We are looking for an experienced Youth Worker, to deliver training sessions and projects to young people through youth centres, community groups, schools, secure units and alternative provisions across South Wales and Bristol (including surrounding areas) and to ensure our programmes are fit for the future.

We are an award-winning national charity which trains over 9,000 young people affected by street violence each year in emergency first-aid through a team of 300 healthcare volunteers and youth workers. We empower young people with the skills to become part of the solution to violence by developing the skills and confidence to save lives and increasing their understanding of the medical and psychological consequences of violence.

As the StreetDoctors Youth Worker in the Region, you will deliver high quality training, develop new partnerships and maintain positive relationships.

The key areas of focus include:

• To deliver training sessions to young people and partners to required quantity and quality, and support the development, testing and implementation of new training content. 

• To create, develop and maintain partnerships with a range of organisations including, funders, commissioners, community organisations, criminal justice organisations, education providers and youth organisations. 

• To support the management of volunteers and provide the best volunteering experience possible.

We are looking for an energetic Immigration Adviser to provide advice to destitute migrants with No Recourse to Public Funds in hospitals.

Praxis Community Projects is a dynamic, award-winning human rights charity supporting migrants in crisis or at- risk, ensuring that their essential human needs are met and that they are able to overcome the barriers they face. This project is delivered in partnership with Pathway, the UK’s leading homeless healthcare charity. Supported by a project supervisor, you will be responsible for the overall project and delivery of immigration advice and casework to migrants at risk referred by selected Pathway Homeless Healthcare Teams across England. This service is delivered through a mixture of channels including telephone, digital, face-to-face and hybrid working. 

The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of the issues faced by refugees, asylum seekers and migrants at risk (including EU migrants). The post holder will have a good understanding of the challenges faced by homeless migrants with NRPF and will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a range of stakeholders.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To work alongside the FASD Services Manager, FASD Lead Advisor and FASD Advisors in the delivery of the FASD Hub services including developing/delivering FASD training; providing direct support to families, providing line management supervision to volunteers and taking a lead role in facilitating community support services including peer support groups, Advice Line and the establishment of community support groups

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·The post holder will take a lead role and play an active part in the service’s peer support activities including online peer support groups/forums, virtual community groups and the establishment of a network of local community support groups.

·Lead delivery of FASD training workshops, seminars, webinars, events, commissioned training, and bespoke sessions for parents/carers, professionals, and stakeholders. The delivery of training may be online or in person and may require travel throughout Scotland.

·Responsible for supporting FASD Hub service users through direct one-to-one support to parents/carers.

·Provide support and supervision to FASD Hub volunteers.

·The post holder will take a significant role in the design and development of training materials and resources, including updating and refreshing in line with new FASD developments and research which impact upon the FASD community.

·Support the wider work of Adoption UK to deliver training on FASD to members, staff, and stakeholders, for example as part of Kinship Care Week, Adoption Week Scotland, The Promise etc.On occasions these maybe outside Scotland.

·Provide support and guidance to the FASD Helpline Advisor and follow up targeted enhanced advice in response to helpline enquires. 

·Provide cover and answer incoming enquiries to the FASD Hub Helpline, (telephone, email, and online platforms), along with occasionally providing cover to other Adoption UK Helpline services. 

·Working alongside other team members, the post holder will have input into the development, designing and planning of content for FASD Hub social media accounts, to ensure content is factually correct and the messaging reflects that of the FASD Hub service and FASD community. 

·Attend relevant national meetings, conferences, training events, networking, and development opportunities to promote the FASD Hub services and/or delivering FASD training.

The Hepatitis C Trust develops projects nationally where peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training, increase hepatitis C awareness, and access to testing and treatment for people living with hepatitis C. 

Working with the South West Peninsula ODN, The Hepatitis C Trust are now expanding this commitment through the introduction of the HCC (Hepatocellular Carcinoma) surveillance and early liver disease detection programme.

Our Sport Team has an exciting opportunity for you to join them, working in Camden and across London to engage those experiencing homelessness into physical activity and improving their quality of life. 

About the role: 

As a Sport Coordinator, you'll be responsible for planning and delivering varied activity sessions for both adults and young people across different services, both internally and externally. You will work closely with the Sport Manager to effectively coordinate support from freelancers and volunteers. Your role will extend to broadening the accessibility of sports and exercise within SHP's services and among its residents, for both adults and the young people we support. Additionally, you'll play a key part in growing the programmes reach, forging partnerships with similar organisations and charities, while also advocating for the significance of physical activity within the homeless community. 

The approach taken with clients will be psychologically informed, incorporating an understanding of Personality disorder, complex trauma and addiction. The outcomes for your role include developing positive and sustained relationships of trust with clients supporting them to engage in regular physical activity, and see an improvement in their overall health.

• Demonstrable knowledge of fitness and sporting activities, application and implementation 
• Sports and coaching qualifications relevant tot he sector.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

To assist with handling all incoming requests for help, both by telephone and email, to listen to and record the needs of elderly and/or terminally ill people and their pets (ie petitioner needs).  To identify individuals outside our charitable remit and refer to other organisations that can offer assistance and always seek advice in the case of doubt.

Where help is required, to raise a computerised record to log the case, task volunteers nationwide by telephone and email to offer assistance to elderly petitioners with the pet care and reassurance needed in order to honour our mission statement of “Peace of mind for owners, love care and safety for their pets”.  Liaise with both petitioner and volunteer throughout to ensure the delivery of our service.  This post will require a good overall understanding of the needs of elderly people and their pets.

An essential occupational requirement of this role is to participate with on-call midweek evenings and weekends (this will be one full week in five).  Together with other members of the on-call team you will participate with on-call on a rota basis to help ensure and maintain our emergency telephone line during these times.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

i. To assist in contacting volunteers nationwide by telephone and email and tasking by telephone as required to help petitioners with their pets.

ii. To listen to the needs of each petitioner and accurately record information for each petitioner and their pet by completion of a computerised case to record volunteers assigned and the service provided. 

iii. To ensure you record all of your communications onto the database in an accurate and timely fashion by way of comments on each petitioner case at the end of each conversation.

iv. To help maintain up-to-date records and mailing lists for petitioners, petitioners’ contacts and volunteers throughout the course of your work.

v. To ensure the appropriate delivery and quality of service provided to petitioners when you are handling a request for:-

a) Dog Walking

Task a minimum of two volunteers per case to assist with dog walking.  Contact all volunteers after their first dog walk to check and ensure they have started, log all responses onto the database, then complete the case.

b) Home Checks

When a potential long term fosterer is identified, you will be asked to task a volunteer to visit and carry out a home check.  Once the completed home check has been received, complete the case – (all home checks will be valid for 12 months).

c) Short Term Fostering (stf)

To initially gather as much information about the pet(s) as you can and how soon a foster is required.  Raise a case and log all details onto the database, begin a computerised search for a suitable volunteer to foster, arrange transport, if needed, to take the pet(s) to the volunteer and follow up 24 hours after the pet arrives to ensure all is well.  Keep in touch weekly.

If the pet goes home – arrange transport to take the pet back home, again follow up 24 hours after the pet has returned home with a phone call to the petitioner to ensure all is well.  If dog walking or any other assistance is needed, raise a new case and task the appropriate volunteers to either dog walk, offer Pet Care, reassure etc.

If the pet(s) goes into long term foster – refer to your line manager, once a decision is made, then follow the protocols for Long Term Fostering see below.

d) Long Term Fostering (ltf)

Raise a Long Term Foster Case, if needed, identify and chat to potential individuals, all of whom must already be home checked, run through the home check with the person to identify any changes, refer to your line manager, once the right individual is selected, arrange transport to take the pet(s) to their new ltf home.  Once the pet(s) have arrived, follow up 24 hours later to ensure all is well.

e) Pet Care

When required, task a volunteer to visit a petitioner and offer pet care, whether it is to administer medicine, groom, clean out a litter tray, bird cage, reassure, or any other pet care as agreed with your line manager as this is not an exhaustive list.

f) Talks

To task a volunteer to give a talk, attend an event, or represent The Trust, but, always take advice from your line manager with regard to appropriate volunteers for these tasks.

g) On-call

To ensure delivery of our service by participating in on-call and helping to maintain our emergency telephone line.  Together with other members of the on-call team, on a rota basis to help answer on-call emergencies this will be one full week in five – Monday to Monday including the weekend encompassing bank holidays, if applicable.  A day in lieu will be given for working bank holidays.

Upon completion of an entire week on-call and following a debrief with your line manager, a rest period of 1 day will be given to you immediately after ie Tuesday. 

On-call is for emergencies which will require an urgent response, for example if an ambulance is waiting to take someone to hospital, your urgent response is vital to provide peace of mind for the owner, love care and safety for a frightened bewildered pet.

v. To liaise with all other members of The Trust to help maintain a quality service.

vi. To contribute to the team by helping to update volunteer and petitioner cases in the course of your communications.

vii. To help maintain filing and filing systems related to your work.

viii. To liaise with all other staff of The Trust in a flexible manner.

ix. To liaise with all petitioners and members of the general public in a polite and helpful way.

x. To be familiar with and adhere to procedures and protocols, disciplinary and applicable rules and ensure compliance with legislations (Health and Safety, Data Protection, especially the privacy of members, petitioners and volunteers alike).

xi. At all times to ensure and maintain a compassionate, professional and efficient public image for The Trust.

The Job

The Project Coordinator will:

• Report to the Portfolio Manager (Routes Into & Through)
• Be employed on a permanent contract
• Be based remote or hybrid, with regular travel to London
• Be paid a pro rata full-time equivalent salary of £28,000

The Project Coordinator role is responsible for the smooth running of our projects and programmes. You’d be part of one or more project teams, overseen by a Project or Portfolio Manager, ensuring that our projects are delivered to a high standard, and that our participants and clients have a positive experience working with us.

1. Responsible for the administration and coordination of project delivery and communication across a portfolio of Koreo’s programmes and projects

2. Responsible for the management of data and relationships that contribute to wider business objectives and activities

3. Responsible for contributing to the team and self development as part of a thriving working culture at the company

We’re looking for someone with the following skillset:

● Organisation, time management and task efficiency – You are reliable and thrive on responsibility. You will be expected to manage competing priorities, delivering at pace to a high standard. Effective planning and strong organisation skills will be key to the success of this role

● Ability to take initiative and effectively solve problems – You are able to work independently and use initiative when needed. You are a natural problem solver, and you are able to quickly spot and manage key risk areas

● Attention to detail – You are an excellent proof-reader and you are able to work confidently with large quantities of complex data

● Customer service – You should understand who our customers/clients are and show a commitment and desire to anticipate, meet and exceed their needs and expectations

● Build positive relationships – You are comfortable in a small, busy and ambitious team. You are be a good team player and able to build and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with colleagues and our community

● Written and verbal communication – You can communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing. You should be confident in conversing with a variety of people and be able to adapt your style to different audiences and through different mediums

● Adaptable – You cope well with competing demands and changing environments. You maintain your effectiveness and productivity throughout. You will be flexible and able to work in different settings and with different people

● Readiness to learn - You are passionate about learning and personal development, both for others but also for yourself. You are proactive about finding and stepping into new learning opportunities

●Good general education, typically to A Level or equivalent

●Experience managing and delivering work to a deadline and in accordance to a plan

●Experience of working effectively on own initiative and as part of a team

●Experience working with databases and other systems including Google Workspace or equivalent

●Experience of providing administrative support to projects and teams

●Basic working knowledge of creating and coordinating projects

●The ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and processes

●Strong attention to detail

●Good communication skills, both oral and written – particularly the ability to communicate with people at various levels

●Desire to work on issues and themes of social change and the development of others

It’s desirable, but not essential that the person has:

●Experience of organising and planning events

●Experience of building and managing working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders

●Experience of collecting and analysing data/ insights and writing/producing reports

●Experience of digital diary management and coordination

●Knowledge of charities and/or employment programmes and the way they work and operate

●Ability to use design and communications software like Adobe and other platforms

●A proactive, problem-solving approach to challenges

●Desire and commitment to own learning and ongoing development
