The Church of England's Redress Scheme is being established to provide acknowledgement, support and redress to survivors of Church-related abuse. As part of this important work, we are recruiting two Church Disclosure Officers to support the effective management of information requests, disclosure activity and coordination of information requests across the Church.
As a Church Disclosure Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring requests are managed effectively and in accordance with legal, safeguarding and governance requirements. Acting as a Disclosure Officer, you will be responsible for reviewing, assessing and disclosing information in line with agreed procedures, whilst maintaining strong relationships with dioceses, cathedrals, parishes, safeguarding teams, religious communities and national Church institutions.
Working at the centre of a complex network of Church bodies, you will act as a key point of contact for requests received through the Scheme, ensuring they are assessed, routed appropriately and progressed to completion in a timely and survivor-centred way. The role combines information request coordination, stakeholder engagement, information management and disclosure decision-making, requiring excellent organisational skills, sound judgement and the ability to work confidently with sensitive information.
- Manage information requests relating to the Redress Scheme from receipt through to completion, ensuring they are progressed efficiently and within agreed timescales.
- Receive and assess information requests to determine the appropriate route for action and identify the Church bodies required to respond.

About the role

Fundraising Communications
- Support the promotion of fundraising campaigns, challenge events and supporter stories
- Work with the Communications and Engagement Manager to identify opportunities to improve supporter engagement, fundraising communications and digital fundraising activity
- Provide fundraising content and updates to help raise awareness of RASASC and the impact of our work.
Administration
- Maintain accurate supporter records, donations and fundraising activity using Donorfy
- Provide activity and income updates to the Fundraising Manager
- Support monitoring of fundraising performance and supporter engagement
- Ensure fundraising activities comply with organisational policies, GDPR and fundraising regulations.
Person Specification
Essential Experience & Skills
- At least 1-2 years’ experience in fundraising, events, communications, marketing, customer engagement or a similar people focused role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with supporters, volunteers, businesses and community groups
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously and prioritise effectively
- Ability to motivate and engage supporters, volunteers or customers
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Experience of using CRMs (databases) to collate data, create impact reports and input and manage donor information
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Commitment to the aims and values of RASASC
Desirable
- Experience of community fundraising or supporter engagement
- Experience of supporting fundraising events or challenge events
- Experience of creating content for social media, newsletters or email communications

Purpose
Reporting to the Head of HR, the HR Assistant will provide dependable administrative and operational support across the employee lifecycle, helping the HR team deliver an efficient, responsive and compliant service to colleagues across Childhood First.

Task

- Coordinate and track pre-employment compliance checks, including DBS checks, right to work verification, references and other required vetting, ensuring evidence is complete, records are accurate and any issues are escalated appropriately in line with safer recruitment requirements.
- Update, maintain and audit the HR database and confidential people records, ensuring information is accurate, up to date and handled in accordance with GDPR requirements.
- Support the day-to-day administration of the HR function, including managing HR inbox enquiries, maintaining key HR dates and deadlines, and producing regular people reports.
- Liaise with external HR service providers, including payroll and pension providers, HR software suppliers and recruitment agencies, as required.
- Take minutes and actions from meetings where required and contribute to improvements in HR processes and wider HR projects.

Croydon Health & Wellbeing Space (CHWS) is an exciting and dynamic service, run in partnership with Mind in Croydon and Croydon BME Forum and commissioned by South London and Maudsley Mental Health Service (SLaM). The CHWS opened in 2022 with the aim of providing advice, information, and specialist support to Croydon residents with mental health concerns, who drop-in, or have been referred to the via the local Integrated Care Network Plus multi-disciplinary clinical and community mental health support teams.
The Advice Workers will be part of a friendly team, including crisis workers and clinical mental health professionals and function as the first point of access for visitors to the CHWS. Following an initial conversation to ascertain the clients’ needs, the Advice Workers will provide information and advice, as well as signposting and referrals to specialist services, such as the Mental Health Personal Independence Co-ordinators, Social Prescribers and Community Link Workers, in addition to the wider voluntary and statutory services in the borough. The role will be fast paced and vary each day offering a fantastic opportunity for the postholder to develop their knowledge and skills and make a difference to the users of this service.
