THE ROLE
The Contracts Manager will join our Operations team to represent the Woodland Trust locally, supporting a diverse portfolio of sites within North England, in line with the Trust’s standards and ensuring the safety of our colleagues, visitors, contractors and volunteers. It shall be the Contracts Manager’s responsibility to support Site Managers’ in the preparation and delivery of grant applications, operational contracts and projects including silvicultural operations.
The Contracts Manager will initiate, develop and project manage new innovative projects within and across the woodlands, working with external partner and a cross-departmental team of foresters, people engagement specialists, communications specialists and funders.
They will identify opportunities to streamline services, develop our contractor base and maximise the income and grant aid potential of work programmes. They are responsible for ensuring that all necessary agreements, mitigations and consents are in place in preparation for the delivery of contracts and in accordance with all Woodland Trust Health and Safety policies and procedures.
A company car will be provided with this role.
THE CANDIDATE
With previous experience in land-based management in the forestry, woodland management, or nature conservation sector, you’ll have experience in writing and reviewing site management plans, budget and contract management, and Health and Safety management. You’ll have experience in the writing and delivery grant schemes across woodland creation and for specifying, instructing, and supervising woodland management operations. You’ll be experienced in planning, monitoring, and delivering multi-disciplinary projects to time and to budget and in engaging with contractors and suppliers on pricing, implementation, and delivery.
You must have a proactive ‘can-do’ attitude, excellent communication skills, be commercially aware and able to build effective partnerships internally and externally. You’ll have experience engaging with external stakeholders, communities and volunteers with a collaborative approach. A working knowledge of the operational, ie Forest Works Management of woodlands would be desirable.
A full driving licence is a must have, along with the ability to undertake travel across a wide area, sometimes to remote locations. Occasional overnight stays will be required and you will be expected to live in the region and within easy reach of key sites in North England.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and dynamic individual to lead on the day-to-day coordination and development of Women and Girls Network (WGN) Training department. We are looking for someone who is able to support and contribute to the Training teams’ development and facilitation of innovative, survivor centred and trauma-informed training programmes for professionals supporting survivors.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of coordinating similar services as well as working to support a multidisciplinary staff team. The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of the issues facing women and girls affected by violence against women and girls (VAWG) in the context of their lives, safeguarding, support services and policy, and be able to work from an intersectional framework.

THE ROLE
The Rainforest Project Officer role is based in South West England and funded by the Species Survival Fund which National Lottery Heritage Fund are delivering on behalf of Defra. The role will include providing advice and support for landowners on the creation and management of temperate rainforests; overseeing rainforest restoration on the Woodland Trust estate; and working with the regional communications and engagement team to deliver a wide range of rainforest themed communications and engagement activities to showcase and raise awareness about the importance of the Temperate Rainforest and the work of the Woodland Trust.
The Rainforest Project Officer will oversee, and help deliver, a diverse programme of work for the project, as well as line managing two early-career trainees to increase their knowledge and develop the skills needed to inspire a wide range of audiences to engage with this precious habitat.
This is an 18 month fixed term position.
THE CANDIDATE

About the Role:
The primary purpose of this role is to provide debt advice and money education on a case management basis and to support the provision of advice by volunteers. The post holder will be expected to manage their own cases and lead appointment sessions.
The organisation’s mission is to ‘Restore Dignity and Renew Hope’ to those in our communities brought down by poverty and debt. The job holder will play their part in bringing this vision to reality, supporting clients through what at times can be emotionally difficult situations, to get back on their feet and realise their full potential.
The role combines both technical and pastoral elements. The role will involve building a client case, untangling sometimes complex situations, liaising with creditors, providing guidance for volunteers, and discerning and communicating the appropriate choices and strategies for the client. But you will also need to lead client appointments and support clients through what at times can be emotionally difficult situations.
About you:
We are looking for someone with prior debt advice experience who ideally has experience in leading and supervising volunteers.
Essential skills and experience of the Case Manager include:
- Previous experience in providing regulated debt advice on a case management basis
- Being a DRO intermediary would be an advantage
- Demonstrable experience in providing person-focused support to clients who may be vulnerable
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to show empathy, compassion and patience
- Sound IT skills with a strong command of the Microsoft Office suite

Peatlands Programme Manager (Wetland Conservation / River Restoration / Natural Flood Management)

Our client have secured funding from Shropshire Council and DEFRA to deliver Natural Flood Management (NFM) measures in the peat dominated catchment of the River Perry. This is one of the projects that contributes towards the Shropshire based schemes delivering a pipeline set of ‘demonstrator’ projects which support early thinking and work by the Environment Agency on the Severn Valley Water Management Scheme (SVWMS), to test innovative solutions to long term flooding issues and use natural flood management techniques to ‘slow the flow’ of water.
What you will be doing:
The Postholder will be directly responsible for the successful delivery of the ‘Perry and Peatlands’ project, will look after discrete elements of larger projects and will oversee a number of other small and medium size projects delivered by other members of the team.
You will bring project management skills that can be cascaded through the wider team. The line manager will work with the postholder to maintain a balanced individual work programme with clear outputs and outcomes. For individual projects or elements of projects the postholder will work directly with the project lead who has decision-making authority for those projects.
What they are looking for:

Relevant environmental qualification/s or experience in an ecological, nature conservation or a land/water management or general environmental subject. Technical specialism is an advantage.

As Fundraising Manager, you will:

THE ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished cyber security engineer to join our Digital Enablement team. As we continue into the next phase of our Trust-wide transformation, cyber security will underpin all aspects of our digital acitivity. The Individual Giving Manager in the Mass Fundraising team will work closely with the Senior Individual Giving Manager and Mass Lead to develop the programme across membership, lottery, raffle and digital fundraising.
As Individual Giving Manager you will:
- Lead on the RNID weekly lottery, which this year will be launching private site face to face recruitment
- Manage our two annual raffles
- Support the Senior Individual Manager with the review of our Membership programme and deliver the recommendations

You will have experience in managing supporter data to ensure compliance and maximise effectiveness of our campaigns.

St. John’s church Deptford possesses a unique grade II* listed Binns Organ and a development grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) for its restoration.
The Role
To deliver the Development Phase of the Project to a high standard. You will refine the budget, create the project’s cashflow, revise the project plan and organise procuring of three roles: an Activity Planner, an Evaluator, and a Fundraiser. You will maintain a close overview of the project plan for the Development Phase, compiling NLHF Development Phase final report and evaluation. The role is for a duration of nine months.

The Role
The Community Support Worker will be required to work alongside the full-time area Co-ordinators to support activities and groups and carry out one-to-one initial appointments for people residing in Surrey.
