Tax Justice UK (TJUK) is a leading campaigning organisation dedicated to transforming the UK economy and society by advocating for a fairer, more progressive, and more effective tax system. Working directly with grassroots partners across the country, you will build relationships with local groups and co-design a community researcher model to ensure the project is deeply rooted in the places we study.
Your work will focus on listening to how everyday people experience economic insecurity, understand local divisions, and respond to messaging on taxing the super-rich. This role offers a unique opportunity to gather the foundational, on-the-ground insights that will shape national narrative strategies to change tax policy.
We’re looking for someone starting in their research career, who is eager to learn.
We welcome applicants from all different backgrounds who have demonstrable interest in working class issues and a commitment to a fairer tax system in the UK.
If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.

Support the recruitment, coordination and preparation of participants and community research partners across the project’s four to five research locations
Travel to fieldwork locations across the UK to attend, observe and support the delivery of focus groups and interviews
Organise research materials, including transcripts, field notes, consent records and qualitative datasets, in line with ethical and data-protection requirements
Code and analyse focus-group and interview data, identifying emerging themes
Help translate research findings into practical insights for the tax justice movement, communications and the development of messages about class, immigration and tax
Attend weekly team meetings in the London office
Undertake other reasonable research and project-support tasks required for the successful delivery of the programme.
Please note: This is a one-year, part time post paid through a tax-free monthly stipend for strictly research purposes from the Barry Amiel and Norman Melburn Trust. The fellowship post holder will work as part of the Tax Justice UK team. The salary is a £21,500 tax free stipend for 4 days a week, equivalent to roughly £31k fulltime with tax.
We're fighting for higher taxes on the super rich – and a fairer tax system for everyone.

Head of Finance and Operations
Salary: £45,000–£50,000 per annum, plus performance-related bonus of up to £5,000 per annum
Location: South London
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Hybrid working: Up to one day per week from home, with additional flexibility possible
We are working with an established arts and education charity to recruit a new Head of Finance and Operations.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small, ambitious organisation delivering a range of artistic, educational and community programmes. The charity receives income from a diverse mix of public funding, trusts and foundations, individual giving, sponsorship and commercial activity.
Sitting within the Leadership Team and working closely with the Director, this is a genuinely broad role encompassing finance, operations, governance, HR and organisational management.
A key part of the role will be leading the charity’s financial management and planning. You’ll manage the annual budget, produce quarterly management accounts and cash-flow forecasts, oversee VAT returns and work closely with external accountants and auditors on the year-end accounts and audit. You’ll also work with budget holders, senior colleagues, trustees and the Finance, Audit & Risk Committee to ensure strong financial management across the organisation.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have previous experience working within a small charity or similarly sized not-for-profit organisation. This isn’t a role where finance sits in isolation – you’ll need to be comfortable getting into the detail, working across different areas of the organisation and balancing strategic responsibilities with the practical realities of working in a smaller charity.
Strong charity finance experience will therefore be important. You’ll need to understand the complexities of restricted and unrestricted funding, be confident managing and reporting against different funding streams and have a good working knowledge of Charity SORP.
Experience of dealing with funders and their different reporting and monitoring requirements will also be particularly useful.
Alongside finance, you’ll oversee a varied operational remit including building and office management, HR processes, organisational policies and governance. You’ll also support the Board and committees, take responsibility for company secretarial duties and maintain relationships with key funders and stakeholders.
This role would suit someone who enjoys the variety that comes with working in a small charity – practical, organised and collaborative, with the confidence to operate at leadership and trustee level while still being happy to roll their sleeves up when required.
You don’t necessarily need to tick every box. We’re keen to hear from candidates with strong charity finance experience who can demonstrate the ability to manage a broad and varied remit.
The role sits on the Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the Charity Director. You will manage a General Manager and Freelance Bookkeeper.
Fully-qualified and part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA candidates will be considered.
Please send your CV for further consideration.

We are part of One Bexley; a partnership of 8 local charities who have come together to support local people with care and support needs in new and creative ways. Working as a Trusted Assessor based in Bexley Mencap you will enable people to find the right support services that meet their needs and fulfil their personal goals, supporting them to maintain their independence for as long as possible and helping them to plan ahead. You will do this by building trusting relationships with individuals and their families, identifying the strengths that they have as well as their support needs and linking people with existing services and networks in their local neighbourhood.
About the role
The Trusted Assessor supports adults with care and support needs through strengths-based assessment, support planning and review. You will work alongside adults with a learning disability and neurodiverse people to understand what is important to them, identify their strengths, assess eligible needs and develop personalised support plans that promote independence, wellbeing and positive risk taking. You will also help people understand Care Act processes, personal budgets and Direct Payments where appropriate, while working closely with health, social care and voluntary sector partners.
About You
You will share our commitment to putting people first, treating everyone with dignity and respect, and recognising the importance of listening to lived experience. You will ideally have experience of assessment, support planning or care coordination and be confident building trusting relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds. Most importantly, you will believe in strengths-based, person-centred practice and enjoy working collaboratively to achieve better outcomes.
We are seeking a motivated and organised candidate with experience in social care, support planning or a related advice-based role. You will be someone who understands person-centred support and believes in helping people have real choice and control in their lives. We are looking for someone who genuinely cares about improving outcomes for people with care and support needs.
You will need to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build trusted relationships with residents. You will also need the confidence to explain complex information clearly, support people to understand their responsibilities, and manage a varied caseload effectively.
You will need to be approachable, solutions-focused and able to work independently. Strong organisational skills and good IT skills are essential to ensure accurate record keeping and effective case management.
