Job description

Grace Eyre is one of the oldest and most innovative charities in the UK. We’re committed to supporting a range of people, including people with an acquired brain injury, physical disabilities, learning disability and autistic people.

Our mission is to provide good homes and pioneering support, connections and experiences led by Our Charter, where voice, choice, growth and happiness lead the way.

Are you an experienced social care leader who is passionate about high-quality, person-centred support?

We are excited to be recruiting a Scheme Manager for our brand-new specialist service in Hove. This unique development provides high-quality, long-term affordable housing for people living with acquired brain injuries and/or physical disabilities, supporting residents to live independently in a safe, accessible and welcoming community.

The scheme comprises 28 beautifully designed, fully accessible purpose-built apartments, each with its own private entrance and outdoor space or balcony. Residents will also benefit from our inviting communal areas, including a ground-floor community lounge, an additional shared space on the upper floor, and a stunning rooftop garden offering panoramic views across Hove. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping a vibrant new service and making a lasting difference to people’s lives.

In this varied and rewarding role, you will manage and support a staff team to provide safe, responsive and empowering services that promote independence, choice and wellbeing. You will lead from the front, model good practice and maintain high standards through supervision and quality monitoring.

You will work closely with housing providers, families, professionals and community groups organising  social events and activities and create a positive, vibrant living environment where people feel safe, connected and proud of where they live.

The successful candidate will have proven leadership skills, experience of managing services for people with complex needs, strong organisational skills and confidence using relevant IT systems. You will understand key social care legislation, including safeguarding and mental capacity, and be able to evidence quality and compliance in line with regulatory requirements.

An NVQ4/QCF5 in Leadership and Management, Registered Managers Award, or willingness to work towards the required qualification is essential.

If you are proactive, compassionate and committed to developing people and services, we would love to hear from you.

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion:

No applicant for employment or employee will be treated less favourably than another on grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, gender, sexual orientation, marriage & civil partnership or pregnancy & maternity, and we encourage applications from people with learning disabilities or identify with being on the autistic spectrum/neurodiverse.

Staff benefits include:

  • Enhanced holiday entitlement
  • One paid celebration day a year
  • Cost of living support package such as rental deposit scheme
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Generous refer-a-friend scheme
  • One paid volunteering day a year
  • Free Blue Light Card
  • Enhanced sick pay
  • Enhanced employer pension contribution
  • Enhanced death in service
