Full-Time (30-37.5hrs available) | Salary Scale £24,784 - £28,734pa| Home-based office equipment supplied| Annual Leave 27 days per year plus Christmas eve rising by 1 day per year up to 31 days max.| Company Pension with Now Pensions | EAP with Health Assured. Permanent contract offered pending successful probation period.
By supporting our amazing volunteer facilitators and our highly valued partnership organisations, you’ll help drive growth of SMART Recovery programmes and meetings across 2 distinct geographical areas making our 4-Point Programmes even more accessible to those wanting to manage any type of addictive behaviour.
North East: The counties of Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, County Durham.
Yorkshire & The Humbers: The counties of North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, East Riding of Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire, North East Lincolnshire.
To thrive in this role, you'll need hands-on experience of facilitating groups or meetings and an understanding of what great facilitation looks like. Whilst already being a qualified SMART Recovery Facilitator and/or having engaged with our meetings as a previous participant is a distinct advantage, we also accept applications from individuals with a general awareness of addiction recovery or our 4-Point Programme. Importantly, you’ll be someone who brings people together, listens deeply, and creates a safe, empowering space for growth and recovery.
Your presentation skills should engage, inspire, and inform with clarity and warmth, whether you’re speaking with a room full of volunteers, delivering training via Zoom, or presenting to our partnership organisations. You’ll be required to help grow our footprint, increase and diversify our partnerships and encourage the uptake of our programme. You will represent UKSR at community events, recovery walks and conferences and get involved in defined projects.
We welcome applications from individuals with lived experience of addiction, whether that’s your own recovery journey or being close to someone else’s. It’s essential for you to bring empathy, authenticity, and a deep respect for others’ experiences to all of your interactions. You’ll need to be self-motivated and highly organised, and able to manage your time, workload, and travel with autonomy. You’ll be someone who uplifts, encourages, and empowers, helping others see what’s possible.
You should have experience in working with volunteers, understanding how to support and develop their skills. Previous delivery of training is essential, and if that experience has been gained in a peer-support or recovery setting, all the better. This role requires emotional intelligence; you’ll be working with people who have faced adversity, and your ability to support them within clear, professional boundaries is critical. Giving and receiving feedback, gathering data and other evidence to inform service development, and exercising reflective practice are all essential attributes.
You’ll also contribute to key projects that move SMART Recovery forward, adding your voice and insight to help shape what comes next. The role therefore requires project mangement skills as you will work on specific projects that develop our publications, training, communications and marketing. If you have a special interest and expertise in certain areas of our business such as social media and campaigns, training, volunteer management or copywriting we can develop this skill and interest as an enhancement to your role. Developing areas of expertise within our Co-ordinator team is something we are keen to do.
As this is a home-based role, you’ll need to be comfortable forming meaningful relationships online, building trust and connection via email, phone, and video calls. We’ll provide the equipment you need, but you’ll bring the energy and adaptability to make remote working feel personal and productive. Regular travel across the defined regions is a vital part of the role, visiting SMART Recovery meetings in the community and within partner organisations, and offering continual support to facilitators, are all essential in helping our network continue to grow with the quality we strive for.
It is essential that you live in the North East area.

ShareAction is an independent charity and an expert on responsible investment. We work to build a world where the financial system serves our planet and its people. We set ambitious standards for how financial institutions, through their investment decisions, can protect our planet and its people and campaign for this approach to become the norm. We convene shareholders to collectively push companies to tackle the climate crisis, protect nature, improve workers’ rights and shape healthier societies. In the UK and EU, we advocate for financial regulation that has society’s best interests at its core.
What you'll do
As Programme Manager, you will work to support the Programme Lead in ensuring the smooth and effective running of ShareAction’s Energy Transition Programme, which aims to contribute to tackling the climate crisis. This pivotal role will lead the implementation of effective programme management processes and systems to plan, monitor and drive programme delivery, performance and expenditure. You will also support fundraising activity, events and external stakeholder engagement for the programme and represent the programme with colleagues across the organisation to coordinate delivery, manage dependencies and ensure strategic alignment.
In this role, you will regularly engage with members of the Energy Transition team, with colleagues in other teams involved in helping to deliver aspects of the programme, and with peer Programme Managers to promote strategic alignment and cross-team learning. Forming productive internal relationships will be crucial for success; using your skills and experience to manage and coordinate our resources will help to ensure we maximise our impact. In doing so, you will support ShareAction’s progress towards its overall mission of promoting a more responsible investment system as well as achieving our climate campaign objectives.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will be highly varied: one day you could be organising the logistics and agenda for a team planning or evaluation session; the next, developing a budget for a funding proposal; and the next, helping the Programme Lead prepare for an external presentation.
If this role sounds exciting and a good fit with your skill set and experience, we’d love to hear from you!
What you’ll bring to the team
We’re seeking an experienced Programme Manager who is highly organised, motivated, proactive and efficient. You’ll need excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills to succeed in this lynchpin role for the smooth running of the programme across all its activities. You’ll also need to be personally aligned with ShareAction’s values and mission.
While we hope we’ll find someone with the majority of the skills and experience in the Job Description, we’re keen to hear from you even if you don’t have them all. We appreciate that lots of skills are transferable, and we welcome an open and honest discussion about how we might support you in any areas requiring further development.
We have a formal hybrid working policy in place. Given the central coordination role that this role will play, there is an expectation that you will be able to come into the office at least once a week to attend team meetings (scheduled on Tuesdays) and other meetings, as needed, with internal and external stakeholders.

Safer Recruitment
Depaul UK is committed to fair and inclusive recruitment, and we welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. If a role requires it under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975, we will carry out the appropriate Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check. About Depaul UK
In the 1980s, high unemployment and steep inflation was contributing to a shocking rise in youth homelessness across London. Thousands of young people were sleeping rough every night, with many areas notoriously dubbed “cardboard cities” due to the visible rise in street homelessness. Appalled by the scenes playing out across the capital, a group of people came together to tackle the challenge head on. Led by Cardinal Basil Hume and Mark McGreevy OBE, in 1989 Depaul UK was born.
What began as a single housing project in North London soon expanded across London, Greater Manchester and the North East of England. Today, Depaul UK provides accommodation, prevention and support services to thousands of marginalised young people across the UK each year.
As our name suggests, the work of Depaul UK has been inspired by St. Vincent de Paul – a man who devoted his life to helping vast numbers of people throughout the 17th century. St. Vincent de Paul’s belief in the intrinsic worth of all people and his commitment to taking bold action remain central to our values today. Depaul UK now forms part of a family of Depaul charities around the world. We each focus on the specific challenges in our own countries, but we’re united by our shared values and mission to end homelessness.
Please note this role is advertised by the recruitment agency acting for the client – Not For Profit People.

Senior Young Dads Worker (Neurodiverse)
About NEYDL
North East Young Dads and Lads (NEYDL) was founded in 2017 and has grown rapidly to become one of the UK’s most recognised organisations supporting young dads, men aged 25 and under in a fathering role. Our vision is for young dads to be valued and supported as parents. In 2024/25 we supported 217 young dads directly and achieved 100% satisfaction among the young dads we work with.
We are a non-judgmental organisation built on mutual trust, respect and honesty. Many of our staff are young dads themselves or have lived experience relevant to the communities we serve.
About this role
We use the term ‘young dads’ to refer to young dads, expectant dads and non-birthing partners aged 25 and under. This includes people within this age bracket who self-identify as father figures, including kinship carers and non-birthing partners.
We use the term ‘neurodiverse’ as an inclusive term covering young dads who are autistic, have ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia or other forms of neurodivergence, whether formally diagnosed, self-identified or awaiting assessment. We recognise that neurodivergent young dads can face additional barriers in accessing parenting support, including in how services are structured, communicated and delivered, and that these barriers are often compounded by stigma, exclusion or a lack of appropriate adjustment.
This is a dedicated role to ensure neurodivergent young dads can access the high quality support NEYDL offers, and that our wider service offer is genuinely accessible to them. You will provide direct, adapted support to neurodivergent young dads, while also building NEYDL’s organisational understanding of how to work effectively and inclusively with this group.
What we are looking for
We are looking for a motivated and experienced worker with a genuine understanding of neurodivergence and its impact on young fathers, and the ability to adapt support, communication and activities accordingly. You will be a confident networker, able to build relationships with both young dads and the services and organisations that support neurodivergent people across the North East.
We particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience of neurodivergence, either personally or as a parent or carer of a neurodivergent child, and from people with lived experience of young fatherhood.
What we offer
NEYDL is a close, inclusive and supportive team that actively invests in the development of its staff. We are a non-judgmental organisation built on mutual trust, respect and honesty. If you join us, you will be part of a team that genuinely believes in what it does.
In addition, we offer:
• 7.2 weeks’ annual leave per year (pro rata), inclusive of statutory and public holidays
• 5% employer pension contribution
• A flexible hybrid working arrangement
• Regular supervision and fortnightly team meetings
• Funded professional development and training
• Mileage paid at 55p per mile for business travel
How to apply
To apply, please send your CV (no more than four pages, including two references who can be contacted if successful) and either:
• A covering letter of no more than two sides of A4 (Arial, size 12)
• Or a video of no more than four minutes
In your application, please address:
• What excites you most about this role and how it connects to your skills and experience, bearing in mind the person specification
• What relevant lived experience you would bring to this role
• What experience of engaging with neurodivergent young people, families or communities you would bring to this role
Applications must be received by midnight, Sunday 16 August.
Shortlisting: 17 & 18 August. Interviews: Friday 21 August.
NEYDL is committed to equity, diversity and inclusion. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and particularly encourage applications from people with lived experience relevant to the communities we serve.
