Strathclyde would like to appoint an early career fundraiser to the role of Alumni Fund Officer, working within its established and successful Alumni and Development team. This role will deliver fundraising programmes to support the University’s Alumni Fund – a fund which is championed by many thousands of our graduates, and which supports the whole student experience. 

You will deliver a range of fundraising projects including an annual student telethon campaign, direct mail, and digital projects (including Giving Day campaigns). Working across the University, you will develop close and supportive relationships with senior staff and talented students alike.

The University’s Alumni Fund helps students to have an outstanding student experience by funding a range of projects including scholarships for students in need; community programmes; international experiences; learning resources and student-led projects. You will raise awareness of the Fund to the student community, and you will manage the funding application process, taking an active role in awarding funding to successful projects.

This is an exciting time to be part of the Alumni & Development team at Strathclyde in the University’s Diamond Jubilee anniversary, celebrating its achievements and its future ambitions for its students, research, and teaching.

You will have a strong interest in fundraising, ideally looking to take the next step in your career as a fundraising professional.  You will also have strong project management and administrative skills and the ability to create powerful content which introduces donors to the need for the Alumni Fund at Strathclyde and its positive impact for our students.

As an Assistant Community Shop Manager (ACSM) for St Giles Hospice you will support in leading a team of volunteers. You’ll be empowered to make decisions locally whilst working within a supportive framework. JOB SUMMARY:

 To assist the Finance team with the day-to-day financial activities of International Medical Corps UK in ensuring appropriate finance management, accounting, control and reporting. MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•  Appropriate and timely processing of accounts payable function;

•  Prepare vouchers for Foreign exchange transfers;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• AAT qualified, ACCA, CIMA entry level;
• Proficient in using data analysis tools in excel for reports etc.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word Package;
• Prior experience of using ERM or accounting packages;

About the Role  

Under the direction of the Chief Executive, the Deputy Chief Executive (Operations and Services) will be responsible for the overall financial management, business reporting and operational services for the organisation. The person within this role will develop controls, policies and procedures that work for a variety of audiences including student volunteers, staff and trustees. They will lead on setting the strategic financial goals for the organisation and take a proactive role in supporting our performance towards these goals. The role will also support several departmental managers who deliver organisational services in the areas of finance, commercial and central services. The successful candidate won’t necessarily need to come from the Higher Education sector, but you must be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the trends and issues that affect our students. Your new role

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Carry out reception duties and act as 'first point of contact' for visitors to the office.
• Sorting, date stamping, scanning all documents received and distributing post and documents received into the office and verifying delivery of documents, parcels and other goods in accordance with office procedures.
• Provide clerical and administrative support to the field staff, as required.
• Arrange the collection of all samples on a daily basis that need to go to the labs, preparing for collection and liaising with the couriers.

• Answer all incoming calls and respond to telephone queries from a wide range of sources regarding the current status of imported food cargo and charging procedures, including passing calls on to the relevant staff.
• Under the direction of the Officers, or Technical Officers, carry out documentary checking with regard to consignments of imported food (not of animal origin), and maintain all necessary electronic and paper-based records.
• Input data into internal and external database systems and carry out general internal database maintenance, e.g. modifying tables, queries and reports.
• Maintain and update electronic and paper-based filing and record systems, including the equipment inventory. Assist with the archiving of items, and deal with confidential documents appropriately.
• Under the direction of Official Veterinarians or Officers, record Products of Animal Origin and other imported food consignments on the computerised cargo handling system and port manifesting systems.
• Under the direction of Official Veterinarians or Officers, they undertake the initial documentary check for third country consignments of products of animal origin in accordance with ISO procedures and ensure that documents for charging purposes are sent to the Finance Section on a daily basis.

About the role

Supporter Care is about inspiring people and giving them the opportunity to do something amazing. This role will suit you as an enthusiastic, adaptable, and proactive team player. You’ll use your exceptional interpersonal skills to deliver a memorable experience to Crisis supporters and members of the public, adding value to every interaction.

Location: London office (you will be required to work from the London office once a week or twice a fortnight in line with Crisis’ Hybrid Working policy) 

As a key member of the fundraising team, you will handle inbound contacts with potential and existing supporters over multiple channels, delivering an exceptional quality of service to queries related to our new products and services including retail. And you’ll help to improve the supporter experience by identifying and helping to resolve issues in the supporter journey, particularly those relating to our website. This is an exciting time to join our team and contribute to us establishing how we can add real value to our engagement with supporters. We will work together to make sure the supporters' voices are heard and at the heart of our fundraising and decision-making.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

• An understanding of what it takes to provide excellent service to supporters and/or customers
• Ability to organise your workload and maintain a high level of output and accuracy even during busier times
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Empathy and social intelligence including willingness to work closely with colleagues to achieve shared goals
• Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities

We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our Finance Team in the role of Finance Assistant.

The Finance Assistant supports all aspects of the Hallé’s work at the Bridgewater Hall, the Hallé Venues and concert halls across the UK.

The Finance Assistant works in a department currently comprising Finance Director, Finance Manager, Assistant Finance Manager and Finance Assistant.

The department is responsible for all aspects of the financial affairs of the Society and its related trusts. The Finance Assistant is responsible to the Assistant Finance Manager.

They take responsibility for processing the day-to-day transactions of the company across purchase ledger, sales ledger and the cash book, and ensure the smooth operation of the office. They will also need to work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider Hallé as well as with external customers and suppliers.

The post is full-time permanent based on a 36.25-hour week. Our core office hours are 09.00-17:15, from Monday to Friday. There is an option to work up to 50% of hours from home.

Consideration will be given to applicants wanting to work part-time at an appropriate level to meet the requirements of the role.
