding, ensuring excellent and ethical delivery of a client-centred service

· Monitor the quality and quantity of services delivered, outcome measures and feedback, reporting on the impact of services

· Ensure that all counsellors are supported in their professional development and client delivery with a clear framework of support and guidance

Partnerships, Engagement & Advocacy

· Develop and manage relationships with key charitable stakeholders, including other community and charitable organisations, counselling networks, grant and funding bodies, commissioners, regulatory and professional bodies, corporate partners and individual donors

· Act as the public face of Riverside Counselling Services and represent the charity across the mental health sector, within professional bodies and within the media

· Keep in touch with the needs of the community and the charity’s service users ensuring that services are developed in line with these priorities.

Governance

· Work closely with the board to ensure they are able to fulfil their governance responsibilities and maintain high standards of governance

· Ensure the charity is meeting its overall purpose within a clear governance framework with associated policies, procedures and best practice guidelines

CARE (Christian Action, Research and Education) has been at the heart of research, advocacy, education programmes and social action projects that have sought to change perceptions of how the Bible can be the basis of effective public policy solutions to some of our biggest social and political challenges for almost 40 years.

This is an exciting time to join CARE! Following the appointment of our new Chief Executive in 2021, we have embarked on an ambitious new strategy for engaging with politics and policy development across the UK – speaking out for the vulnerable and the voiceless, informed by our conviction that the Bible tells a better story for human flourishing.

To help enable this, we are looking to grow our expert and high-achieving Public Policy Team. We are looking for an experienced, innovative, creative, skilled and energetic policy professional who is excited by the prospect of developing policy from the ground up, and building expertise in diverse areas such as poverty, strengthening families, children and young people, beginning and end of life, violence against women, disability, addictions, older people, and freedom of speech and religion.

This will probably be your second or third role in this field, and there is a real opportunity to make your mark. You will be passionate about the relevance of God’s word for the politics and culture of today and excited about bringing faith, good research and practical evidence to bear on public policy and legislation in both Northern Ireland and Great Britain. You will be comfortable speaking to politicians, academics and members of church congregations alike.

Refuge’s work has never been more important. When the first safe house for women and children opened in Chiswick in 1971, domestic abuse was largely seen as being black eyes and broken bones, something which happened behind closed doors. Now, it is recognised that domestic abuse can take many forms and can be more complex and difficult to spot. It can include abuse via technology, economic abuse, coercive control, emotional abuse and sexual abuse.

Over the past two years, we have had some significant successes at Refuge. At our core, we are the largest single provider of specialist domestic abuse services for women and their children across the country. We run the National Domestic Abuse Helpline, the gateway to frontline services. Every two minutes, someone turns to Refuge for help. As well as our frontline services, we also advocate and campaign for policy and legislative change.

We are seeking a new CEO to advance the organisation's mission and impact. We are looking for a CEO for Refuge that is a visionary and strategic leader, who is passionate about ending domestic abuse and empowering survivors. Refuge is already a leading force in the sector, but we know we can do more to create positive change and make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by domestic violence.

The new CEO will lead the development and delivery of the strategic plan for the organisation at a pivotal time in our history. Continuing to raise our external profile, they will develop and leverage strategic partnerships that further our mission as a feminist force for good. They will drive the organisation to long-term financial sustainability and relentlessly nurture a culture that is kind, inclusive, compassionate, open, empowering, bold and never shies away from the challenges ahead.

You will have experience in a similar leadership role, preferably within the not-for-profit sector, overseeing complex organisations. Experience in both leading and delivering substantial change is crucial. You will have a strong grasp of business planning principles and risk management, including service delivery risk. A proven track record of setting and achieving strategic and operational targets is essential.

The Fundraising Officer at the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT) supports a wide range of the charity’s activities, including but not limited to, helping to develop and grow income from individual donors with a focus on developing strong relationships with donors and families; as well as assisting with CHECT’s overall admin and operations.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping families affected by retinoblastoma and shares our values to increase awareness through communications and appeals, expanding our social media and website content and supporting our exciting fundraising efforts.

You will have a high level of autonomy and will be given the opportunity to develop new ideas in a role that is varied and flexible. 

Key Objectives of the role:

• To assist the Fundraising Manager on the organisation of events primarily mass participation events
• To assist the Fundraising Manager in providing excellent stewardship to all of CHECT’s supporters
• Management of the fundraising inbox, social media and regular email and telephone communications
• To provide admin and communication support to the wider CHECT team, monitoring the info@inbox and collecting and sending office post
