Tinnitus UK is the only registered charity in the UK supporting the one in seven adults who have tinnitus!  The charity has recently renamed and rebranded.  All part of the ambitious plans fo the charity to raise its profile and relevance even further, to reach and help more people than ever.  We are looking for a Fundraising and Events Administrator to provide administrative and operational support to the Fundraising Managers (Corporate, Major Donor, Legacy, Individual Membership, Trusts & Foundations) and to the Head of Services by administering donor and supporter records and assisting with events and general operational duties.

Main Responsibilities

Fundraising General (65%)

• Organizing and maintaining membership and donation data in the CRM database (Donorfy)
• First point of contact for supporter enquiries (email/phone)
• Taking telephone donations when required
• Flagging contact/donations to relevant team members
• Printing and posting thank you letters for offline donors

Events (20%)

• Monitor the events@inbox
• Monitor event bookings and process invoices as required
• Liaise with speakers, attendees and sponsors as appropriate

• Assist the Office Manager with office administrative tasks
• Work across the Tinnitus UK team and assist in all areas of work
• Attend internal and external meetings, events and training
• Assist the office manager with bookings of meetings/conference venues for Trustee Board and other meetings/training days
• Organise travel and accommodation as and when required
• Undertake training (In-house and external) as required

Its purpose is "Funding research into better, kinder treatments to help cure kids' cancer."

The three cancers it focuses on (brain tumours, leukaemia and sarcoma) make up 78% of all childhood cancers. The collaboration allows the three distinct organizations to come together with a single-minded vision to be louder, more powerful, reach more people, and fund more vital research.

We3can is a joint initiative created by merging the efforts of three leading cancer in children's  charities to maximize impact in fighting the most common types of childhood cancer through research funding and awareness.

Job Purpose:

The Project Development Manager will be the main point of contact for the collaboration. They will be responsible for implementing and delivering the project plan, monitoring, evaluations, reporting, all systems and processes, coordinating meetings, etc and for generating income through (mainly) Corporate partnerships but may include some Trusts and High Value individuals. These partners will be with organisations/individuals who would otherwise be outside the reach of any of the three charities individually.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create systems and processes for administering and managing the functions of the partnership.
• Ensure regular project group meetings take place.
• Lead on the promotion of the brand and communications activities in conjunction with the communications experts on the project group.
• Monitor website and social media activity.
• Promote and implement activities to increase the profile of the collaboration.
• Identify, add and manage a pipeline of prospective funders.
• Develop and implement a strategic income generation plan to and achieve annual revenue targets.
• Use the data base to manage reporting, indicator evaluation and to manager GDPR, Gift Aid (where appropriate) etc.
• Regularly report against the agreed KPI’s in the strategic income generation plan.
• Provide fortnightly written updates on activity.
• Identify and pursue prospective partners through research, networking and outreach.
• Develop tailored partnership proposals and pitches that articulate the mutual benefits to potential partners.
• Manage cultivation cycle - qualify, pitch, negotiate and close new business opportunities.
• Steward and renew existing partner relationships through exceptional account management.
• Work closely with the marketing team to develop co-branded campaigns, marketing assets and employee engagement initiatives.
• Track and report on fundraising activities including pipeline, projections and results.
• Develop fundraising marketing materials and content for website, social media, etc.

The person:

A highly motivated, organised, goal focused, self-starter with;

We are seeking an experienced Fundraising Manager to drive forward relationship building and income generation across all income streams, especially Individual Giving including appeals and major donors, Corporates, Trusts & Foundations and Legacies.

Working closely with the Director of Fundraising and Engagement you will develop the Fundraising Strategy, and as a member of the Extended Leadership Team, will be the lead for driving forward sustainable fundraising activity in collaboration with colleagues.

About the opportunity

Fundraising is critical to delivering our mission and ensuring we can support as many children and young people facing disadvantage to open doors to their future.  The Philanthropy Team as a whole has a combined target income for the current year (2023-24) of £1.83 million (growing to £2.35m as our target for next year), of which approximately £850k is from corporate donors and their foundations, £100k is from individuals, and the remaining from trusts and foundations. We are looking for a Fundraising Manager to work within our passionate Philanthropy Team to help grow our fundraised income and develop and maintain an effective, high-quality funding pipeline. Focussing predominantly on eliciting funding from trusts and foundations, and working closely with the Head of Philanthropy, CEO and Corporate Partnerships Manager, the Fundraising Manager will ensure the effective management of existing funder relations and take responsibility for ensuring Action Tutoring meets its reporting obligations. Duties and responsibilities

· Work with the CEO, Head of Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships Manager to ensure Action Tutoring’s fundraising targets are met and manage an effective pipeline across Action Tutoring’s different income streams.

· Monitor when grants are due for renewal and proactively seek out renewal conversations, ensuring Action Tutoring has a healthy funding pipeline. 

· Work with the Fundraising Coordinator for Campaigns, Events and Individual Giving to build Action Tutoring’s income generated from events, ensuring an attractive range of event options across the country. Manage the Fundraising Coordinator to ensure places are secured, participants are supported and engagement is expanded.
 

· Work with  Fundraising Coordinator for Campaigns, Events and Individual Giving to build Action Tutoring’s income generated from individual giving, developing campaigns for driving more regular giving and building our strategies to cultivate, engage and thank individuals. 
 

· Act as a system manager for fundraising platforms, databases and tools including Just Giving and the Giving Block, with support from Fundraising Coordinators.
 

· Oversee the development of the fundraising area of the website and fundraising pack to attract new funders and fundraisers to the charity, with support from the Fundraising Coordinators.
 

· Manage the Fundraising Coordinators, ensuring they are growing and developing, and that work load is shared fairly. 
 

· Represent Action Tutoring at relevant meetings and events.
 

· Alongside your team, prepare applications for corporate funding opportunities identified by the Corporate Partnerships Team.
 

· Ensure accurate record-keeping of corporate partnerships and relationships on Salesforce and any other relevant systems.

Person specification

This role requires an ambitious, passionate and determined individual with outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Alongside your team you will be responsible for writing and submitting grant applications and reports, so an excellent understanding of the English language and a keen eye for detail are crucial for success within this position. Working to deadlines and line-managing three Fundraising Coordinators, exceptional time-management, prioritisation and organisation skills are essential. With a focus on developing our individual giving strategies, we’re looking for an individual with excellent interpersonal skills. 
 

Qualifications criteria:

· A*-C in maths and English at GCSE (or equivalent experience).
 

· Right to work in the UK.
 

We are looking for some of the following attributes, though you might be more experienced in some areas than others:

As Ufton’s Fundraising Manager, you'll work with the SLT to identify and nurture funding opportunities across charitable trusts, philanthropy and companies to help raise £500,000 each year. 

You’ll use your creative and copywriting skills to produce engaging and impactful fundraising materials – whether proposals, reports for funders or campaign materials. You’ll also have an eye for detail, a passion for stats and facts to support your ideas, understand budgeting and love developing authentic, innovative relationships with supporters.

Key responsibilities 

1. Strategic planning and collaboration

· Work with the Head of Fundraising to enhance and adapt Ufton’s fundraising strategy.

· Collaborate with teams across Ufton to ensure you can identify opportunities, build proposals for funding, and deliver against Ufton’s and donor needs.

· Anticipate new business by staying on top of sector trends and conducting market research to identify new opportunities.

2. Grant writing and management

· Apply to a range of trusts/grant giving bodies ensuring that applications are closely aligned to the objectives of the funder and Ufton.

· Ensure the appropriate recognition of grants and gifts is made to ensure relationships are maintained through reporting and wider engagement. 

· Collaborate with others to produce compelling and compliant bids that align with our mission, priorities, and values.

3. Prospect research and pipeline development

· Use prospect research strategies to build a robust and actionable pipeline for Ufton.

4. Knowledge management and resource building

· Work collaboratively to build your toolbox to enable smart ways of working, including cases for support, project budgets, case studies and evidence of need/impact.

· Build and manage banks of knowledge and resources to scale your work more quickly, never compromising on quality and integrity.

· Use data (internal and external) to understand the needs of children and young people and build evidence-based bids for funding.

· Acquire an in-depth knowledge of what Ufton does and the impact on children and young people.

5. Relationship building and donor engagement

· Build and develop relationships with trusts and individuals with regular communication to deepen and nurture their support.

· Identify and coordinate donor meetings, site visits and other interactions to deepen relationships and showcase our impact.

· Plan and manage special events to engage donors and supporters, creating meaningful moments that highlight Ufton's impact on children and young people.

· Work collaboratively to build and manage rich engagement plans for our supporters.

6. Fundraising campaign management

· With the Head of Fundraising, develop and manage fundraising campaigns and initiatives, whether capital appeals or individual giving campaigns.

· Work collaboratively across all teams to identify needs and opportunities and transform those into compelling fundraising campaigns.

7. Data integrity

· Keep comprehensive records of all trust and grant fundraising activities and be able to report the impact to funders and stakeholders via various methods.

· Hold high levels of data integrity and be a keen supporter of using technology to support efficiency, accuracy, and accountability.

· Help to implement, develop, and then maintain the charity’s CRM system (Salesforce) ensuring all activity is inputted accurately and efficiently and that you contribute towards its continuous improvement.

· Analyse data to identify trends and opportunities.

 The post holder will also: 

· Contribute to achieving the objectives of Ufton and wider fundraising activities.

· Undertake any additional and ad hoc tasks as required. 

· Actively contribute to team meetings and other activities as required. 

· Monitor and evaluate activities and provide written reports. 

· Represent Ufton in a professional manner. 

· Work within an EDI framework, adhere to all the Charity’s policies, procedures and working. 

· Ensure all records are held in compliance with GDPR, The Fundraising Regulator Code of Practice and Ufton policies.

· Previous experience in a business development / bid writing

· Maintain high levels of attention to detail and a commitment to building evidence-based proposals

· Numerate and able to build project budgets to align with bids for funding 

· Enthusiasm and determination to meet targets   

· Knowledge / understanding from the higher/education sector 

· Excellent with MS Office suite   

· Ability to use your own initiative and take ownership of your work whilst recognising when to ask for help or to escalate issues  

· Good team working skills – you will like working collaboratively and co-operatively with colleagues, especially those who are quite different to you  

· Meticulous attention to detail and hates missing a deadline  

· You will be approachable, confident and excited to join the rest of the team in our core mission 

About Schoolreaders:

Schoolreaders was launched ten years ago in Bedfordshire with the aim of recruiting volunteers to provide one-to-one reading support for children in primary schools across the country. Over 22,000 children in over 1000 schools are receiving weekly reading sessions from a Schoolreaders volunteer. One in four children are leaving primary school unable to read to the expected Government standard. Our service is needed more than ever before with 1 in 6 primary schools across the country asking Schoolreaders for reading volunteers. Building on past successes, we have ambitious plans to expand our provision, focussing on areas of deprivation in which children need our support the most.

We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced Head of Fundraising to lead our small, dynamic Schoolreaders fundraising team and help grow income in line with the Charity's ambitious and exciting plans.
