About the role
We’re looking for a creative and confident Content & Communications Coordinator to join our busy Digital and Marketing team at Imperial College Union. This role will be key in strengthening our online presence and improving student engagement with the Union. The successful candidate will manage our social media channels and content to drive two-way conversations, to increase awareness of the Union’s work, and help us better understand what they care about.
You will be our in-house journalist; planning and delivering content that speaks to our varied audiences. You’ll build strong relationships across the Union and College, writing creative copy and curating innovative social media content. Using your in-depth knowledge of social media, you will be aware of emerging trends across all platforms and create content that attracts and retains the interest and attention of our members. You will work closely with colleagues across the Union, including our elected Officer Trustees, to support them to reach more students and deliver key messages. This role is integral to supporting the diverse work the Union does.
Our ideal candidate will have a flair for creative writing for a variety of topics and channels, with a strong passion for social media and help develop and embed the Union’s personality and brand. What you would be doing
Content Planning
- To assist in the creation of communications and content plans to support the marketing team in the delivery of key Union marketing activity, such as Welcome Week and election.
- Populate the social media calendars to ensure regular, timely and impactful content across these channels on Instagram, TikTok and Threads.
- Build networks with student groups, the Union’s newspaper (Felix) and external partners to develop opportunities for content collaboration
- Utilise student feedback and engagement with Union content to continue to improve and develop our output and channels
- Work with the Officer Trustees to promote their public profiles and provide support on their campaigns.
- Stay up to date with what’s happening across the Union, College, the city and wider student movement to stay current and spot positive PR opportunities and content.
Content Creation & Curation
- Ensure timely, relevant and engaging content for Union channels & platforms, including blogs, website, social media and news
- Write, proof and edit a variety of digital communications across the organisation, such as blogs and web content to ensure brand and tone of voice is consistent and correct
- Lead on the weekly student newsletter – composing and drafting the newsletter and sending it out to all students every week
- Attend student events to capture photos and videos content to use for marketing purposes and provide live social media coverage to a high standard
- Be aware of shareable, engaging content, sourcing content from external channels to build an engaged following and boost our content on social media
- Establish and work with student and staff social ambassadors in gathering stories and content
General
- Monitor and moderate social posts and comments and respond or escalate in line with the Union’s Crisis Comms plan
- Support key events throughout the year, including Welcome Week and Elections, when necessary

What we are looking for
- Experience of developing and delivering communications plans campaigns with clear metrics of success
- Solid knowledge of website analytics tools to help monitor and generate useful reports and insights
- Experience in managing content calendars
- Experience of, or strong understanding of, producing web content and an organisation’s social media presence
- Writing copy, editing, and proofreading for online media, demonstrating excellent attention to detail
- Monitoring the effectiveness of communications activity and able to present appropriate recommendations for improvement and innovation
- Good software knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop)
- A good grasp of content and social media evolution, especially those targeting youth and student market

This is a mixed role – developing partnership links and building capacity to develop cancer support services in the geographical area of Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.
In a typical day you may:
- Support priority projects. A key priority for the role is the creation, development and protection of local cancer support services, strengthening local voluntary organisations.
- Attend public events and use social media tools to promote what we do and why we do it.
- Together with partners across health, social care and the third sector ensure that the programme puts the person affected by cancer at the centre.
Looking forward towards the future of personalised care we need to provide a more supportive cancer service so that everyone with cancer will know where they can turn them from the moment they are diagnosed, getting support that’s right for them.
The role will require you to manage your own workload effectively, be flexible with occasional evening work and very occasional weekend work. You will need to be able to work on your own initiative whilst benefitting from being part of a supportive team and renowned national charity.

Job Summary
The Head of Student Representation is a critical member of the Students’ Union’s Delivery senior team and leads Durham SU’s work in influencing Durham University in students’ academic interests, through the support of student leaders and volunteers. The Head manages the Student Voice team, which coordinate support for academic representatives, and which provides policy advice to student leaders and the Durham SU senior staff.
The Head is also the operational lead for data protection, information governance, and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
The Head of Student Representation is responsible for the performance, growth and sustainability of Durham SU’s professional staff team and volunteers, organised to support faculty and academic representatives.

Support the Deputy Chief Executive in the development and maintenance of relationships with Durham University’s academic and professional staff.
The Head of Student Representation will be accountable for:

Leadership across the newly formed Delivery function in the SU – working closely alongside the Head of Community and the Deputy Chief Executive to provide a high-quality experience to Students’ Union stakeholders

Managing their team efficiently, effectively and consistently with Durham SU’s values, within agreed targets, to meet agreed outcomes.

Delivery of research, reports, consultations and project outcomes as agreed with Durham University (for example, access and participation fund work, responses to the Teaching Excellence Framework, the National Student Survey, etc).

Successful support offers for academic communities within four faculties, including academic representatives and academic student groups

Seeking and holding key external relationships and advancing the reputation and reach of Durham students and Durham SU.

Durham SU’s responsible and effective use of student data and insight, including the management of large data transfers from Durham University to Durham SU.

We are seeking a proactive and ambitious Philanthropy Officer to join our team at Princess Alice Hospice. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Philanthropy and pay a pivotal role in delivering and expanding our Major Gift programme, as part of our busy and highly successful fundraising team which raises over £3 million annually. About the role:
This role will work directly to secure income from individual supporters contributing £5,000 or more annually. Working independently and in partnership with the Head of Philanthropy, Trust and Foundation Lead and other senior stakeholders, the Philanthropy Officer will drive donor engagement and development, through focused relationship management, impactful communication and innovative stewardship.
Key responsibilities include collaborating across the Philanthropy team, with fundraising colleagues, and hospice networks to build a robust prospect pipeline and design and implement personalised supporter journeys that track and monitor progress, deepen relationships and secure income.
This role will also be responsible for engagement and communication activities to support the Philanthropy programme, including event management, group communications and appeals.
Candidates who can demonstrate excellent writing, relationship and stakeholder management in other sectors will also be considered.

Borders Forest Trust (BFT) are recruiting for a new Chief Executive .
BFT is a charity established to restore native woodland habitats to Southern Scotland, an area with the lowest percentage of native woodlands in mainland Scotland. Since 1996, we have been working towards planting trees, restoring peatlands and other natural habitats, enriching the biological diversity of around 31 sq km in the Southern Uplands. They demonstrate large scale ecological restoration in action, and inspire landowners, statutory bodies, local communities and policy makers to embrace this alternative model for land use and conservation.
The charity’s previous Director has led the organisation for five years, and BFT are in a strong position, ready to develop a new organisational strategy and grow. This is a role of great strategic importance to the charity and the role is varied, with a broad remit.
The Chief Executive role has organisational responsibility for 12 members of staff, some office based but most out and about across the countryside in which BFT works.
As Chief Executive, you’ll bring proven senior leadership experience and the ability to get the best from staff and volunteers. A natural communicator, you’ll engage confidently with a wide range of people – from volunteers and donors to policymakers and conservation experts.
You’ll have experience generating significant income in the not-for-profit sector, alongside strengths in strategic planning and programme development. This role is hybrid based, with candidates being in the Head Office in Jedburgh (Scottish Borders) once or twice weekly, with other time spent out and about across the geography BFT covers.
