Every day, people affected by dementia face questions about what’s next. For many, taking part in clinical research offers hope, purpose, and a chance to shape the future of dementia care. But finding the right trial, understanding what it involves, and knowing how to take part can be confusing.

The Alzheimer’s Society UK Dementia Trials Network (UKDTN) Trial Finder is an open-access platform that connects people living with mild cognitive impairment or dementia, their families, and healthcare professionals, with research opportunities across the UK. It empowers people to make informed decisions about taking part in clinical trials, wherever they live.
We are looking for a Clinical Trial Finder Officer who can ensure this platform is accurate, accessible, and meaningful. By raising awareness of, and widening access to, clinical trial opportunities, your work will help more people to take part in clinical trials and feel more in control of their journey.
You will work closely with colleagues across the Alzheimer’s Society UKDTN Research Nurse Programme, Research Communications team, Data and Digital teams, Participation team, and with a range of external partners to maintain the Trial Finder, respond to enquiries, and ensure that the platform is reliable, culturally informed and inclusive. Your attention to detail, organisational skills, and passion for supporting people affected by dementia will help make a tangible difference in people’s lives.
About the role
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Trial Finder, keeping it reliable, user-friendly, and up-to-date.
- Maintain accurate, accessible, and approved study listings, ensuring clarity for all users.
- Implement and manage quality control processes, including version control, audit trails, and regular review of trial entries.
- Monitor user feedback and enquiries, resolving gaps and escalating technical issues while driving continuous improvement based on insights.
- Liaise with clinicians, NHS teams, study sponsors, and external stakeholders to verify trial details and maintain accurate contact and site information.
- Work collaboratively across Alzheimer’s Society teams, UKDTN patient workstream and wider dementia research stakeholders to coordinate updates, maintain consistency, and respond to queries.
- Track, report, and analyse key metrics on Trial Finder usage, reach, and impact, and support wider communications activity.
- Ensure compliance with ethical, governance, and accessibility standards, embedding inclusion by design.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Team: Fundraising and Supporter Engagement / Strategy and Engagement
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a progressive Fundraising and Supporter Engagement team. The Walk Wheel Cycle Trust (was Sustrans) is bucking the trend in terms of fundraising performance and we are looking for someone with the skills, experience and energy to continue to drive our Corporate Partnerships forwards.
As the Corporate Partnerships Manager, you will help the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust build strong, meaningful partnerships with corporations. But you won’t be starting from scratch! We area already benefitting from partnerships with a few well-known brands and have others interested in collaborating. Your work will focus on researching new opportunities, planning how to grow partnerships, and developing approaches that support both short term and long-term income for the charity.
Not surprisingly, a key part of the role is building and maintaining relationships through great communication, regular updates, and exceptional stewardship. You will also be writing engaging and easy to understand partnership proposals that show how organisations can benefit from working with the Trust, while also helping to advance our purpose.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Developing a new business strategy that increases sponsorship income from corporate partners.
- Creating partnership offers that provide value to both sides. These should attract companies that share our values and can support our projects, products, and programmes.
- Securing new sponsorship and significantly growing income by developing clear and persuasive proposals. This includes shaping each proposal through regular engagement with corporate contacts and coordinating input from multiple teams to produce strong, evidence-based submissions.
- Providing excellent stewardship to all partners. This includes personalised communication, meaningful recognition and clear reporting. The goal is to build long term, positive relationships with both prospects and existing partners.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with delivery colleagues to develop engaging and persuasive communications, developing strong relationships with partners and the rewarding challenge of fundraising!

About The Role

As a Research Communications Assistant, you will join our Research Communications team within the Research and Innovation department, reporting to the Research Information Manager. You will work across teams to make sure our research is understood, valued and impactful.

As a Research Communications Assistant, you will join our Research Communications team within the Research and Innovation department, reporting to the Research Information Manager. You will work across teams to make sure our research is understood, valued and impactful.

What you’ll do
