We're looking for someone to support our two co-ceos at an award-winning charity changing how the media tells stories about climate, economy, children's health, and more. This is a varied, high-trust executive assistant role at the heart of a small, values-led team.
About Heard
At Heard, we help the UK's biggest broadcasters, publishers and charities move away from trauma-heavy storytelling and towards stories that make change feel possible. For 18 years we've worked with teams at the BBC, Channel 4, Netflix, The Guardian and The Sun, and with charities including Crisis and Great Ormond Street Hospital. Last year alone, our work reached a combined audience of over 23 million people.
About the role
As executive assistant, you'll provide comprehensive support to our two co-CEOs and, where needed, the wider exec team. This is a varied, trusted role at the centre of the organisation, covering everything from calendar management and inbox triage to board logistics and minute-taking.
You'll act as a gatekeeper and gateway between our co-CEOs and the people they work with, exercising judgement and discretion to keep things running smoothly. You'll also hold our governance processes from scheduling and minuting board meetings to coordinating trustee recruitment and keeping our terms of reference up to date. This role gives you the chance to build expertise across administration, governance, and organisational operations in a progressive organisation.

Overview
Barts Health NHS Trust provides maternity and neonatal care for women and birthing people and their babies each year, providing all aspects of obstetrics and midwifery care in our labour ward, midwife-led birth centre and home birthing service.
North-East London (NEL) (Newham, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest) Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership (MNVP) listens to the experiences of women, birthing people and families, and brings together service users, staff and other stakeholders to plan, review and improve maternity and neonatal care. MNVPs ensure that service users’ voices are at the heart of decision-making in maternity and neonatal services by being embedded within the leadership of provider trusts and feeding into the Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS) and Integrated Care Board. This influences improvements in the safety, quality, and experience of maternity and neonatal care. We work to ensure that every woman and birthing person on the maternity and neonatal pathway has a chance to have their voice heard. We do not speak for them.
We are recruiting a Maternity Lead for Tower Hamlets, who brings the expertise of women/birthing people with lived experience of maternity services at Barts Health NHS Trust into the heart of the development of every aspect of maternity and neonatal services at the trust.
The role of Maternity Voices Partnership (MVP) Lead is key to providing inclusive and collaborative leadership and ways of working, ensuring that all women and birthing people and their families’ views are heard and acted on. This is an exciting opportunity to review, shape and improve services and make a real difference to women, birthing people and their families.
This is a paid, self-employed job requiring 1.5 days per week (worked flexibly where possible). Working with the MNVP is an opportunity to become part of a vibrant team, improving care for our service users and enabling voices and engagement with our community.
The membership of the MNVP includes:
● Women, birthing people and families from a diverse range of backgrounds.
● Members of the wider community such as birth workers and charities specialising in mental health, supporting refugees, etc.
● Nurses, midwives, health visitors, doctors and managers.
This is a self-employed position on a fixed-term contract until March 2027. The successful candidate will not be entitled to employee benefits such as pension, sick pay, or holiday pay.
As a self-employed contractor, you are responsible for managing your own tax and National Insurance contributions. You will be required to invoice the organisation for your work at the end of each calendar month, and payment will be made within 21 days of receipt of a monthly invoice.
Please note: This role requires applicants to have lived experience of using maternity services at The Royal London Hospital and/or Tower Hamlets within the last five years (either by giving birth or receiving maternity care). The ability to speak Bengali, Urdu or Romanian is highly desirable and will be considered an advantage.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
Change lives, shape communities and unlock funding for projects that make a real difference.
We're looking for an exceptional bid writer and funding specialist to help bring ambitious ideas to life across North Wales.
This isn't a typical fundraising role. At Groundwork North Wales, every successful application helps create greener places, stronger communities, new opportunities and lasting positive change for people and the environment. As our Business Development Officer, you'll be at the heart of turning ideas into reality. Working with passionate colleagues across a wide range of environmental, heritage and community projects, you'll identify funding opportunities, develop compelling bids and secure the investment needed to deliver meaningful impact across the region.
We're looking for someone who loves the challenge of crafting persuasive funding applications, building relationships with funders and spotting opportunities that others might miss. You'll combine strong research skills, attention to detail and excellent writing ability to help secure grants, trusts and tender opportunities that support our mission for People, Places and Planet.
In return, you'll join a supportive and purpose-driven organisation where your work has visible, tangible results. Every funding success will help deliver projects that improve local environments, celebrate heritage, support communities and create a more sustainable future.
Based at our Wrexham office, this role offers full or part-time hours (minimum 21 hours per week), flexibility to support work-life balance, and the opportunity to make a genuine difference through your professional expertise.
If you're an experienced fundraiser, bid writer or business development professional looking for a role with purpose, we'd love to hear from you.
